Porth Palace Chinese Takeaway in Rhondda Cynon Taf

First class they had an issue with online orders tonight they rectified it straight away first class service thank you.

I recently ordered from this takeout restaurant, and I was impressed with both the service and prices. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the entire experience enjoyable. Additionally, the prices were reasonable, providing good value for the quality of the food. I'll definitely be ordering from here again!

You explained delivery would be over an hour as you were missing a driver. Were they new on the job? Did they naively take some of their wages as food, then ring in sick with a fast case of the Rhondda Trots? Worst Chinese 'meal' I've *ever* eaten, bar none. Possibly the worst meal I've EVER eaten, but then there was that one time when laid up in Llandough hospital when my sandwich lunch was so dry and stiff, the kind trolley lady sprayed the bread with a water atomiser to give it some flexibility back . This comes a close. second to that. It wins by a hair because at least the two mouthfuls I had (I had to try a second forkful out of disbelief) were warm and didn't have the mild aftertaste of antiseptic. However, so bad, I haven't the words to describe. Go there with your mates after a few pints for a dare, but have some back-up chow on hand if you're hungry.

Absolutely disgusting the chips were warmed up so many times that there was nothing in them asked for chicken ball special got chicken balls and hand full of chips tasting disgusting rang to see where rice was they said don’t get it £17 down the drain the curry and chicken balls were warmed up so much , foul couldn’t eat it won’t be Re visiting ever !!!

I visited Porth to do the weekly shop at Morrison's (the only one within Rhondda Cynon Taff). Once I finished the shopping I googled takeaways in Porth and decided to try the Porth Palace, because they had good reviews, the prices were very reasonable and there was so much choice on the menu. For example chicken balls with a choice of sauces,, curries, soups, special fried rices and a choice of prawn, pork, beef and duck dishes. The takeaway also offers chef specials and meals presented in one tray. The 'All in one tray' meals include chicken or beef with peas, rice or chips with a sauce for £5.80 or £6.50 (large) and chicken balls (choice of sweet and sour, Peking or barbeque sauce) served with rice or chips for £4.70. After much pondering I placed an online order for duck in orange sauce, chips, boiled rice and prawn crackers for £10.50. My order was ready in no time at all and the person who served me was very friendly. The food was piping hot, the duck was cooked beautifully, the chips were lovely and the portion sizes were very good (fed all 3 of us). Next time I visit I am going to try the £6.30 mixed appetiser (prawn toast, choice of sauce, satay chicken, samosa's, mini pancake rolls and spare ribs).

Excellent choice of food. Tasty, well cooked, warm. Mei ling the owner is friendly and welcoming when you phone to order for delivery or collection

Excellent take away. Rich flavor and plenty of choice. Moved to Cardiff for a year and still drive all the way back to my old local Porth Palace - just because it tastes so good. Chinese is excellent, they also make the most incredible gravy !!! Better than KFC ! Highly recommend!

Food was nice, always come to this Chinese the gravy and best of all chicken salt and pepper my favourite the delivery driver are nice and fast service. Love it all

Used this take away as it’s now our local due to moving recently. Friendly service and reasonable priced. Got home food all looked ok but there was sections of our special fired rice especially the chicken that did not looked cooked left most of the content on the plate

Well i have been eating takeaways from porth palace for nearly 20 years and would like to say never had 1 bad meal and the delivery service is top class , the barbecue spare ribs are the best around well done porth palace

We always use Porth Palace for our special takeaway treat and Mei Ling has never let us down. To be fair, we order the same dishes everytime but they're delicious and well made. I'd definitely recommend the Singapore noodles and chicken with cashew nuts!

I use this chinese shop alot lovely food everytime they never disappoint they are so freindly to food always warm tasty really cant fault them

these people deliberately misheard my order and i ended up paying 4,50£ more for something i did not want. their "prawn toast" tastes like deep fried cheap bread with sesame on top, their "satay chicken" is overcooked and dry and so are their ribs, whilst the spring rolls are undercooked and limp. Unfriendly and unhelpful, not a patch on Roger's. Typical drink and chuck food. Best forgotten and never mentioned again.

