Having visited here once last year and not having a great experience (incorrect order and poor quality steak) we decided to give this place another try. We booked in advance, Sun 6pm with the specific intention of enjoying a Sunday roast for our last night of our break. We had a couple of drinks in the hotel bar first (after having to ask for tables to be cleared and cleaned for us to sit down. Not the first time we'd seen such messy tables. We saw customers walk out the night before for the same reason). We went through to the restaurant at 6pm, were seated promptly. We already knew that we would like the Sunday roast so immediately placed our order. Only to be told they had no meat left for a Sunday roast.....No beef, no turkey as advertised on the menu but we could have a lamb shank instead! We didn't want this, we were all looking forward to a roast dinner! I asked what time food was served until (9pm) and asked why at 6pm they had run out of the two meats advertised so early into an evening service? The server just said we don't have any, sorry. We said we'll order some drinks whilst we look again at the menu. I asked for vodka & lemonade, only to be told they had no lemonade and could i order a different drink. Surely a restaurant of this size doesn't run out of lemonade! By this point I couldn't quite believe it so we said forget it, we'll leave it. The weather was horrendous outside this particular night so to walk elsewhere, looking for another restaurant to accomodate us, with a young child and my Mum who is not in great health just was not an option. We ended up just returning home instead. We were extremely disappointed and will not be returning. We gave this place a 2nd try but won't be making the same mistake 3 times!

We had a great lunch here. We told Isabella that we wanted small roast dinners and she immediately said that’s not a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed our roast beef and turkey Isabella checked that everything was alright. We had coffees and the mini desserts, Morgan made the cappuccinos exactly as we liked them. All in all a lovely lunch, thanks the the staff and chefs!

We didn’t particularly fancy this place, however we tried it out. Sophie was our server, what a lovely girl! Our dog was spoilt with affection in the restaurant, the staff are all dog lovers. Our food was really enjoyable, the duck breast was really good quality and nicely cooked, also the cod was so fresh and light. House white wine is cheap and cold :0)We recommend you book, we visited on a Monday evening, 5:30pm and it was full. The decor was slightly mixed up, some bits we liked and other parts needed a rethink. Both Robert and Gareth were very efficient- the staff provided a really professional service. Due to Covid restrictions had booked in advance for a table for two at 1.30pm on 9th June 2021 and chose to select from the Light Lunch menu served from midday till 2.30pm. I had the soup of the day followed by pan fried sea bass and my wife had prawn cocktail followed by 6oz rump steak. Both starters and mains were excellent, my wife’s steak being very good quality and cooked to perfection. She had to catch a waiters eye as it had been served without the peppercorn sauce and this was rectified very quickly. I couldn’t resist finishing off with the seasonal strawberries served in a sundae glass with crushed meringue, whipped cream and strawberry and cream ice cream. Fabulous. Why it’s called a Light Lunch menu I don’t know as we were both stuffed and my wife had just the two courses. Couldn’t fault the staff who were all so pleasant and attentive. At £12 for two and £15 for three it was great value.

Didn’t get toast with pate as advertised it came with a very dry bread also no chutney with it as said on menu. Main course was again ok. Fish was nice duck a bit chewy. Kids enjoyed their meals. Upon arrival we were offered a choice of tables which was super, really appreciated that in these times this was an option. Did our track and trace and our food order was taken in a timely manner. Starters arrived, French onion soup for Mum and Pea fritters for me. The Pea fritters were served with sour cream and chive dip not the lemon and herb mayonnaise as shown on the menu. The soup was lukewarm and had to be sent back, we asked for it just to be microwaved but a fresh bowl was served instead and unfortunately the replacement was saltier than the Dead Sea and inedible. This was thankfully taken off the bill.Main courses arrived and Mums fish and chips were as expected, good fish (she chose the smaller portion). I had the chefs pie of the day which was described and ham and leek with mash and cheese topping. My expectations of a creamy ham and leek pie were very far from the dish that was served. It was akin to cooking bacon in a badly made powdered gravy (a ball of unmixed gravy powder remained in it like a ball of soil) and was, quite frankly, unacceptable. The mash was nice, ruined by the filling. I was offered a dessert to apologise but don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Left happy with the service from the waitress, unhappy at how despite a manager being advised of the situation, they declined to speak to me in person. I advised the waitress when asked that it has put me off returning.

