Best salt and chilli chips and chicken beat BBQ sauce and curry sauce IV ever tasted and prawn crackers are super duper crunchy I refuse Togo else where everything is absolutely stunning

Really nice place very clean and professional

Delivery time was an hour 20 minutes, food came and the duck was like charcoal. Phoned and advised the duck was terrible and wanted a replacement, woman’s attitude was disgusting and she advised a new portion of duck would be with us in 20 minutes. 45 minutes passed and no sign so phoned back up to be told they do not do exchanges or refunds and we will not be having anything else delivered. Wouldn’t recommend

Food was late. Phoned and they said driver was held up so went back 2 get fresh food. Driver pulled as I was on phone . Food was still cold? Chips like rock and I know curry is sup 2 b spicy but this was ridicules and found it very expensive £3.50 4 prawn crackers and £3 4. 2 pomperdoms normally about £1.20

Absolutely awful customer service! Rang up to make a collection order and requested for a dietary requirement and was told on the phone that there wouldn't be a charge for this requirement (all I requested was for beansprouts to be seperate to the chow mein due to allergy requirements) When I was told the total amount of the order I worked it out and found that there was £4 difference to what the items accumulated to from the menu at the Chinese. When I asked why there was a £4 difference the woman said its because of what I requested - even though she stated on the phone that there wouldn't be a charge... she said on this one occasion I wont charge you extra (even though they were only putting the rationed portion of the beansprouts in a separate container). I stated that I was pregnant and didn't want to risk the allergy hence why I requested this to be in a separate container and she mockingly stated "you are pregnant so this makes it okay" as if I could require anything I wanted! I did not appreciate this tone or attitude and requested to have my money back and she reluctantly tried to keep it! I emphasised her rudeness and I had it back without taking the order! There is no appreciation of dietary requirements but instead a shear lack of respect and total ignorance to the needs of customers!

I would never order from here again,they gave me the wrong order,then when I asked if I could have what I ordered they told me not to phone again,as they wouldn't accept my order,I got shouted at,totally un professional

Absolutely terrible customer service. Woman was rude whilst my mother tried to explain she gave the wrong order, my mother double checked the order to make sure, but the lady had a fowl attitude towards her. Saying that she won’t give her another lot of food, what she ordered, my mother hate sweet and sour sauce, but had to sit here and eat it because the horrible woman wouldn’t sort the order. I’m disgusted by her attitude, how they are even open. Don’t order from these people, absolutely horrible, and their food isn’t any better. They also said they won’t deliver us anymore. Good 🙄

Don’t have the mixed appetisers! In a polystyrene box all plonked on each other. Very dry chicken and ribs. Soggy spring rolls and rock hard prawn toast. AWFUL. Phoned back to let them know. Very abrupt . attitude was terrible and basically didn’t care. Won’t go again.

1st takeaway we have had in years, ordered on line to pick up at 5.00. Perfect service, and obviously very busy. Fab meal, piping hot.. will use again.

Terrible customer service. Food arrived without half the order. After I phoned I was told they would send it out. 15 minutes later. I phoned again after my food was cold! I was told it was on the way.. it would be 7 minutes. I told the lady this was unacceptable half my order was stone cold. She ask’ ‘what do you want me to about it’ I told her I wanted my money back. And was told no and she put down the phone! Avoid this Chinese !!

It pains me to leave a bad review as I’ve been ordering from here from years and has always been great …until this year ,and tonight’s food was the nail in the coffin I’m done with this place. Food was cold and chips where hard and stale ,there where things missing and the roast chicken looked like it’d been roasted then microwaved 6 times .so disappointing but unfortunately I’ve not had a decent order from here in a long time.

Disgusting tried ordering g a special fried rice with just chicken on top. Came out as an stodge fried rice with bits of chicken. Don't know where the rest of the ingredients were! Also £4.00 for 2 of the smallest most poor quality pancake rolls I've ever seen. Disgusting for the price. Never I mean never go to this takeaway. Looks absolutely stinking too. Will be calling the health inspectors out on this one. If there was less than 1 star it would be that.

Ordered food came to £29 Turned up after 1 hours 45 minutes and was wrong, then took another 1.5 hours to send out the correct food but was missing an important part of the order. Also the Singapore chow mein tasted like they had been soaked in vinegar. Absolute dog awful service. Would never order from this s hole again

I ordered from this chinese because the sun was closed and oh my good it was absolutely disgusting, there was mould all in my curry , the woman on the phone was very rude and seemed like she just didn't want to talk despite this the food was utterly shocking there was hair in my chips also I'm not very happy or satisfied with the service provided when we rung to explain the woman ended the phone ,became very High rate will not be using this again as the experience was tottaly unacceptable

Must admit I've lived in Aberdare all my life and never tried this place, until a flyer was posted to my address. The mixed appetisers, king prawn curry, beef in black bean sauce and house special chow mean we're excellent, nice and spicy and not boring like othe takeaways in the area! Quick delivery too! Try it, you won't be disappointed I assure you! I'll see you soon and thanks!

We ordered food for the family last night and what can I say! The worst Chinese meal in the area, thought we would give it a try as our normal takeaway was closed. The so called curry was like an orange soup with absolutely no taste, the chicken was processed & slimly, chicken fried rice was tasteless with hardly anything in it, not to mention the other dishes. Safe to say we will not be returning!!

