Very disappointed, food wasn’t very warm, we ordered 4 meals and 3 came out all together and 1 came out after we had nearly finished eating… 1 meal was also missing an extra item which was paid for…. The only thing I can praise is there was A member of staff who was running around trying to help customers and apologising for the kitchens mistakes! There were 3 other members of staff in the kitchen and yet still couldn’t get orders correct!

Ordered full English breakfast and panckes with bacon and maple syrup, always lovely food every time we visit ! 160 miles for the best panckes I have ever eaten, lovely to sit outside when sunny.Service always top notch ! The " cafe " as we call it never disappoints.

Popped in for breakfast. So glad we did. Absolutely amazing. Really tasty, well presented, and great service. I think we’ve found a new regular spot!

This place is great. Good service, food and great coffee. I will definitely be visiting again when I’m back in Tamworth. The breakfast is fab.

Having a cheeky weekend away and wanted to find somewhere that did a full English. We found The Kitchen and it was so good we went back 2 days running! The food was excellent but it was the staff and the customer service that made it extra special. Obviously popular with locals too as it was packed within 10 minutes of opening. We’d highly recommend it

1st Time visit. Felt a bit more communication when we walked in as we sat down and didn't know how we order. After asking the process I went to the counter service and ordered. The breakfasts came out hot ,well presented and plentiful.A lot of regular customers come here as I could see the communications with the staff. Very enjoyable and would definitely be returning .Good value . Try it.

Service was initially a bit Fawlty Towers with the staff not knowing what I was ordering off their own menu I opted for a burger and feies but would have preferred the salad on the side not shoved in with the burger (I could have done that myself if I'd wanted to) I asked for vinegar twice without success and the ketchup was a teaspoonful...BUT taste wise I couldn't fault it and the sta were wonderfully friendly

The food was hot, nicely presented and flavoursome. Just what the doctor ordered. Washed down with a pot of tea. Set us up for the rest of the day. I had the liver, bacon, onions, chips and peas / whilst my brother went for the big all day breakfast which nearly defeated him...an unusual occurrence I must say. It was big !!! Great service, chatty friendly staff. Open every day of the week. This is a cafe not a restaurant and should be judge as such. Recommended to us by a fellow train enthusiast who visited here regularly. We can see why. A great find and made our trip to Tamworth all the memorable. Thoroughly worth a visit. Enjoy.

Its been a while since my last visit which to be honest was a disappointing experience but today wow what a difference a piping hot breakfast beautiful orange juice and a coffee that is amongst the best ive tasted in similar places. The Kitchen is spacious and spotless and the staff friendly and welcoming

My mother and I called into this cafe on Thursday 14th October, we had visited some time ago and thought we’d pay another visit, the menu choices were more than adequate and several people were in there having meals and all looked fine to us, we made our meal choices and ordered at counter, service was swift and as items are cooked to order they will not appear instantly, patience is required but the wait is far from excessive, it’s just reasonable to order something freshly cooked and incurr a short wait.staff were efficient and food arrived piping hot and was more than substantial, would we return again ? Yes most definitely!

Table was sticky and not cleared. Waited to be served for about 10 minutes so tried going to the counter. The staff were more interested in their conversation than taking our order. We left and thank God we did judging some of the reviews.

After stumbling on this cafe a few months ago this has become my go to place. The breakfast is fantastic so much to eat that I went from full English to Small and still have more then enough. Kate and the staff are super friendly and always feel welcome. I fully recommend the diamond of a cafe

As you walk from the car park opposite the law courts to the Kitchen, you come across a very sweet terrace of residential Old Victorian houses, with the dates they were built etched into the walls and the original villa signs, Tamworth is full of gems like this and it's a lovely quiet street - at the end, there's the Kitchen and it's perfectly located, no other shops or bustle, it's just a beautiful cosy, friendly place for a relaxing meal. The staff are really fun, down to earth and warm, if you were here alone you wouldn't feel lonely, there's a good vibe in here. We ordered the huge breakfast and a normal sized one, plus toast - it was all cooked lovely, the bacon really tasty and we had extra mushrooms too! There is a car park right next to the cafe too, it is owned by the shop and if you brought your bike, I am sure it would be safe there too, which is a good bonus. If I had just one tiny tiny suggestion, the table we were sat at needs re-sanding as they feel a bit sticky, it's not dirty, it's just how some pub tables go when the varnish needs stripping, it didn't detract from the overall ambiance, especially when you're ravenous! x

3 adults and 3 children for breakfast. Met with huffs and puffs from the staff, as if our custom was too much trouble. Then refused to cook poached eggs because “putting another ring on the oven would make it too hot in the kitchen” Food was ok, nothing spectacular but by the time we ate it the attitude of the staff members had put us off. Will not be going here again any time soon, very disappointing!

