The best restaurants in Ceredigion Mid Wales

Shocked to read all the bad reviews as our chips were amazing and the fish was top notch. Service with a smile and a thank you and goodbye from all the staff when we received our food. Cooked fresh and not a soggy chip in sight.

We ordered chocolate milkshakes which seemed to contain spray can cream, very little milk and very little chocolate. Just like air. Pricey too £5..50 each when the cafe across the road serves great milkshakes at £4.75

Terrible service ordered a 9" pizza burger and came at 8"x 6" and at their prices I expected to get what I payed for ! No offer to remedy the problem just arguments.

Not there, I couldn't find it. The only place was a pub, which obviously isn't a Chinese restaurant

Great food we had fish and chips good size portions lovely location as well right on the beach with a stunning view. I'd recommend sitting upstairs if possible.

The owner went above and beyond for me cooked me a special starter nargis kebab that was not on the menu fully blessed to the owner

Absolutely mental prices for awful quality. Would be the second time iv been here. First time wasn't great but thought I'd give another go. Had the same "card machine broken, cash only" on the till forever.. wonder why that is. Food was gross. Won't be coming back. Also shocking food hygiene rating

We booked and paid for 2 rooms, arrived at 7.30 pm, the place was shut, locked. We asked around locally and were told " You don't want to stay there " and other horror stories.

The cakes are a hit and miss. I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy anything…but if passing it’s an alright cafe. Staff are lovely!

Amazing food! Was actually recommended to go to the Chinese restaurant just down the road to this one, however that was shut when we went so we opted for this. It was the best decision ever! Food was 10/10, price is good, the young boy provided good customer service. This made out trip to wales/snowdon worth it!

After having a bad experience once before we thought we would give the cafe another go..... big mistake !! I appreciate times are difficult at the moment but one member of staff taking orders and making the drinks whilst there was at least 10 people behind me waiting in the queue was ridiculous. I was 2nd in the queue and waited 25 mins for 2 coffees and a hot chocolate, the poor young lad was under pressure but was very polite under the circumstances. Unfortunately when I got to my table our drinks were cold , which was very disappointing given the time we waited for them. I will definitely not be returning again unfortunately. Plenty of other places to get better service and a hot drink . I have worked in this line of business for many years and understand how difficult it can be on times, but given all the bad reviews of the cafe it s time to do something about it !!

A slither of fish, and I MEAN a slither of fish and not much more than a handful of chips in a box equals £9.60, my partners fish was slightly bigger with just a few more chips, so she swapped her box with mine, bless her, and that was another £9.60……total for 2 measly fish and chips was £19.40 , what a joke! Next time it’s going to be just chips only! We can’t afford these ridiculous prices anymore, we’re both agreed on that one!

I visited Aberystwyth over the Easter break with a group of old university friends for our usual annual nostalgic pub and bar crawl Aber experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that Harley's was closed. We later learned from the current students in Aber uni that the bar no longer opens during semester breaks or exam periods. The issue is that this information wasn’t communicated on Harley's Instagram or Facebook pages, leaving us unaware of the change. It felt like a wasted trip, as this was a key stop on our visit. It seems like every time that I'm in Harley's bar it has been disappointing experience. The last time I was in Harley's bar, I realize they only take card payments only, and are limited to alcopops or beer on the taps. No cocktails or special mixes. It’s clear that the new owners either lack the knowledge to run Harley's effectively or simply aren’t interested in keeping Harley’s bar going. Their focus seems to be entirely on promoting their less successful sister venue, The Hoptimist, as seen in their social media posts.