I do not know what has happened up in this Chinese tonight but I have bought from here for over 20 years and never had a problem. Tonight our food was cold and totally tasteless, there was no taste to anything so much so we all took lateral flow tests to ensure we did not have Covid and our taste senses had not gone. Thankfully they all came back negative. The chips were hard, overcooked and cold and both the curry's, special chow mein and special fried rice had no taste at all! The only good thing I have to say about this tonight was that delivery was very quick (about 15 minutes) which makes me think it was yesterdays left overs, already and waiting (god knows how long) to go out!!! Won't be going here again for a long time, if ever!

Ordered sweet n sour crispy chicken Cantonese style, went straight in the bin tasted more like vindaloo curry.

Food was OK very odd curry sauce we had prawn toast instead of prawn balls and special chow mein instead of chicken chow mein that also tasted of curry for some reason. But the chicken balls and chicken lettuce wraps werw delicious.

Absoultly awful.. waited 2 hours for delivery to recieve bland cold tasteless food. When i complained they asked how much food was consumed to action a refund!! The food would have failed food hygiene standards as it would have failed on the temp... if u want food poisioning for time off work this is the place to eat... avoid

Order quite often from here. Never had a bad experience in dozens of meals. Portions are fairly generous, very tasty, price reasonable. Excellent chicken balls! Also never get 'Chinese Restaurant Syndrome' from their food, so it seems there are no nasty additives. A good choice take away.

food is lovely. but the person who answers the phone couldn’t be more rude. really quiet, mumbles, takes ages to reply. the awful communication leaves almost every order delivered to us incorrect and then leaves us waiting up to 40 minutes (tonight) for the missing items to be delivered. you seriously need to get someone with some manners and people skills to answer the phone

Had a delivery from here and I paid £22.80 for this tray of chips 2 spare ribs and beef curry and a tiny bit of rice Also ordered a bottle of coke ! it’s was not worth the money at all service was awful please avoid this Chineze if you don’t want to be disappointed that’s how it arrived 00 😮😲🤮

It was alright like, just another Chinese at the end of the day. Building was a little run down but the food was nice, nothing really special though. Would go back but would try others first.

Far better quality and portions than the next closest takeaway I recommend the chicken balls and crispy chicken Cantonese style

not very nice, chips was dry not much sauce and i couldnt even tell the difference between the bbq and curry sauce thats how bland it was.

Had family down for the weekend so in all 9 of decided on a chinese take away, only one place for us, so choices made order was phoned in, took just 20 minutes for an absolute stack of food to be ready, lol. Beautiful hot tasty dishes with a free bag of prawn crackers too. There was so much food, the 9 of us had huge platefuls and there is still enough I reckon for two meals for me lol. I can whole heartedly recommend this take away for delicious food, they also do delivery but as we are not far away I collected.

Food is average for price paid. The owners are quite rude and do not like it if you criticise the food. Will not go back unless it changes. Decor needs updating or brightening up very dark and gloomy.

We order from here about every six weeks and we find the service good and the food is nice. Prices appear to be higher if ordering through website, and their discount and rewards system seems to be a bit hit and miss, but that might be just me.

My parents ordered a Chinese from Goldenstar and waited two hours for the food to arrive without even so much as a call to say where they were. They called after two hours and didn't really know when the food would be arriving. Restaurant offered them £2 off which quite frankly isn't good enough, avoid like the plague!

Honestly one of the nicest Chinese I have had !!! Not sickly nor does it have that chemical taste that you often get with sauces eg sweet and sour dish really nice to actually find a decent Chinese which is rare these days

Had visitors last night so decided on a chinese takeaway meal, phoned the Golden Star and place our large order, 10 mins or so later it was ready for collection and, it was absolutely superb, the pancake rolls and chicken balls were gorgeous, as was the curry and the noodles, well worth a visit. It fed 6 hungry adults and..there is enough left for lunch for me tomorrow lol.

I have had many takeaway meals from golden star, some have been good, some have been barely warm or cold when delivered and sometimes the rice has been burnt.

Decidimos que queríamos llevar nuestro té chino para después de un día ajetreado. . Después de leer algunas críticas decidimos probar el Golden Star. Pedido a través de teléfono para envio a domicilio. A 20 minutos de nuestra. había llegado y estaba para llevar bien caliente y hermosa y sabrosa la mejor comida para llevar china tuvimos por un tiempo y había un montón de cosas. Será suficiente para nuestro. El almuerzo y el té de la mañana. Sin duda recomendaría este chino para llevar..

Esposa era ocupado cirugía para casa tarde del trabajo, China estaba decidido, llamó a la orden Golden Star, una orden bastante grande como nuestro hijo y su hija estaban uniéndose junto con la novia de mi hijo. Personal amable dijo "listo en 10 minutos" por el tiempo que me dieron. Y no está lejos, jajaja. Hay que era todo en bolsas y listo junto con algunos "extras" samosas y pan de gambas. Era absolutamente excelente, caliente y muy sabroso y mucho tuve suficiente para dos comidas más, jajaja. No es caro y vale la pena una visita.

Food can take a while to arrive but it's well worth it! Gotta be honest I've never had a complaint about any of the food here and when it's not a Friday of Saturday night the food can arrive quite quickly!

Chop suey was cooked in a sweet sauce as was very sweet and I like chop suey cooked in a soy like sauce, also curry sauce was a very strange red colour and chinese curry sauce is usually a yellow colour