We had three meals at the Inn, as we were staying nearby. My husband and I are vegetarians, but I will eat fish occasionally. The first night I had the sea bass with roast potatoes, green vegetables and what they called a Gazpacho sauce which was more a fresh tomato salsa. The fish was fresh and nicely grilled and the vegetables tasty and not overcooked, I also liked the tomato salsa which added a nice flavour to it. My husband had the cheese and onion pie with the cheese sauce and thick cup chips and peas. He enjoyed it as it tasted home made and was a copious portion. I had the same the 2nd night and couldn't finish it, the portion was too big for me but I still enjoyed it and the mash was good. My husband had the garden burger which a big let down. The bun wasn't toasted as mentioned in the menu, nor did it come with the advertised cheese sauce. The skinny fries were underdone and therefore soggy and the burger a strange mix of breaded green vegetables, not very nice. He reverted to the pie and me the bass for the 3rd night. I must say the vegetarian and vegan options are not great and the burger not nice at all. Improvements in this field need to be made, and the Inn will get some Excellent reviews.

My family visited this restaurant today before leaving for home. We have been many time over the years and I have to say it gets better and better. The food was excellent and we all cleared our plates. There’s a varied menu and all very reasonably priced. The service is what makes this place stand out from other local establishments that are currently open. We hadn’t booked but were given a table straight away. The two waitresses that attended to us were attentive and friendly and took time to chat to us about developments happening in the area. It’s lovely to get such personal service, something that is a rarity now a days. This place is dog friendly with our puppy getting a couple of dog biscuits. The children played on the play area while we finished our drinks. The planning to make this Covid secure is impeccable. We will be back as soon as we can. Thankyou for a lovely visit

Booked in here first night of our stay, starters of garlic mushrooms and Mediterranean prawns were lovely, sadly I can’t say same about rib eye steak my husband ordered ! My small fish and chips were nothing to write home about either, fish was nicely cooked but batter was tasteless as if forgotten to season it ! Jenny served us, my husband tried cutting steak with the steak knife which a plastic knife would have done better, when she came to see how everything was I had finished and he was still trying to cut it, I asked if they had a sharper knife and she brought a “ normal knife “ this still wouldn’t cut either, she said “ is that better “ he told her he couldn’t be bothered trying anymore at this she shrugged her shoulders and said “ well you just can’t tell with steaks till you cut them can you “;no apologies and this steak was pennies short of £20 ! We were going to eat again but not after this performance and bought picnics instead ! . Following night we went just for a drink Jenny served us the 2nd drinks when we finished we set off back through hotel to our rooms, she was attending customers entering, I realised I hadn’t put my mask on and did so as we had passed she shouted HOY we both turned around and I though we must be going wrong way, top of her voice she said “ have you paid ? In front of the couple at the door ! My husband said “ well it was going on room like last night ! She said. “ well I don’t know your room number ! “ well she had served us night before and didn’t ask when she brought our 2nd round of drinks either !

The Inn At The Bay is a restaurant and bar attached to the Trearddur Bay Hotel and is open to the public. Although we were not staying at the Hotel itself, we decided (because of Covid restrictions and the need for reservations) to pre-book for every evening at The Inn At The Bay for our recent holiday in Trearddur Bay. And we were glad that we did! There is a good choice of meals on the menu, including vegetarian options, and we were never disappointed. I can particularly recommend the Coq au Vin, which was absolutely superb, although the battered cod, the lamb shank, the steak & ale and cheese & onion pies, the steaks and the gammon were all extremely tasty and well-prepared. A children's menu is also available. For those who just want a drink or two there is a separate bar area away from the main restaurant. The service is second to none, and all the staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. On arriving, you need to check in with a test and trace app: the Hotel's own app and the NHS app are both available. You are also asked to use the hand sanitiser provided. All the tables are well-spaced apart for distancing and the staff all wear face coverings. Diners are also required to wear coverings until they are seated, and again upon leaving the premises.Because of the quality of the meals, the reasonable prices and the excellent standard of the service I would have no hesitation in recommending The Inn At The Bay to anyone.

