Popped to cardigan and started looking for some food, as we were about to give up the wife saw an A frame for this pub so I looked it up on Tripadvisor. Mostly positive reviews but one caught our eye moaning nearly every table had a dog at the table. Our sort of place. Upon entering I laughed out loud at the sight of 3 large leonbergers that were beautifully behaved behaved (our little dachshund said his thoughts at the giants in front of him but settled). Onto the food, drink and staff. No complaints at all (they do need to fix the speaker near the toilets as it’s blown and makes a low level brr noise to the music but that’s minor) I had the fish and chips as I never order that in a pub and fancied it and my wife ordered a burger. Both were really tasty (the burger was an impressive thickness) All in all happily recommend (other dogs turned up during our stay, never trust a reviewer that doesn’t like dogs lol

No complaints about the quality of the food [we chose fish, chips, peas from an extensive menu]. Our service was also satisfactory and the bar is well stocked and not overly expensive. But the owners really need to try a bit harder. The corner of the bar area boasts a collection of builders materials. There is no heating, An ill fitted TV adorns the back wall and there are panels missing exposing plumbing in the toilets. Add the bewildering allowance of dogs in the dining area and what could be an excellent dining experience is left in the somewhat disappointing category. A pity because they get an awful lot right and the location is awe inspiring.

Great little pub, only a few miles out of Aberystwyth on the Devil’s Bridge Rd- well worth a visit from the town or even a detour if you’re in the area. Lovely sympathetic upgrade of an historic pub, with a beautiful beer garden outside and multiple different areas, including bar and restaurant. Fabulous food and wine, a range of beers on tap and a great atmosphere . Friendly, efficient service is the icing on top. Great spot to spend a night out, lunch or anytime- highly recommended

On holiday and struggled finding somewhere open for lunch. Service was fantastic, so friendly and welcoming. Food was OK, I think as it was an off peak time the oil wasn't hot enough as it didn't make any noise when cooking, food was soggy and oily. Had fish and chips, price was reasonable, good portion.

Maybe I saw this place at its worst, early on a Thursday evening when I was the only customer. It might be better at 10pm when you are with a bunch of friends and have been to several other hostelries first. The bar is large, with a vast barn behind to accomodate a large number of drinkers who never seem to be present. The barmaid was pleasant enough and served me with a pint of non-descript cold but drinkable beer. I did not eat here or see any signs of what food might be on offer. I remember this pub when it was the Prince Albert, a favourite with rugby players and usually fairly busy...but that was half a century ago. this sparse review is all I can say now.
