Maybe I saw this place at its worst, early on a Thursday evening when I was the only customer. It might be better at 10pm when you are with a bunch of friends and have been to several other hostelries first. The bar is large, with a vast barn behind to accomodate a large number of drinkers who never seem to be present. The barmaid was pleasant enough and served me with a pint of non-descript cold but drinkable beer. I did not eat here or see any signs of what food might be on offer. I remember this pub when it was the Prince Albert, a favourite with rugby players and usually fairly busy...but that was half a century ago. this sparse review is all I can say now.

This was taken over and refurbished 6 months ago apparently. It looks as tired and dingy as ever,it used to be OK for a Pint but even this has become sub-standard. Tread carefully when going to the loo and when choosing your Beer it is rarely on and even easy too keep Beer is often stale or off so only the brave or uninitiated would Eat here.It managed with a good atmosphere and local clientele even towards the change over but now its closed all day and most evenings it's lost this now as well. It has gone from being one of the best it Town especially 6 nations day's to the worst Pub in town.

First ever breakfast at Wetherspoon I was in Aberystwyth and hungry so I gave it a try. Absolute disaster. Cold and rubbery eggs, cold bacon and beans. They asked half way through if I would like another one but as they couldn’t get the first one right why bother. Pity because it wasn’t busy but obviously just left sitting there until someone remembered to bring it out. Never again, no excuses it was disgustingl.

I'm a new addition to the Cardigan community and wanted to find a local watering hole to settle into and enjoy a couple of quiet pints on my own, and the Grosvenor looked to be a nice place next to the river with some fairly good beers on tap. I've been there a handful of times and each time has generally been a negative experience. It seems that if you are a bloke on your own you are singled out for poor treatment by staff and regular punters. Expect unwelcoming and rude staff, insults from locals, and being harassed from a table by locals who feel more entitled to the space you are taking up. Just horrendous all round, and I won't be going back. Surely there's a pub in Cardigan where you're not treated like a pariah.

Great food, fast service. We took the dogs with us in there. They have a doggy station which has treats, water and doggy bags. Highly recommend the fish and chips. Better than any fish and chip in aberystwyth

Young bloke server, extremely rude, unhelpful and very smug. Couldn’t believe how rude a member of staff could be, just wanted to order food. Ended up having to get the manager who was then extremely helpful.
