Golden Dragon in Wakefield

Do not order salt and pepper chicken from this place!taste like they've just generally mixed so many cleaning products and when I rang back their were rather cheeky towards me however we had eaten everything else with our food and they told me they wanted all the food back to examine when it was just the chicken?customer service was awful I also work in a Chinese myself and I would never speak to customers the way they spoke to me tonight it was out of order and very disrespectful

£28 Chips X2 pancake rolls Egg fried rice Salt and pepper chicken Curry sauce pancake rolls disgusting, greasy, soggy cold. Chips freezing. Rice tasted of nothing, warmed up and mushed together. Chicken was only just warm and soggy. Curry sauce VERY thick. We had to warm In the microwave so this made the meal worse than it was to begin with. Very disappointed. Saturday night treat and an expensive treat that had to go in the bin. I don’t normally write reviews but this is now the 3rd occasion of warmed up expensive food. Use to be the best Chinese not sure what has happened but won’t be ordering again.

Luke warm and no taste. The chicken in the chicken balls was hard, the batter was soft. The rice looked like it was old and warmed up. The chicken in the chicken and cashew nuts was slimes. Most went in the bin. Contacted the restaurant and was told that it won’t be hot as it is a takeaway and that they had no other complaints that evening. Won’t be going back there. The search for a decent Chinese in Wakefield continues….

We ordered from The Golden Dragon, Walton yesterday for the first time due to the positive reviews shown on Trip Advisor and Facebook. We can only assume these reviews have been written by the staff of the Takeaway as this is, without doubt, one of the worst takeaways we have EVER had - I cannot say eaten as most of it went in the bin! It was at best lukewarm although boarding on cold, we had the wrong starter (not sure what it was but it looked horrid) and it all had an air of being on it's third/fourth warm up as it was dry and tasteless. I phoned to complain and was told we would receive a full refund and the money would be delivered that night. This did not happen and when I phoned the following evening to enquire as to why, had a conversation with a VERY stroppy woman who did not accept any responsibility for our complaint and told me I was just upset at having to wait an hour and an half for our delivery. This was not the case as we were told at the time of ordering this was the time we would have to wait and we were more than happy. This was the biggest waste of £34 EVER!!!

Always super tasty, good quality, always cooked in plenty time. Staff are always friendly. Salt and Pepper Chicken/Chips is the best around! Never had a bad experience here in the last 7 years.

Best Chinese in the area - good food at a reasonable price. Duck and pancakes very good, prawn toast good - Sweetcorn soup very nice,main meals are a good size and tasty. Would definitely recommend have returned several times and have never been disappointed

This is one of my favourite places to get tasty Chinese food. There are veggie options and it’s always arrives quickly and hot! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend these guys I'm a vegetarian so usually hard to please,but these guys do me a veggie fu yung always lovely n chips n curry sauce, never a problem n deliver fairly quickly too. 5* nicki u no mexx

This is our first visit to this takeaway. The food was prepared swiftly and was still very hot when we got home (approx 3 miles away) which is not always the case with other takeaways we have visited. I am vegetarian and there is plenty of choice on the menu. I had a mixed vegetable curry. There was plenty of fresh not frozen veg And at least 7/8 different veg in a thick tasty sauce. The rice, chips and prawn crackers (for my hubby) were plentiful. My hubby had the special curry which did not skimp on meats and prawns. We will certainly go again and highly recommend it to others.

We order from here occasionally. The food is tasty and hot upon delivery. Never had any mishaps. Would definitely recommend.

We have ordered from here multiple times but food always delicious & service really good. Had various items off the menu & all been good. Recommend crispy shredded beef, salt & pepper chicken, chicken in black bean.

Been here a couple of times recently for a quick tea. The food is ok, an average Chinese takeaway, no more no less. Food is cooked quickly though, so handy if you live in the village and need something in a hurry!

Decided on a take out from here as our usual was closed, nevet been before but would now recommend and go again. The service had no issues all nice and smooth. The food was great although the salt and pepper chicken was a little on the dry side and we prefer our usual take out to this. However, the main of special satay which was not the menu was lovely and had a great kick to it, so much so i would say better than our usual. Really enjoyed it and will go again.

This is definitely the best Chinese takeout in the area. We had a selection of 9 meals for a family get together and every meal was lovely and everyone happy. We have recommended this to our friends who live 5 miles away and they are more than happy to make the effort as they agree its the best around. Lovely family too.

Really nice , fresh food . Spring rolls were lovely , crispy and packed full . Duck pancakes also excellent as were both main courses .

We decided to try Golden Dragon, because our regular Chinese takeaway has become rather inconsistent with the quality of their food. I was slightly apprehensive, given the mixed reviews, but figured I'd take a punt.

We have had meals from this takeaway on several occasions since the takeover but they have been a bit hit and miss, I think that they must rotate the staff in the kitchen so you never know what you will get. We tend to order the same meals and it is unbelievable how they can differ in quality, at best the food we have had has only been average.

Ordered chicken chow mein, Singapore chow mein and a portion of chips

Lovely food made using fresh, crunchy, vegetables and sauces that are not too sweet. We had BBQ Spare Ribs in sauce, 1/4 Aromatic Crispy Duck, Spring Rolls, Chicken with Fresh Chillis and mixed vegetables, S/S Chicken Balls, Chicken with Thai Hot Chilli.
