As a couple, we had been highly recommended to try this place. When we arrived, luckily there was no queue and we found a seat straight away. We had been warned that it gets very busy, so to expect to have to wait. The server was extremely friendly and very attentive. Considering she was the only one greeting, taking orders and serving, she did an amazing job. We could not fault the service at all. I can't say that there was an atmosphere as such, but an enjoyable visit. We ordered a pie each, one with mash and one without. One with mushy peas, one with garden peas. When they came, they both had mushy peas. It was no issue to have the plate taken away and changed, immediately being brought back to us. However, we can't say we were overly enamoured with the pies, or the mash. The mash was flavourless. Could have done with a little bit of seasoning, and being more creamy. It was bland and tasted quite starchy and watery. The steak & ale pie was also very bland. It consisted of only steak, gravy and pastry. We would have thought there would have been some mushroom or onion, or both in with it. The sausage and black pudding pie, also very bland. There was just a wedge of sausage meat, with 3 tiny specks of black pudding in it. Considering the pies are made with locally sourced products, we felt they were almost like frozen pies that had been heated up. Although the review probably feels like it's all negative, that is not the point I am trying to make. Just a few hints for the business to maybe improve on. We are pleased we have finally managed to visit. And would go again in the future.

Visited for girls lunch in late April. We were seated at a lovely table outside, lots of cushions and a very comfortable setting. We ordered 3 centre cut filet steaks and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD. Cooked to perfection. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough, i'm fortunate enough to live close by and have been many times. The chefs really know how to cook and how to flavour their dishes. The bone marrow sauce is just stunning. The menu changes often and they use local ingredients whenever possible. The ingredients used are always top quality, it's such a treat to eat here, the prices are very reasonable. A true gem.

We visited the hotel and restaurant for an evening dinner and overnight stay. The service was exceptional throughout. The food lived up to expectations and each course was a taste sensation. The hotel room was quaint and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! You need deep pockets and if you go with that in mind I’ll guarantee you’ll have a first class dining experience.

Went on recommendation. It was busy but we managed to get a table. Staff were friendly enough. Order was taken quickly. Prices were similar to those back home in Essex. Small Cod and chips were fine, equivalent to.a medium at my local. Some people were having ridiculous sized portions but I think that's why its so popular. Creme Brulee was nice and big but should have been slightly warm not cold.

Everything about The Saddle Room Restaurant was perfect. A Gluten free request for one guest was specified when we placed the booking. When we arrived the Gluten free menu was waiting for us on the table, the bread roll that arrived was gluten free for that guest, all the dishes for both gluten-free and standard menu were delicious. Can honestly say if we lived closer this would be our regular visit. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

We visited for a 2 night stay to visit Lincoln over a weekend and we're so pleased we chose The George in the market place of Kirton Lindsey. It's a pleasant journey from here into Lincoln itself but nice and quiet with lots of it's own history and character. We checked in at 2pm and found them all hands on deck in the courtyard re-potting the outdoor plants looking like they're having a great time and taking pride in their work! We were made most welcome. Our room and ensuite were modern, nicely decorated and very clean; super shower and heated towel rail. Another nice touch were the pictures of The George and people enjoying the market place over the years it's old! We dined both evening's and the food was absolutely superb, service excellent and the atmosphere friendly relaxed and just nice vibes all in all. Again there are pictures and memorabilia around that celebrate the area's history. We will be recommending The George and want to return. Thank You.

We had just finished a hike (Grassington and Conistone circular), so we were a bit under-dressed for this very nice restaurant. My fault - didn’t do the research! We’d booked in advance given it was Good Friday but it was not very busy. Service was really lovely. Menu was not extensive and surprisingly after our exertions, we were not ravenous - so we ordered some sandwiches. All the food was terrific.
