I’ve had food here before and it was okay but had food last Saturday and it’s been the worse Chinese I have ever had,special fried rice was bland and had a unusual taste, chow main never faired any better nor the curry sauce had a couple of mouthfuls then binned it all, absolutely disgusting

I called in tonight for pie and chips, it would have been a Chinese meal but it has been disappointing since the take over … but I was always impressed with their chips until tonight. I had pie and chips…I didn’t get to the pie as the chips were so disappointing and I lost my appetite. The chips were like scraps and over cooked, just like they had been twice cooked.. So disappointed and that is why I have reviewed them..

Called to explain, the manager refused to talk to me and the person who answered the phone said they had run out of duck. I asked why I wasn't told so I could of ordered something else. No reason was provided. I request a partial refund and this was refused. Will never return here. Not even worth the one star but I couldn't give zero.

This is such a beautiful amazing restaurant i come from Liverpool all the way to pontiypridd just to come and taste this amazing food the egg fried rice is golden and gorgeous the chicken is nice and crispy i freaking love this the new owners have showed who is boss and have taken over in such a nice way food now is way better i love this restaurant!!!

This resturant is the best in town!i live in cardiff and come to pontypridd everytime!this place is amazing and great for cheap takeaways only bad thing is thee wait time is about 7 mins but worth every second

i went to order food and the girl with blonde hair was so rude, and was so unprofessional, also my wife ordered over the phone a few days ago and she sounded like she didn’t care and messed our order up, i’ve been having food food from this takeaway for years now and never had a problem with anything so disappointed 😔

Bloody awful. The young girl serving us continued to eat her own meal at the serving hatch in front of us, drank pop from a can, saying that it made her feel like throwing up, wiped her nose every now and then with her fingers and never once washed her hands. Instead, she wiped her hands on her own clothing. The food was terrible, the place is dirty, hygiene seems to take second place here.

Well this little gem (get it??) Has become our new favourite. With increasing prices I've noticed many take aways in increasing prices but cutting quality too. Not here. I don't mind paying more as we know costs have gone up... But the quality is just as good here. Opens at 4.30 pm and adore proper chips too. Not frozen ones.

Awful customer experience, over half hour wait for a bag of chips and person who came in after me left before me, its a shame but over the last month the service has not been the same

Good food and excellent service. The staff are great and went out of their way to make sure our food was nut free due to allergies.

This place has gone down hill massively. The girl who takes the orders, has got out order wrong a few times before. I called last night, and she is so rude on the phone. I've been going here for 30 odd years and it's always been my favourite. We have started to go to another local Chinese. Such a shame.

Why do we still have to give one star for bad reviews when they dont deserve it . Their place I will not be going back too .6 item order 3 items wrong completely wrong items with food ingredients I cant eat very dangerous to ppl with food allergies and tolerances .had to argue with staff member that they got it wrong tried to blame my wife who placed the order while I was sat next to her so I know what she asked for .it was certainly not what we had in bags .time I got home it was 1030pm two hrs from ordering to actually sitting down to eat it then didnt feel like eating it so it went in the bin .cost a lot more too as they have put up there prices but not changed the web page prices . Very rude staff member will not be going back

Wife ordered 6 items I collected gets home to find 3 items are wrong .goes back (8 mile round trip ) to be argued with .to be told it's not your order woman ordered why you here . Even tho items I cant eat due to food allergies staff member says we asked for that then blamed my wife for asking for them items when I was right next to here when she ordered so I know what she asked for .when they finally agreed to redo the order she added one wrong item again .also prices have been put up by 90p in some items but not on web site photos almost 2hrs from ordering to sitting down to eat then it was 1030pm didnt feel like eating so went I the bin .will never go there again stick to my local take away .

Sorry to write this but felt that it was needed. I have been using this Take Away for many many years and have always been an advocate of it as the quality and standard of food was always high. Unfortunately over the last 2 years, it has deteriorated to an extent now that they are struggling with their chips. Chinese dishes have gone gone from excellent, to good to it’s ok. Service standards dropped as soon as the previous owners left and customer focus and speed of quality service dropped off and seems that the money is their only focus now. After having a large chips, pie, jumbo sausage and curry sauce tonight, it has left me wondering if they will improve back to previous standards. When my wife got back in the car I commented on the unpleasant smell of the chips (chip oil), only to find that when plating up the chips were so bitty, small and thin. And as we had to wait for the chips, these were not the end / dregs of the previous cook. Sausage and pie were ok but the curry sauce tasted quite powdery (not sure if they use a powder mix). Please get back to previous standards as it was one of the best if not the best in the area (in my opinion)…..

Great take away Chinese food. Very good value and quick service even on a busy Saturday evening.