Over priced food for the quality, both my starter and main lacked much flavour, quite disappointing. Service was atrocious, I asked what gins they had and just going told "oh loads" I ordered the safe bet of Gordon's pink gin with ice but no fruit (it came with fruit in it) my partner asked what fruit ciders they have and "Oh that Strongbow black thingy (Strongbow dark fruit)" was the response he got however we knew there were more options after seeing Bulmers being served seconds after placing our drinks order. 15 mins later our starters came, but we still had no drinks because I seen them serving a bulmers I knew they had more on offer. 15 mins later our starters came but still no drinks. Asked the waiter where our drinks were to be told we would have to ask the bar, however due to covid rules we weren't supposed to leave our table... 10 mins later I had finished my starter and still had no drinks. It was only about 5 mins later our drink came with our mains.... So about 35 mins after placing the order, poor that a restaurant can get food out quicker than drinks, and I know we weren't the only table with this issue as I overheard at least 2 other tables asking where their drinks were.

Overall Poor Experience.Had to book online, wouldn’t entertain walk ups.Covid procedures ok - not a fan of having to pay for each round of drinks, food orders etc as we went - How on earth can a Bar/restaurant not run a tab?No itemised bill offered at any point, just CC receipts for each order.Had to wait 50 minutes for food to arrive (less than 10 tables occupied, inside and outside).2 meals arrived, had to request the remaining 4 from a flustered and zero customer focused “manager”.2 x fish and chips came without lemon or tartare sauce.Lamb rump was offered pink or well done. We requested pink, it came out well done-cremated.Had to go to request more drinks after 1 hour.No check back from MOD - no ownership of the customer experience. Not convinced the J W Lees Family are aware of how poorly this place is being operated.Shame - Brilliant Location, some decent concepts, just poor, unprofessional execution.

Visited whilst on a break in Treaddur Bay. Booked ahead and requested high chairs. Outdoor seating only due to covid restrictions. High chair didn't reach the table and no table top provided for the high chair which meant it impossible for my little one to feed herself. Just wish this would have been explained prior to arrival as I could have made alternative arrangements.Lady on arrival explained the whole process and made sure everyone sanitised hands, explained the one way system. However we saw several members of staff going the wrong way (through the no entry) and even one guided a customer that way!!!!WiFi was temperamental in the garden meaning our waiter couldn't process our food order electronically (payment also proved difficult and he had to return to us a short time later). This lead to an error in our order (he had to write it down) and my husband's order was missed. The waiter apologised (once we finally found a member of staff). Another member of staff brought the meal out and said "you've ordered another burger" to which we replied "not another, it was missed from the order"!! His manner was awful. He then, in front on us told another member to make sure we were charged for it!!!!!!!!!! Fortunately a waitress heard this and sent over (we assume) the manager who apologised and assured us we wouldn't be charged. I should hope not too!!!!Rest of the food was ok, apart from the scampi was very over cooked/hard and the crinkle chips were vile.In addition to the above, some staff weren't wearing their face masks properly, including the manager that came to the table. You'd may as well not bother if you aren't going to place them over your nose too!!I won't return because the food wasn't great and the fact they can't follow the recommendations for correct wearing of ppe.

We visited Inn at the bay during the covid-19 restrictions and the service was fantastic! Cathy was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The gluten-free options were amazing and the food was unreal! All food was served on plates and not in takeaway boxes unlike other places we have visited. We will definitely be returning and recommending to everyone who comes to Anglesey. Thank you :)

We discovered that we had to book a table in advance and were lucky enough to get in for Sunday lunch outside in the garden. The restaurant was very well organised with their COVID measures including a one way system and hand sanitiser. Jenny did a fantastic job looking after us, particularly our young son Rory who has a dairy allergy. The chef made a special vegan pizza and he even enjoyed two scoops of dairy free ice cream! We all had a great time, would certainly recommend to others but remember to book in advance.

Great service when we visited today during covid restrictions. Jenny in particular absolutely went out of her way to find a vegan pudding for me which wasn’t on the menu. Excellent service under the circumstances. Thank you. We’ll be back!

All rules on social distancing, wearing masks/visors, one way systems & sanitising all followed. We felt very safe eating here. Booking through website, in advance. 2 course option £12.00. 3 courses £15.00. Very good value.

We visited on two occasions and were made to feel welcome. Food was really good and a good selection of options on the menu. We had Jenny as our waitress on both occasions and she was really friendly and helpful. Visiting during a time when meals can only be served outdoors but this was really well organised and social distancing observed at all times.

