We had a really wonderful night at The Hare. The food was absolutely stunning and the rooms were cosy and comfortable, with an excellent rolltop bath. Liz and Paul were such good hosts: coming to The Hare didn't feel like coming to a restaurant, it felt like coming into someone's home for a perfectly curated and utterly wonderful evening. Reviews I've seen online don't mention the breakfast: this is an essential part of a good stay, and The Hare delivered the most wonderful tray of goodies to the table in the morning, as well as hot coffee and a good chat. Other restaurants with rooms in the area may be better known, but The Hare is an absolute treasure.

Have had Pignut on my radar for a while and we came in for a family lunch over Easter. It was a wonderful meal - very friendly and knowledgeable staff who are clearly passionate about their work. Especially interesting but tasty wine choices.

We visited this tearoom after while back after a hike and what we had to eat and drink was amazing. The coffee was perfect, which is rare. The food was lovely, I had a lavender scone. A true oasis.

If you want fast food don’t go here. If you want good food served by friendly staff this is the place for you. The food was excellent and the staff were courteous and very friendly and welcoming I can recommend this place.

We stumbled upon this place and couldn’t be more pleased! The food was excellent, and even the twins finished their meals—a rare win. The steak sandwich was the best we’ve had, and the cappuccino was an absolute delight. Our waiter was incredibly patient and polite, and the atmosphere, along with the music, made for a great experience. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you guys for a great experience!!

It was my first visit and I was not disappointed. I loved all the restaurants, cafes and shops. It was market day while we were there but as it had snowed, only a few stalls came. We certainly got friendly service from the stall holders though. I shall go back for another visit soon, but book everything in advance, especially the restaurants, which get very busy.

I have to be quite honest here because I hope things change because the food was lovely. We visited this pub due to recommendation, when we first arrived we weren’t spoken to or greeted. We sat down at a table and then went to the bar to get drinks, most of the tables hadn’t been cleared away and were dirty. When we went to the bar, we were told we would have to hurry up and order our food which is Faye enough as they were stopping at 2, the food took a while to come out, and all came out at different times. We still had other peoples glasses and coffee cup on our table when our food came and no knives or folks. The man who was serving behind the bar and seem very flustered was rude when we went to ask how long the others food maybe. We were then told that they were short staffed, there was glasses everywhere. I understand it’s Easter weekend but standards shouldn’t be dropping. Such a shame as the food was nice. Hopefully things improve

Whole place was freezing. Sat with our costs on. Service was very slow. Half the meal was missing. Then just to finish it off the dog which I assume belongs to the owners cocked it's leg and passed urine all over the children's play area. We told the staff who shrugged their shoulders. As we left we found glass also in the play area. Sadly won't return. It's a shame as this used to be a lovely place. Prices do not reflect the food or service

Beautiful area and a good menu but the sandwich and bread we had with the soup was stale. A shame as the soup was lovely. We stopped off here as we did a walk from Helmsley and the Abbey is half way (about 3 miles) so perfect for a rest and refuel before we set off again. It’s absolutely stunning around here and the Abbey for a backdrop is simply beautiful for a rest and a bite. Nothing is cheap nowadays and I really don’t mind paying for good stuff. It’s just annoying when produce is not fresh as the price is still the same!

Champagne afternoon tea- £39.50, very disappointing and was a treat for my mum on our arrival in Helmsley. Tea was served using teabags although strainers on the table for loose leaf-odd! No tea menu offered to look at. Bread did not appear to be very fresh, dry. Very poor presentation overall. We left most of it although had it boxed up as a bit embarrassing, . It is a real shame as nice venue and nice staff. As a critique I would suggest looking at the Assembly rooms Norwich, much the same price for afternoon tea but completely different class and a lovely afternoon experience. Missing a trick here Feversham, you could really make your mark and perhaps up your footfall with a bit of research and revamp. Sorry to leave negative review, but had to lie to my mum about the cost as no comparison to other afternoon teas we have had and being totally British did not have heart to complain as we were the only customers in the Weathervane room at the time and young waitress very polite.

Under new management but run by young lads who are confused. We arrived around 3:10pm on a Saturday. We went to order food and got told to sit down as it was table service. A lady wandered around tables chatting to friends. Gave up at 3:35. Went to front again. Told “sorry kitchen closes at 3:30”. Told them we had been waiting. Got a shoulder shrugged and smiled. Really disappointing.
