We had salt and pepper squid which was nice and tender, salt and pepper chicken wings which was a very small portion and the skin wasn’t crispy on the wings though they were quite tasty. We had pudding chips and mushy peas, the portion size was big but the chips were not very nice at all. We also had breakfast in the restaurant which was mediocre to say the least, the bacon was very hard it was ok but nothing special. Not somewhere I will return to!

This restaurant was very disappointing. While my wife's meal was v good, my order of sea bass was very poor. The serving of fish was way too small and it appeared they had filled the plate up with potatoes to hide the fact. The seasonal greens were 70% kale with a couple of pieces of broccoli and a few green beans. When I complained that the fish serving was too small a serving and suggested they had tried to compensate by using more potatoes and kale, they tried to blame their policies for this and only offered a paltry 10% discount. I suggest you avoid this restaurant until they improve their customer focus!

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Trearddur Bay. We ate here on the first night and returned virtually every evening after. The staff are brilliant, polite, pleasant and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food here is really good, there were 8 of us in our party and we never had a meal that we disliked. Portion sizes are good and the food is cooked to perfection. Would not hesitate to recommend to friends or family coming to Trearddur and we will definitely be back next year.

They’ve got a great chef at the “Driftwood” (not sure if the owner knows that, treasure him) and everything we ate on Saturday night is right up there with the Sea Shanty. Do have the chicken wings, they are delicious as was the local lamb chops, fish and chips and beef/chicken sizzlers ! Real chips and the nicest gravy I’ve had in quite some time. Excellent cask ale to wash everything down with and staff that can’t do enough for you. We will be back, you lovely people xxx

It took a second or two to realise the veg was in front of the meat, rather than after, as I am used to elsewhere. This does slightly slow down filling your plate, but not really a problem as you are likely to be there with friends. Basically I loved it. Everything was as it should be. I can see this becoming the default Sunday lunch when we are in the vicinity

We took a while to find this place - intending to visit the actual beach. However it was so windy & I at least didn’t have the footwear we decided to have a drink in the bar & then head back to mainland. I got the impression that the owners (?? new) were renovating their accommodation especially. Anyway we had a warm welcome from staff, ordered our drinks (double Bacardi & Diet Coke for me) & a lager for hubby. Prices were very reasonable. We sat in the conservatory area & then outside (with view of golf course). Although we didn’t eat there the smell from the kitchen was appetising & menu prices were very reasonable compared to other places. Have to comment about the road-signs in Anglesey generally as they are very confusing - even with google maps. Although we knew which road to take we kept ending up being directed back to where we had come from. In end we decided to head for Ferry port & take things from there

We had been here several time a couple of years ago and been quite happy. We booked a table for 2 in advance for Thursday evening. When we arrived we found there was a function in progress which was very noisy with a large number of children present. We were given a table in the bar right outside the toilet,. certainly not what we expected. The food was no where near of the standard or quality we received in the past. Everything seemed rushed. Had we been made aware that this was going on we would not have booked and regret that we actually stayed and honoured our booking

Having seen good reviews on TA we decided to give it a try. The tatty sign on the side of the road should have forewarned us of what was to come. As we approached the outside of the building it was obvious the the sign matched its generally tatty and unkempt state. Essentially it's a bar with a large plastic conservatory on the side of the building that comprises the Driftwood restaurant. We were met by friendly and helpful staff and certainly they score well here. The food is simple with all the pub favourites available. The decor and seating is equally plain with a distinct feeling that nothing has been renewed since the 80's. Unfortunately my visit to the gent's was distinctly unpleasant having a strong odour of stale urine it was obvious that regular cleaning isn't bothered with. Won't be going back I'm afraid.

Lovely food and staff. However, Covid controls are not being enforced. A group of 15 golfers were staying over for a few days, enjoying a few beers and food but were clearly ignoring current Covid controls eg standing at the bar/ordering and drinking, not wearing masks, zero social distancing amongst them. The location and initial impressions are not great but once in you soon dismiss this. We booked through facebook messenger and staff were very responsive though got our booking slightly wrong by 1 person. But this didnt cause an issue and we were seated in the conservatory. Staff were great, fully masked and patient answering questions and advising on choices. Children's meals were good and large portions for a reasonable price. Adult meals were really tasty. I had the Steak pie and it was thick and tasty with lots of meat. My wife had pan seared seabass again tasty and pleantiful and other meals of curry and hunters chicken also tasty. Dined here several times during our holiday, and were never disappointed. We had different dishes and all were really tasty and a plentiful amount. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Couldn't wish for more.

Don’t be put off by the outside!!! We where a party of 13, the staff were great, friendly efficient, didn’t mind the kids playing even offered to take family photos for us. We took a birthday cake for one of the grandchildren and they offered ice cream to go with it for the children

We booked a table to try out somewhere different to eat. Did read previous reviews which we thought even before our visit unkind and pretty harsh but that's people for you.

Although the food on this plainly non-ambitious menu was OK to good, although one dish, Beef & Ale pie, was almost impossibly salty, we waited over an hour for it to arrive. They were catering for two large parties and really shouldn’t have taken our booking as they were clearly struggling to cope. The staff did however make efforts to help, but the overall effect was disappointing after the high Tripadvisor rating it held. The decor and ambience, as previously noted by others, was rather tacky and jaded and does the Driftwood no favours.

Owner took order for drinks and food. Drinks came quickly however we waited over 40 mins for 3 panini sandwiches and a slice of cake. People were served food before us that ordered after us. We even carried our food to the table when we chased it up. Food was edible but not enjoyable Even had to wait 15 mins before we could pay. No apology from the owner, only a thank you for being patient while waiting to pay. Owner was on her own, if we had been informed of this and menu shortened, wouldn’t have such issues and very surprised that was trading without any help. Wouldn’t return and wouldn’t recommend

Going on the strength of other reviews, we booked a table in the dog friendly area of The Crown. Having had and a 2 hour walk beforehand, a well deserved refuelling stop. Quite chilly in that area of the pub. Cheap lunch menu. Specials board more expensive. We had Scampi & fries, small battered cod & chips. Both came with peas. I had much higher expectations and was disappointed in the portion size(5 scampi pieces). Would consider giving it another try sometime, go in the evening and dine in the restaurant area. Pay the more expensive dinner prices, in the hope that the food would not be cooked from frozen and the portion sizes would be satisfying.

Heard good things so thought I would visit. Food was great and price even better. Only downside locals very vocal shouting in there. But all in all would recommend

This is a fantastic place to eat . Food is excellent and copious. I had a steak pie and I could hardly finish it. Still had room for sponge pudding though. Staff are good. Come here.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. The special roast was a braised lamb shank which was exceptional and my wife’s roast beef was as good. Good size portions and quality ingredients, got to say the roast parsnips were out of this world. Catered for my gluten intolerance too. Definitely will return and soon.