Lovely cafe, friendly staff. Yes at busy times you can have a wait for meals but for food that's freshly cooked I don't mind the wait, I have used this cafe many times and have never had a bad experience.

English breakfast is amazing. All fresh and well cooked. The dining area is very inviting, clean and nicely decorated. The staff and friendly and helpful with a good level of service. It's got it all....great food, great service....reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere

Visited for the first time. Lovely large breakfast (more than I could eat). Very clean cafe and a nice atmosphere.A good range of food options on the boards. First of all a tip for your first visit: you have to order your food from the counter - they don't make this clear. When we tried to ask about this, we got rudely brushed off. Once we'd ordered, the wait for the food wasn't too bad. We ordered the full English breakfast. The menu is good as you're able to add extras for a lot of things. Good quality was good and was also reasonably priced. Probably will not go back though, as do not like rude people/staff.

Visited of a morning to have a massively below average breakfast, food took nearly an hour to arrive to our sticky table. Wasn’t even worth the wait poor quality of meats which didn’t even taste cooked. This was after I’d already waited at the counter without being acknowledged for around 10 minutes, even when ordering I felt everything was too much hassle for them whilst even being told the chef was going to be angry for asking for a poached egg (at an extra 20p may I add). Customer service was woeful throughout paid nearly £10 for a very poor breakfast, would never return. Overheard numerous customers suggesting the same and a lot of food left on plates. 1/10.

A greasy spoon that has embraced modernity and blossomed into a culinary institution. Would you like Korn or Linda McCartney sausages with your vegetarian breakfast? Brown bread toast? The locals love it and you will too.

I had seen the rave reviews and thought I’d treat myself to a nice brekkie - what a shame!The place was busy, always a good sign and the staff were polite. The atmosphere/feel to the place was good too. I placed my order and sat patiently for about 20 minutes, unfortunately what came out wasn’t worth the wait. Although everything was hit, the sausage was the cheapest money could buy and it was deep fried where the ends had burst out of their skins. The mushrooms I assume were tinned and extremely tasteless. The bacon was ok and the eggs were extremely greasy.Such a shame, they’re riding on the great location and somehow great reviews yet they serve poor ingredients. Pay the extra, cook with love and keep your customers coming back, as until things change I will not return.

On my son's recommendation I decided to go the Kitchen Cafe for breakfast. On arrival the cafe was busy, which is always a good sign and there was a good atmosphere. I managed to find a free table and proceeded to the counter to order breakfast. The young waitress was extremely helpful and polite taking my order. When the breakfast arrived it was lovely and hot, perfectly cooked and tasted delicious. I will definitely be going back

Found this place a few weeks ago and have had a few good visits. Today however was very disappointing. Counter staff forgot drinks and waited 30 minutes for a bacon sarnie which came out as a sausage sarnied. By the time it got there we had to rush for car parking was running out, and there was a very skimpy portion of bacon on the butty. Shame

Called here today for breakfast. Cafe lovely and clean. Clear Menu and pricing. Staff friendly. Our ordered meals soon arrived and very nice too. Fairly priced.

Having driven past many times I always assumed this was an up market Bistro type place but on my first visit I discovered it was an ordinary Café. But a good Café so not let down. Big menu good quality and good service. Would recommend.

I called in yesterday for breakfast (20th Feb) & was very impressed with the food & the service. The tables was cleaned before we sat down & all condiments re-filled ready for us. The breakfast was served hot & tasty and I enjoyed every bit.

Had lunch here this week. It is 5 minutes walk from the railway station. Seats approximately 50 people. Very popular which is a good sign, The menu is varied and reasonably priced, Service good, all in all a very nice establishment.

Been here today for the first time. My wife had the small breakfast while I had the big breakfast. As per our request both came with scrambled egg. They were freshly cooked and tasted great. The sausage was excellent as occasionally they can be tasteless, but these were delicious. We each had a pot of tea. The service was efficient and friendly. We will definitely return again to sample other items from an extensive menu.

Still the best breakfast in Tamworth! Proper home cooked food just like yoyr mum would make. Always totally satisfied 😊

Place has good reviews for its food and looks spotless. However it's customer service is woeful. Left standing at the counter and not even acknowledged with a smile or "I will be with you in a minute' gave up and walked out.

Came here for lunch with a good friend who recommended the cafe to me. Drinks were served in a couple of minutes and food did take a little while, but it was delicious and well worth the wait... :)

When you walk into "the kitchen" you realise you have a smile on your face, and it stays there until you leave, you want a good meal and you know you are going to get one.

