Harley's in Ceredigion

I visited Aberystwyth over the Easter break with a group of old university friends for our usual annual nostalgic pub and bar crawl Aber experience. Unfortunately, we were disappointed to find that Harley's was closed. We later learned from the current students in Aber uni that the bar no longer opens during semester breaks or exam periods. The issue is that this information wasn’t communicated on Harley's Instagram or Facebook pages, leaving us unaware of the change. It felt like a wasted trip, as this was a key stop on our visit. It seems like every time that I'm in Harley's bar it has been disappointing experience. The last time I was in Harley's bar, I realize they only take card payments only, and are limited to alcopops or beer on the taps. No cocktails or special mixes. It’s clear that the new owners either lack the knowledge to run Harley's effectively or simply aren’t interested in keeping Harley’s bar going. Their focus seems to be entirely on promoting their less successful sister venue, The Hoptimist, as seen in their social media posts.

(photos blurry as from a video) Stayed in the hotel and had a pretty good experience, was clean and was absolutely massive for the price we got. we were given the flat 1 room and it was way too big for us but we cant complain it was nice. perfect location, only a few oddities such as windows being very thin so you could hear everything outside (we enjoyed being nosy though), then there was a random covered up window in the toilet but seemed there just used to be some room there maybe? then there was a fire exit door i think? confusing but we didnt question TOO much because everything was secured and locked and we enjoyed our stay.

I went last week and was having an argument with a friend that was getting a bit heated and so my friend went and spoke with a bouncer i think he was called Moe and he came and helped resolve the argument in the smoking area. After the issue was sorted I felt a lot more safer and actually enjoyed the night. The bar staff were also all lovely even though they were really busy. I highly recommend this place for a night out!

Absolutely useless, cashless venue, but the pool table doesn't take card payments. So I asked if they do cashback, no, that's reasonable, I walk to an atm. Come back and ask for change, and that's when she decided to say "sorry we don't have cash on premises." Miserable staff apart from the nice Irish guy. Uuuuseless

Last night i went out to this bar, i was there with a couple of my friends and all of a sudden my very sober friend fell to the floor due to his reduce mobility. The Worker who i was around 5’9, short red hair, and twice our age decided to declare my friend was too drunk. Then their authority to unlawfully throw him out. Will not be returning until the staff get a reality check and stop throwing mobility restricted paying customers.

Good music at Harley’s at night, but the drinks are expensive compared to nearby pubs and bars.

Stayed here over the weekend for 2 nights. Arrived Friday afternoon to find the room was not cleaned, towels used left on the floor, beds not changed, empty cans left in the room. Nobody to report this to. Certainly wouldn't recommend.

It was dead since it was the Saturday after mad Friday but still good vibes. They closed at a reasonable time, too. The song choices were good from the dj, but I felt there was no need for the song to change from one to another so quickly, mid song too or much earlier than that. The prices of the drinks were a bit expensive for what they were, downies across the road have better prices for drinks if you do want to pre there and then dance at Harleys.

Manger is a class act. Service slow when busy is what it is.

Harleys has gone downhill since being bought out by a different owner. It was perfect before as it was (especially for students) but the rebrand has caused regrettable changes such as the different more expensive drinks, different outdoors area and dance-floor. The place is crawling with so many power - tripping bouncers who are disrespectful to the clientele both inside and outside of the venue. A honest bad experience and I definitely do not recommend - I hope this can improve as it used to be my favourite venue and by this going downhill Aber’s nightlife loses a lot. Please listen to your customers and use their feedback as we want this to be a venue for all.

Went to Harley's for a freshers night excited to see it 'done up' following the temporary closure. Disappointing experience all round. The wait at the bar was incredibly long and service seemed totally random. There were more people queuing for the bar than there were dancing. Music was also disappointing with no transitions and a really weird selection. The new LED lights mean you can see EVERYTHING on the dancefloor - I don't want to see everything happening on a dancefloor... please. I also miss the old screens which told you the upcoming songs, but that could be personal preference. Also disappointed there was no upgrades to the women's toilets. I can't see myself rushing back as if you want to get a drink (and not be totally sober by the time you get to hit the dancefloor) there are better places in town.