Fantastic service by the staff here. Did everything they could to follow covid guidelines without being too dictatorial. Really attentive staff and lovely food. Great value! Would return again.

My dog and I are frequent visitors here. I mainly go for the ale but my dog likes it when I get food :) Staff are friendly. They usually have at least 1 guest ale and in peak season perhaps 2 guest ales along with the usual JW Lees mild and a pale ( plus Guinness and lagers etc. )Dog friendly in the bar but of course not the restaurant, though you can have food in the bar, they have dog water bowls handy. Decent music playlist in the background.I noticed other reviews saying it can be slow to get served in the bar but use your common sense, they have 2 bars back to back, if the staff don't notice you immediately then 1 of them is probably busy serving food leaving 1 member to cover both sides of the bar, if there is nobody in the pub bar then walk a few feet to the restaurant side to get noticed sooner, simples!I'll be back. most weeks :p

Have eaten here while previously visiting T’ Bay and have enjoyed the food but last night I ordered steak pie, the pie had a thick crust and the steak inside the pie was dry with a small pot of gravy on the side it was accompanied by the smallest pot of mushy peas imageable and ‘frozen’ cooked chips. On the up side the staff were lovely.

The Inn at the Bay is a great pub with reasonably priced food. My husband had steak and I had sea bass. Both were great. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Its adjoined to The Treardurr Bay hotel which is handy if you're staying there.

Visited a few times during our weekend stay, the conservatory is lovely but we couldn’t get a table so had to sit in the pub area for our evening meal. They are very understaffed with only 2 staff members working which ment we was stood at bar for ages waiting to get served/pay bill.Food was ok.. I had the curry platter and the curry itself was mostly roasted veg and a sauce, pretty random for a Chicken tikka masala! But the rest of the parties meals were good!

Awful meal here last night. Burger patties were so thin. The pie was mainly thick stodgy pastry. If you want microwaveable meals at overinflated prices book yourself in. All felt like something served from a van in a car park.

This is one of my favourite places usually but today was very disappointing. We were a party of 4 including 2 children. We managed to get a table straight away which showed it wasn't overly busy, we ordered our food at the bar and waited and waited and waited. People were cancelling their orders and leaving but we decided to wait it out as the children were happy to play in the play area. 75 minutes later most of our food arrived but missing a side order and one child meal which we had to ask for. I decided not to complain at the time as the very few staff around seemed to be having the day from hell already. It really wasnt good enough though and I feel the management need to up their game considerably. The Staff however were pleasant and courteous. I don't blame them at all, it was just very understaffed and goodness knows what was up in the kitchen today. At the moment it upsets me to say there are better places to eat in the area.

You won't be spoilt for choice at the Inn on the bay. It has its own traditional pub type room at the end with TV. The main bar\ restaurant area accomodates many which is good as demand is massive. Pool parties for kids are popular & the Inn restaurant accomodates them well. Yes kids may run around a bit but how nice it is to see a venue which offers this option allowing both kids & adults to have a goo time.Staff ask you to find a table & someone will be over to take your order, not all places do this. Even whilst having a drink & nearing the end of my first pint & about to go to the bar to get another, the staff were straigh over to ask "would you like another beer sir?"-fabulous service. An easy decision to come back. We ate there on Saturday. I opted for the large fresh fish & chips & struggled to finish it. What a great meal. Already looking forward to visiting again when we next come back. Can't fault but can only recommend.

This pub food bar is attached to and run by the Trearddur Bay hotel and serves reasonably priced pub meals. It is in a decent location within a couple of minutes walk to the promenade and is a decent alternative to the bars other and restaurants in the area.

We were staying at Trearddur Bay Hotel and chose to eat at this inn attached to the Hotel rather than in its restaurant. The menu was varied and interesting and there were quite a few items on it that I would have liked. I chose the sea bass with pasta and a creamy sauce which was delicious . My husband had the steak pie. The Inn is set back from the seafront but still has some views of the sea. There is a good choice of drinks and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Been coming here for some 19 years or so mainly for a drink. Food years ago was good pub food standard. Ate there tonight without any pre-expectations of a memorable culinary experience (we’d left it too late to prepare dinner for the kids and was a convenience stop). Pre-expectations of non-memorable experience was probably setting the bar a bit high in hindsight. Food was terrible. All warmed up frozen food. Chips were a particular lowlight. Chunky chips were hard and chewy, whilst fries were soggy and still semi frozen. Complained and was told the kitchen would be informed. Not great.

