The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Ripped off with Spam and Mushroom sandwiches. For some reason Mushrooms with Bacon is 20p extra. Get Mushrooms with Spam and it's 90p extra. The Spam could not be thinner and far too small a portion for the T cake it comes in. I asked the staff if the price was right and they said yes. We were charged £9.20 for two Spam and Mushrooms. We could have got 3 Sausage 3 Bacon 2 Spam 2 Eggs Beans Tomatoes Mushrooms and 2 Toast for £8.90. Think they need to look again at their pricing format. It wasn't the money it was the principle.

Used this place quite a few times. Staff are lovely and so is the food. Plenty of choice on the menu and the prices are decent too

Stopped for a take away did nit wait ti long but ample timing, we built u[ an appetite the smell of the food drags you of the street,lovely variety of selections.

Amazing to find fully vegan food,and it was delicious! We can't wait to go back and sample some more of the menu. We will definitely return soon.

Have been several times for a takeaway roast dinner. Always tasty and good value with plenty to eat. I've always had the standard roast dinner and I have to wait till evening before I can manage pudding

Recommended by relations and on a day out, we ended up in the newly refurbed Wool Market.   Good to go just for the watch, as you pick your choice of ice cream from the extensive menu, then watch it being made.   Plenty of choice you might have to que for it but that’s were you can stand and watch the others before you.   Staff were good, helpful with their menu choices, I would recommend to any body in the area to give it a go.   A big hi 5

Lovely little bakery, some of the best custard slices I have had. Definitely worth a visit, but be careful as it can become addictive with all the lovely goodies to choose from

Don’t let the basic interior put you off. The food is excellent - beautifully cooked and great value for money.

Very nice haddock, chips and fish shop curry. The only negative (no fault of the shop) was the exorbitant price for the public car park. Just under £5 for up to 1 hour and I was there for less than 10 mins. This must affect local trade in the area.

This is the worst Yorkshire pudding I’ve ever had. I thought this city would show out. Clearly this isn’t the place. It was dry. And while allegedly “homemade”, it was cooked a different day at a minimum. Dry and bad dough. We haven’t even gotten to the meat yet. Got beef and turkey. Both dry and chewy. We’re talking school cafeteria food here…

Just had a fabulous meal at the fleece. Both the food and service was brilliant. Can highly recommend a meal here.

Nice old world pub well worth a visit

Great food & drink, well priced with good service. Great atmosphere. Stunning building.

Had a gorgeous Sunday dinner at The Ship, the staff were amazing and the whole atmosphere was really lovely. Highly recommend for a roast!