Had 50 minutes between trains on a Sunday morning and found this friendly, popular and unpretentious caff 5 minutes walk away (there’s very little at the station). Despite being busy they rushed my order through so I’d catch my train. I had the all-day veggie breakfast and was even asked if I wanted quorn or Linda McCartney sausages. All cooked well and not too greasy. Excellent value. Who needs smashed avocado and sourdough bread?

I had the lamb shank, the meat fell off the bone and was very tasty! A good range of vegetables and the staff were excellent. Will be returning to try the big breakfast!

Come here on a visit to the area for the “snow dome” which is a 5 minute drive away, free parking for customers (didn’t see this until we got there so ended up paying £2 odd for parking but this was our fault).

Have had a couple of breakfasts and lunches here since moving back to the area and on all occasions have been very impressed. Food is always freshly cooked, well presented and tasty. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, our Labrador even got his own bowl of water and a carrot.

Been visiting Tamworth for an annual Naval reunion for about 20 years with my wife and another couple and never before have we heard about the Kitchen Café. Surprising as it is situated about 200 yards from where we stay, but just off the beaten track and seats about 30+. We visited two other establishments for breakfast over the weekend and were very disappointed with both. Fortunately we were overheard discussing this and were recommended this eatery. What a gem it turned out to be. Early Sunday morning first in and found it clean and inviting. We each had a basic English breakfast which was freshly cooked, large and very tasty portions. Fried egg, bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, mushrooms, black pudding and toast. The service was fast and friendly. A couple of cups of Latte to finish off. Excellent fayre, just a pity it took us 20 years to find it. But we certainly intend to make up for it in the future, by making it our first choice.

Two full English breakfast one with scrambled egg on a busy Sunday morning ..clean tables friendly staff The food was hot ...unfortunately the scrambled eggs were far to cooked dense texture chewy ..the sausage could do with a upgrade as they tasted cheap ...but overall a good place to eat

Went here for a lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It's very popular with locals which is not surprising as they serve, well cooked, reasonably priced food. Would definitely recommend and will be going again, probably to try the all day breakfast on a Sunday.

Stumbled on this by chance but was delighted with the find. Reasonably priced and tasty food, friendly atmosphere and great service. Very convenient location for town centre and parking. Unpretentious but tidy and commendably clean interior (including the loo). Enjoyed home made chilli today and will be back again.

Visited during the summer, took ages to get served as it seemed short staffed and even longer to get the food, approx an hour for a cooked breakfast, it was also expensive for what it was, will not be returning or recommending. Used to be a good cafe a few years ago but apparently the man who used to run it has now gone.

Went to visit my cousin in Tamworth and after a night out, we were in need of refuelling, the cafe was very clean and quite busy when I visited, both food and service was brilliant, defiantly would use again if in the area.

The full English was just the right amount, perfectly cooked with quality ingredients. We had both forgotten what outstanding value you get here.

A group of 6 of us went for breakfast on a Sunday. We managed to get a large table, and ordered our food and drinks. The drinks came quickly, followed by the food. The service was really friendly and the food was good.

Ive visited a quite a few places for breakfast in Tamworth, Christophers, The Deanery, The Riftswood, Poachers Cafe, Katies, Bitter & Sweet to name a few. But The Kitchen tops them all for its Full English Breakfast. Each element on the plate is cooked extremely well, no floppy bacon fat, no crispy bits or snotty bits on the egg, no charcoal sausages, proper butter for the toast, each individual ingredient cooked well, that's all you can ask for with a Full English!

Love this place for a nice breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble for them and it's always clean and tidy. I haven't eaten anything other than the superb breakfast there but if it's the same standard then I am sure it will all be excellent.

Me and my husband were looking for somewhere to have breakfast before going to Drayton manor for the day and I stumbled across this cafe on trip advisor so we decided to give it ago with all the good reviews it had. The cafe did not disappoint! The staff were friendly, the cafe was clean and well kept inside.We had a big breakfast and a vegetarian one, they were both delicious, good quality ingredients and a very fair, reasonable price. My husband was really impressed which must mean it's amazing! You do have to wait a little bit for your food but that's because it's fresh and cooked to order, making it worth the wait. There is a good variety of lunch options on the menu which all sound lovely, I wanted to go back for lunch! If we are ever in Tamworth again we will definitely be heading here to eat. What a little gem of a find!

We have been here many times and are always well satisfied with quality, quantity and value whether it's for breakfast or lunch. Today we had a very long day and enjoyed a Braised Steak meal and Chile Con Carne (being greedy, with delicious chips). Made my day.

Hi , took my mostly vegetarian family here and they were impressed by the wide choice. On other visits with friends have had brill liver and bacon! Very generous portions and friendly staff who were very tolerant of slightly grotty kids . Full marks .

Popped in on a cold, wet and windy day to find a warming drink and a rest before heading off to the next appointment. No disappointment here, excellent cup of tea at a good price and served quickly and with a smile. Next time I'll ensure I sample one of those delicious-looking cakes.