Reheated chewy chips and fish consisting of approximately 90% batter. Won't be going there again.

I'm give a bad rating because I ordered 3 small sausage, a big of chip and bbq surce and it came to £4.90 I gave a ten pound note but only got 10p they scammed me and also they only gave me one sausage.

Never fails to disappoint. We have been eating from here for nearly 20 years and despite moving away it's still a firm favorite.

Always enjoy my weekly order of Excellent food and greeted by Friendly Staff. Pop in and grab my Order and pop Out. Can be a bit of a wait when busy, but i'm sure i order when everyone orders at the same time.

This place has gone to the dogs since the new owners took over. Disgusting food, disgusting service such a shame as it used to be very nice. Avoid like the plague unless you enjoy tasteless slop.

First time we have bought a Chinese here and I must say we all thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff were helpful and really nice. The food was really tasty and boiling hot. This will be our first choice from now on. Thank you.

Miserable staff, food ok at best. Don't take cards only cash. It's 2020 who doesn't take cards these days? Hygiene rating hasn't improved from 1 star since 2018, I gave them a chance, but I will be avoiding them in future.

Not very impressed, place seems to be under new management, spent £37 on chinese and the only thing decent was the chips, items were missing from the order, service was abysmally slow (45 min wait), not even an apology, no banter, staff dont seem to talk to each other or even speak pigeon English. Rubbish.

New owners as of 2 weeks ago avoid like the plague EVERYTHING total garbage everything very very very greasy and stone cold. After waiting an hour and seeing them get lots of orders totally wrong and only 1 or 2 of them speak english and then the english speaking one is just cooking chips and not serving it's a recipe for disaster. Total crap. Do not go there. I been going there on and off for the past 25+ years but I'll never ever go there again. Previous owners lovely and faultless every time bring back Lin!!!!

Great food again on sunday evening. We ordered Cripsy Beef, Salt and chilli chicken, sweet and sour chicken, noodles amd beef in green peppers and black bean sauce. All lovely and hot with plenty of flavour. The one downside was I thought the sweet and sour sauce was a little thin but still tasted good. The only place I buy chinese takeaway from in Pontypridd 😁

Absolute rubbish! Lazy attempt! Processed chicken in the curry! Raw onions not even cooked! Paid £13.75 for chicken curry rice & chips large jumbo sausage and 2 poppadoms. Embarrassing. Don’t bother. This is not Chinese food.

Staff are friendly and the food is tasty. Always have my order ready in under 20 minutes. Definitely recommend the lemon chicken.

Esta es la mejor comida para llevar comida china por unos Kilómetros en mi opinión. Impresionante comida y los dueños muy amigables. Bueno, no, pero siempre se puede entregar su pedido por teléfono y recomiendo hacerlo en un viernes o sábado por la noche, ya que está muy ocupado. He visto algunas observaciones sobre ellos no tomar tarjetas. Tiendo a utilizar mi tarjeta para todo, pero hay una reintegros en cajeros al otro lado de la carretera así que no te preocupes :).

Un gran negocio familiar llevar, en donde siempre recibirá una cálida bienvenida y un buen servicio. Pescado y patatas fritas son nuestro favorito pero también ofrece una extensa fish and chips tradicional comida de cafetería junto con menú chino. Pescado es fresco pero bien vale la pena esperar un poco. El testimonio de la calidad de la comida y de una buena relación calidad-precio es del tamaño de cola en las horas punta, pero no te desanimes pues el servicio es muy rápido. No sueño de ir a ningún otro sitio para el pescado, patatas fritas y salsa de curry ... absolutamente delicioso.

There is always an excellent choice on the menu. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. The food is of an exceptional quality. My only gripe is that they do not accept credit cards. Visit on a regular basis and never had a bad meal

Great food but they dont take cards. We are in the 21st century now, try and keep up. Food is great and well priced but for those of us that don't bother carrying cash its a bit of a nuisance.

We've been customers at Diamond house for many years and we usually have takeaways from Diamond house twice a month.... sweet n sour sauce is tops curry sauce amazing!! Chicken chowmein wowwww!! Rice yummmyyy!! Chicken balls delish!!! Never had a bad dish to be honest and would recommend to anyone!Extremely efficient and friendly staff...

Very friendly staff found here and a wide selection of food available however it is quite greasy and this does compromise the taste of the product (crispy beef is terrible and too saucy) It's a shame as the people here really are nice and it's my most local Chinese

My wife and I order once a week from this establishment (usually to eat while watching X Factor). We've ordered 15 or so times by now. We will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. The Peking beef, Chicken Cantonese style, and crispy beef are all wonderful options. Other items (like their egg fried rice and vegetable egg rolls) are also wonderful. We've yet to encounter any item that we didn't enjoy.