Have been having takeaway from this Chinese restaurant for many years and the food is absolutely stunning. The staff are very friendly and like to get to know their regulars and the food they enjoy. Customer service excellent. Previous reviews are incorrect, as this restaurant has an excellent hygiene rating, was a 4 but previously increased to a 5! Highly recommend the satay skewers, well worth a visit!!!

Horrible. . Sin duda, no lo recomendaría. . La orden fue hecho bien. y entregado a tiempotoda la comida lo que nos las arreglamos para no comer era muy, muy soso. . Este fue mi curry. Puedes ir a mi chips slugish! !Por no mencionar las costillas dulce y agria y pelotas de pollogelatina. Todosse quejaron de la sobras congeladas tienda. Se disculparon. pero no lo suficientemente bueno. . .Quieren llevar 10 libras de descuento próximo pedido. . Yo no creo que lo pasamos un poco más de £28 para basura que fuimos a la papelerano podrían poner los pobres 10 libras mi tarjeta y para el conductor. dejarlo en su próxima entrega de su. . .Pobre muy pobredebe tener el reembolso completoserá llevado a este másque nunca quejarse de nada! ! ! !

Very efficient service.. quick turnaround lovely food ..... never had a bad meal here. Always seems to be chaotic but never had to wait more than five minutes .

Estaba un poco aprensivo acerca intentando esto después de leer algunos de los comentarios de aquí, pero no podían haber sido más equivocados. La mujer que sirven es muy amable y acogedor a pesar de que se apresuraron a sus pies con y pedidos de comida, pero ella aún se tomó el tiempo de hablar conmigo sobre el área local mientras aguardaba para mi gusto. Los platos que pedimos estaba dispuesto a menos de 10 minutos y salía caliente y claramente fresco. Había algunas comidas excelentes para una persona así como en las bandejas que incluía patatas fritas, así que teníamos una de éstas como regalo adicional. Buena relación calidad-precio por unos valles chino y sin duda el más bonito de la zona local que es seguro. Lo recomiendo sin duda.

If I could give zero I definitely would, not only did they get our order wrong which we found out when we got home, they also shouted at my mother on the phone that she didn't order what she said she did, even told her she was being stupid, which is just disgusting behaviour of staff, I think we know what we ordered even then they refused to give us more food or a refund. Not only that but the food they did give us was horrendous, the prawn balls were burnt two a crisp and two didn't even contain prawns! The rice was over cooked and not nice tasting and the sauce was thick and lumped. The only good thing about the whole meal were the chips, so thanks Porth Palace for my £18 food that we only enjoyed the chips out of. I would stay well clear.

Recogimos una toma lejos de aquí en el camino de vuelta de visitando amigos como estábamos hambrientos. Fue malo que tenía dos bocados y no podía comer. Fue un arroz frito especial empalagoso y seco, con una salsa realmente caliente pero totalmente panecillo de curry. No he tenido desde aquí antes, pero amigos tenían y parece un poco y fuera. Una pena, ya que parecía limpio y el personal era amable espero que visitamos en un mal día y yo les dará la ventaja de esto. Puede dar un futuro intento seguir observando el reviews

I have had food there loads and allways stunning food curry nice egg fried rice good well what can i say everything that i have had stunning try the egg foo young stunning meal everytime a must for nice food

What you'd expect from a chinese restaurant, fairly cheap chinese take-away, there are better in the area and there are worse likewise. Not one of my favourites, not fussed on the taste of the curry sauce and they are frozen chips.

Half of the food we ordered didn't arrive. Random dishes which were very distasteful. Very disappointed after being recommended this place. Would not recommend.

Great take-away, good selection, good prices quality food every visit, regular visitor, my local Chinese - well worth a visit

good food all round with really quick service, we use this takeaway a lot, cant fault it, try the crispy beef its really, really nice!