Always get a very warm welcome. They serve beer and also coffee made with Soya milk alongside the usual hot drink options and soft drinks.My daughter always favours the cheesy chip bagette while we have breakfast. Well cooked, prompt service.My only little criticism would be cheap frozen sausages, but that is what most places serve.They also have fabulous home made Maltesers Cheesecake. Recommend you try it. They serve Sunday lunch and things like Lasagne and Liver & onions but haven't tried them.

Have been here a few times now and cannot fault the food. Always fresh and quick. Cashier can seem a bit moody sometimes but would not put us off visiting here as food is so good.

Most Sunday's we go here for breakfast. It's a very small cafe but the staff are very hardworking, they serve good food at a good price.

Visited the kitchen after a weekend of Being on the drink and needed a good breakfast I picked my own items as some of the items on there set breakfasts I don't like Plus a nice pot of tea Was cooked just how I like it 2 things could of made it a excellent visit1) Could of been hotter which I can understand can be hard2) Better Stronger tea bags Otherwise a really nice place to go for your breakfast

I went here with my brother for lunch on a Monday. I had a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and he had the all day breakfast. It came to £12 with 2 coffees.My jacket potato was huge and delicious. My brother said the breakfast was good too, it certainly looked good.Nice setting, a traditional town cafe. Pleasant staff too.

The Kitchen big breakfast is just as described. A bit of a challenge, really well cooked and meant no need for further meals all day. Breakfasts don't get much better than this.

Heard a lot of people say this place does great food and we decided to try it out the one day and so glad we did! The staff were polite and helpful and the food was really nice! Will definitely be returning in the future for another meal

Being a firm advocate of using Trip Advisor to gather opinions of eateries, we had found relatively positive reviews of this cafe. Sadly we encountered average service upon our visit here. I do wholly believe in leaving constructive criticism, I dont rate or consider the oft seen "this was terrible blah blah" user comments, as this does little to feedback to the business under scrutiny. The cafe looks really great from the outside, very welcoming and bags of character. A pleasant and functional interior with lots of light from windows. Of the two advertised specials we were informed one was unavailable, and the other only came to light also being unavailable after we'd paid for it it and we'd started our drinks, which in turn we felt compelled to stay, otherwise we'd have graciously asked for a refund. The lady serving seemed a little annoyed with us and we were offered tinned soup as an alternative, even though website prides itself on being mainly homecooked ingredients. The food we received was perfectly fine, but we were already dissapointed by the service we recieved, plus both members of staff standing outside the front smoking is never a great advertisement of any business. Please may i clarify, both specials that we fancied, had sold out by 11:00am. Happily the sign advertising was then removed.

Have been here loads of times. Breakfasts are great. They make a lovely homemade cheesecake and serve coffees made with Soya which is great for me. Service always prompt although not always as friendly as it should be. Food quality consistent and good. Support the individual venue not the national chains.

I found it on the saturday of our weekend away. OH was on a course, I was mooching around town. I was made welcome immediately I stepped through the door. I ordered coffee - large; It was - and tomatoes and mushroom on toast. It was delivered promptly. The tomatoes were juicy, the mushrooms moist, not wet or oily; the toast - well buttered but not dripping. All in all a very enjoyable breakfast.I took OH there the following morning.We both had full breakfast. Substantial - without being too big. Nicely presented; well cooked.Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Highly recommended (ooh and it had its own car park)

Called Into my regular café today för a warming lunch on this freezing Cold day.After pondering för a while thought go on treat yourself(brasing steak, onions,chips and peas).When it came I could not believe thé portion size, I don't need tea tonight.Although thé café was busy I still recieved a thank you on getting up to leave. BE BACK. AGAIN.

We were passing on a Sunday and decided to stop by it looks ok from outside. Paid £7 for Sunday Lunch. It was terrible. Took a while to come and she forgot our drinks. I have never seen such a horrible looking meal. Everything was so bland and tasteless. The potatoes were rock hard the mash had lumps in it. I could not taste a difference from the cabbage to the carrots and the gravy was very week and thin will not be returning

Walked past this cafe many times and today went in, fantastic cafe, great selection of food from cakes to meals, staff were so friendly. Service was quick and the main dining area was nice and light and spacious inside and plenty of space to sit outside. Open 7 days a week and even offers Sunday lunch and is licensed will definitely visit again on my next trip into Tamworth

I have visited The Kitchen Cafe on several occasions and have never been disappointed on any of them. The food is always of top quality and very nicely priced. The staff can never do enough for you and offers a lovely atmosphere for a conversation with a friend or two. I very much recommend the breakfasts or the homemade Chilli Con Carne with chips!
