We had a long wait for our table which was precooked for 1pm. ( party of 11 ). A long wait to take drinks order and for them to arrive. Food order was taken which took even longer to arrive. A second round of drinks were ordered only for the waitress to drop a glass ( accidentally) which smashed onto a family members meal, glass everywhere on the table, the meal was replaced eventually. When the bill arrived, no discount was offered to make up for the mishap and a service charge was automatically applied. I feel that if you want to pay a charge it’s a personal choice, I’m not in favour of it being added without asking first, so rude. Finally a word about the food, it was ok, portion sizes varied somewhat for what they charge. Overall it was my first visit here, cant say that I was impressed any. The garden centre itself was good, instore was very Christmassy, a nice atmosphere.

What an exceptional establishment. I ordered the club sandwich and a side of chips, my wife a bacon sandwich. All I can say is the food was beautiful, cooked and served very professionally. Excellent quality food, Excellent service, Very clean establishment, decorated delightfully. It's a hidden gem, if you want am amazing meal, served quickly and efficiently then eat your food in a very clean friendly business then the Deanery is the place is for you. I have eaten in many establishments around Tamworth but this one is head and shoulders above the competition. Well done guys, looking forward to my next visit and of course Christmas 👍👍🤓🤓🤓

Had a Bacon and Mushroom Sandwich,it was one of the best I have had in ages .You had loads of Bacon and mushrooms ,it was absolutely gorgeous . Wasn’t greasy either like some places can be . The coffee was also one of the best I have had in a long time . I written this review because I think it was best value for money and by far better than a lot of the expensive restaurants around. Thank you ladies

I've been here a few times, with my family. This time I dined alone. I had the buttermilk chicken burger, which was really nice. The service by the young ladies, Molly and Liv was super. They were very attentive and friendly, just what you want when you're out to eat. The lady who served the drinks, Amy was very friendly too, as I sat near the bar we were chatting as I was waiting for my food. Thanks for a great experience, I will certainly be back.

Well the people of Tamworth are lucky they can no longer dine here, but us hotel guests,in the middle of nowhere have little choice. A very limited menu has very poor choices.I had Haddock and chips. Here it is £13.99.,no peas.At the Premier inn in Stoke it was £12.99 with peas. You work that out. The battery was so hard at the end I couldn't eat it.I also had a vanilla ice cream. One of the poorest meals I can remember eating.See the photo.

Visited Tamworth Castle so nipped in for lunch. Ordered 2 Sunday roasts, kids burger and a kids Christmas tree pizza. Beef on the roast was awful. You’d expect a Beefeater to get that bit right! It was Almost raw and slimey. Tough as old boots too! Rest of the roast was very average and not very tasty. Youngest couldn’t understand why his Christmas tree pizza was just a normal pizza 😂 Wouldn’t return. Staff friendly though. Couldn’t fault them.

This place is disgusting, we arrived as a family when we sat down me and my son went to use the toilet which was closed so used the filthy staff toilet, when we arrived back at the table my wife pointed out how dirty the floo was and that bothered was a full set of false nails on the floor under the table, we left swiftly and told the staff it was unacceptable to be so dirty even though it had only been open a couple of hours , on my way out I was confronted by a angry delivery driver who threatened me infront of my 9 year old grabbing me

Been using planters for many years unfortunately the restaurant has declined was there for 3 separate activities booked for Halloween .. 6 adult 3 children so not a cheap day .. food took 1hour 15 mins and all arriving at separate times so had to leave it as had slot time for pumpkin picking . . I ordered a gluten free sandwich that was poor size and standard for the price .. Considering it was school holiday and was very busy lack of staff . ..

The title says it all really, not expensive, no gourmet food, just good old fashioned pub grub. You can order and pay on the app from your table or go to the bar and bring your drinks back. Service is pretty quick depending on how busy they are. Refills for tea and coffee are a bonus as need at least 2 coffees to get going in a morning. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here and they are all decent, no frills food at a decent price. Staff are pleasant and helpful and are fairly quick to clear your table when you have finished. Great place to go for a quick inexpensive breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Being going here for over 20 years and other than the fact they close too early and sometimes run out of potatoes this is simply the best spuds and food around! Staff are friendly and deliver great service, would recommend them any day especially for the spuds!

This pub is now known as the Coven. It’s a great little pub, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is good. They have a lot of live bands on there at weekends, and open mic nights on Tuesdays. Both of very popular. Me and the missus have eaten there a number of times and there’s a good choice on the menu. What we have eaten has been reasonably priced and tasty. Worth the drive up from Birmingham.

I had a glass of Pinot Grigio of which I took two sips. It was dreadful. I then ate fish, chips and mushy peas and sticky toffee sponge pudding. The fish was not pleasant, the chips soggy and tasteless and the peas had an un pleasant taste. On the basis of this meal I would not recommend the food but the pub itself is very welco.ing and comfortable. The group to which it belongs needs to review its food which, in this case, was not at all good value for money.
