Having had a caravan nearby for a few years, we had often walked past the outside of the restaurant. We had read the reviews and always wanted to have meal, but never seemed to get around. Needing to be at the van on a Monday, and staying over on a Sunday then we decided to take advantage a book in for a Sunday roast dinner. Having fair expectations we booked and arrived at the restaurant….. Wow… Home cooked food, with exceptional taste… fantastic friendly service and overall reasonable price for the quality of food. Yes we will be back and won’t leave it so long…

Worth calling in but check when open first. The fishpie and the cheese & onion pie are very good. Unusual fruity salad. Try their hot chocolate - ott marshmallows & chocolate accompaniments. Very friendly, down to earth seaside cafe, maybe a bit pricey & the helpings could be a little smaller with a price cut for the lunch market as its not for dinner. We all enjoyed going there & what was on offer & the staff are lovely.

This may be one of the best one star experiences we have had, the journey that Stephen takes you is amazing. The ingredients are interesting and some unusual but the way that the are combined give a unique dining experience. The restaurant outside does not give it justice, as the name states it’s the butcher shop, when you enter via the side door you are greeted by Mathew who shows you to the very nice laid tables. There is no wine list but they offer a wine flight that accompanies the meal and a selection of aperitif focused on local producers. Stephen introduced each course with passion. I want to say what we had, so you can also have the same amazing experience, taken pictures of each dish. Would highly recommend this place. And thanks to Stephen, Mathew & Claire for a great night.

Had an early table booked for dinner today, and what a good idea it was.It had been a beautiful day and the view from the Hotel that contains the Tonnau restaurant is truly spectacular. We had a drink from the bar and took in the view whilst pondering over the menu which is quite comprehensive for all tastes. My wife chose the sea bass on a bed of veg and I chose the Italian chicken with mash and veg. These mains were beautifully cooked and presented hot and fresh. The desserts were duperb also and we retired back to the bar for coffee. The dining room is nicely presented with plush carpet and soft furnishings. The bar and lounge is also luxuriously fitted out and of course has the view. All staff were friendly and efficient and we had s really nice evening.

Steak was divine, served by attentive, friendly staff, veg and potato cooked how I like them and dessert of the day !! I could have had cream, custard or ice cream with my crumble or all 3 ! I used my self discipline and had just cream 😂😂 absolutely fabulous 👌

We had arrived at our hotel earlier than expected and hoped that we would be able to get a snack or sandwich, but were politely told that food wasn’t served during the day. However we were directed to Blueberries in the town. We had to pay £1 to park the car as this was also where a market was held each Saturday. The menu was really quite extensive including a selection of salads, paninies, salads, ice creams, and Welsh cakes. There was also a selection of teas and coffees.

Brilliant night with my family and my 86 year old Mum,busy but not too noisy as my Mum is partially deaf. Food was great, service with an energetic smile...certainly recommend the scallops...notice the plural, you only get one 😉 the broth is amazing though so let that one slide. Brisket v good, the star was the chicken Kiev roulade. Definitely worth a visit.