Our visit in August was a total disaster. Because we were a party of 6 with two wheel chairs, a table was booked in advance. Not ready. A wait until someone spoke to us. Another wait while a table was positioned. Even then it only seated 4. A wait until we were able to place our orders. A long wait before the meals arrived. Vegetables undercooked. Roast potatoes overcooked. Mashed potatoes missing with one meal being the wrong order. Eventually, another long wait before being asked if we were ready to order dessert. (The member of staff who originally took our order was seen going home). Two orders for the Eton Mess were pure sugar. It turned out that the main ingredient, vanilla ice cream, was totally missing.

Very unsatisfying visit. I paid £13.95 for a tower burger which wasn't deeper than 2 inches. When I took it back to the bar to tell the staff I wasnt going to pay for it. The manager took it off me to say this is not what I ordered. He brought it back to me an said the pulled pork was missing so it had a bit added. I spent £60 on 3 meals and 4 drinks. It's really over priced on the food and drink. A pint of San Miguel is £5.90. A pint of blackcurrant cordial is £1.10.

We went to the Inn at the Bay for a family meal during the August Bank Holiday weekend. Even though it was extremely busy, as we anticipated, they managed to fit our party of 10 in. We received a warm welcome and our drinks arrived promptly. Even though it was very busy our meals arrived in good time and the food was of a really high pub food standard.

The service was slow and certain members of staff were rude and unhelpful. The male manager didn’t handle a complaint about a delay in food professionally. The food was ok, lots of variety in the menu. Nice outdoor area and play area, dogs allowed inside and out. Visit spoilt by a poor service.

Have a caravan in t bay and had not been to the restaurant for a while. My it has certainly gone down market. We arrived and couldn’t be accommodated in the main restaurant that’s fine we hadn’t booked so we went in beach huts outside. The garden was strewn with paper and glasses that were not removed all the time we were there. The beach huts were shabby and dirty and the garden full of pot holes that were dangerous. The heaters did not work in several of the huts. One ripped from the wall ???We ordered our meals and sat down we waited 50 mins for our starters after a prompt by us and then a further 40 mins for our main courses to arrive. Whilst the food was adequate we felt despite paying a lot of money ie the same price as those inside we had been completely forgotten outside. Unfortunately we will not be returning again which is a shame I think other restaurants in the area offer more value in service than this one.

We booked for a family meal and wanted to try all the restaurants in Trearddur Bay as it was our first visit to Anglesea. We were encouraged by all the excellent reviews The Inn At The Bay has recieved lately but we were really disappointed with our own experience. We were a party of two adults and one child and we were greeted by a really friendly waitress who then served us throughout our meal - we could not fault her - she was super friendly and helpful but it was the food that really let it down for us not the staff. Firstly though the 2 drinks took forever to come out - I would estimate about 20 minutes which is too long in my opinion. Small glass of white wine was really overpriced for what turned out to be a vinegary Sauvignon Blanc. I ordered the belly pork (specifically for the crackling which is really the only reason to order belly pork). However what arrived can only be described as pork under a lump of fat almost as if the meat was boiled in the bag but not grilled whatsoever to create crackling, honestly it was pure soggy fat and totally inedible. I called a member of staff over who to be fair did apologise and replaced the dish with one that was cooked to perfection - excellent crackling. How can you get it so wrong though ? The roast dinner was below average almost like a school dinner and in my opinion hugely overpriced. BLT and fries were 'ok'. Don't get me wrong we expected pub style food but at these prices we hoped for great quality but unfortunately it was not the case. With other eateries in Trearddur Bay offering better food for a similar price I hope it was just an 'off day' in the kitchen.

Doesn't look much from the car park. Go through the arch to the beer garden, it's like the wardrobe to Narnia. Open fronted glamping pod, table in a boat, an unbelievable Hobbit house, fully furnished, with books in a bookcase. Go down the steps to the garden terrace overlooking the bay. Comfy and sheltered seating, with stunning views. Is dog friendly too. The beer is no worse a price than tourist places. And is a decent pint. Ignore the naysayers. It's a very pleasant place for relaxing with a drink. We will be returning.
