The best restaurants serving British food in Trearddur Isle of Anglesey North Wales

We've been visiting the White Eagle for the past 15 years or so. It's consistently brilliant both from a service and food perspective. Today we called in after a bracing walk with our two dogs along the beautiful coastal path. We were looking forward to hearty lunch. The welcome was, as usual, super-warm and friendly. The team are just fabulous. They always remember our dogs, make a big fuss, and offer them treats (after asking us, of course!) We're both vegan and finding good food out is still difficult. We were delighted to see a 'Root vegetable hot pot with garlic and rosemary potatoes' on the 'specials' menu. It was absolutely delicious. Just what we wanted. It's surprising how few places are able to cook both plant-based and non-plant based food well and at affordable prices. The Eagle do, and do it superbly well. We can't wait to go back. :)

The place was full , festive decor , bouncing vibe . Kudos to the manager and staff who were run off their feet , we ordered some snacks “see the photos” they were flavoursome . A happy new year to the management and staff of the Driftwood - good luck for 2025

lovely relaxed atmosphere in this licensed cafe on a campsite and very good food, large portions too. Service was friendly and efficient. Prices reasonable. Really can't fault it. The campsite was a different matter, one of the worst I've ever been to. So stay somewhere else but pop into the cafe, they deserve your business.

Lovely surroundings, wonderful friendly and helpful staff especially Caitlin who served us with a smile. Fantastic food as always, wish you had seabass on the menu in winter Dawn and Colin

We visited today with friends after a walk along the Welsh Coastal Path. We had two dogs with us, so we sat outside. After queueing and placing our order, our food was brought out quickly, and it was all delicious. The ham in the sandwiches was proper butcher’s ham, thick cut. My son had the home made sausage roll, and it was very good. You could tell it was home made, with lots of sausage meat and flaky pastry. I had the vegetarian lasagne, which was really good. I also had one of the delicious cherry scones, absolutely yum - fresh and fluffy. Staff were efficient and friendly. Toilets clean. Even the wind blowing our salad around couldn’t put a dampener on our visit! Would 100% return.

The Fruits de Mer dish was probably the worst plate of food put in front of me, ever. The oyster resembled flegm, the crab looked like a burnt offering, and the two scallops were undercooked, unseasoned and tasteless.

Booked in the afternoon for a table for 5:15 as it was our wedding anniversary, no problem booking online and immediately got the confirmation email. We turned up at Standing Stones half an hour early as sometimes we are lucky and get seated earlier especially as we had our daughter with us. We got to the doors to find the place locked up, someone came to the door to open the door and tell us they were closed for a New years eve party and that they had emailed to cancel and tried calling all bookings. At this point I hadn't received a phone call or cancellation email. As a family we were extremely upset as it was out anniversary and we often eat out here.
