First time visit and must say absolutely fantastic family place to eat, the food was absolutely amazing and tasty was served promptly and well presented (I had seasoned salmon) really really good food. The staff we're wonderful and very hard working, you can see they work very hard but still have a lovely attitude towards customers really appreciated thankyou. The only thing I would say is maybe another member of staff is needed as it looked like all the staff and managers work very hard to keep the place running great and it is great you really should all be very proud of the way you all work, Amazing. Super busy but great service and pleasant food

We went there tonight to celebrate my 40th (19th July) service was quick and the food was well presented, a couple of flies landed on my daughters meal so she refused to eat it, spoke to a lovely man and told him what had happened and he swapped the meal for a fresh one. Couldn’t have asked for a better service. Everyone enjoyed there meals and the children enjoyed the secure space outside to play. Will definitely go back again

Came for breakfast on the 7th of July, friendly quick service, chilled atmosphere, good value. Had a small breakfast and orange juice, tidy clean place but could do with an upgrade/refurb.

I came in for breakfast this morning and it was lovely, there was unlimited coffee, tea and toast, the classic breakfast is a decent sized portion for the price as well, and the staff are really welcoming. I would definitely recommend this as a spot for breakfast in Tamworth if you need somewhere to go in the morning.

My local pub for some 22 years - the place has changed rapidly over the years, but the staff are very friendly and accommodating, especially to regular customers. Helen is a godsend, and nothing is too much trouble

Food was good at my last visit on 13th May, however I was disappointed when it came to order when allot of menu items were not available. There was no sign displayed at the front and we were not advised of these item shortages until it was time to order, leading to me having to return to the table to see what alternatives my party wanted.

Great selection of beer! The team are always wonderful and polite especially Helen and Ellie both girls are great members of the team! Bring back the breakfasts!

Made welcome, took my disabled brother for lunch, very accommodating and the food was hot, good portion sizes and tasty, Good value for money. We asked to moved to another table as my brother was getting a bit warm in the conservatory and we were told absolutely no problem to move.

Went for a family meal for granddaughters birthday. Well looked after quick efficient service. My granddaughter enjoyed her meal as did we all .

Still not a place I'd like to keep revisiting.

It's good value food. Certainly not going to win any awards but it's ok for the money. Car park gets super busy so go early or park on road near by.

Good food,with one exception, my husbands steak was inedible but it was quickly rectified by offering a new steak.

We came because we saw that kids eat for £1 we saw this advertised on the kids menu but when we got the receipt we paid full price for the kids, it was then explained that because we chose a drink and desert we don't get the kids eat for £1 this was not in plain sight in the menu, the lady taking our money did not explain this, we only found out because we questioned it. My meal came out and it was burnt, I was really disappointed as normally perfect. They didn't have cool original for doritos. My little girl went to the toilet and come back with tears because the toilet roll had fallen on her, it was resting ontop of the toilet roll holder and fell off, I suffer with mental health and I didn't feel strong enough to question or report any of this but I'm disgusted with paying a £50 bill to get treated like this. I will not be recommending this place to anyone any more and I really don't think we will go back

Big shout to the little blond behind the bar. Don't worry people it was said nicely. Actually one of the best pints of guiness I'd had in a long time. Staff really friendly and nothing to much for them. Will 100% be popping back in very soon!

Haven’t been in here for a while but can honestly say I probs wouldn’t go back.. the food was okay chips were over cooked on almost all the meals.. most of us didn’t eat them.. also one of my mates had a dirty glass given to them it had lipstick 💄 on it.. not good enough really for us as we are paying the money.. atmosphere was okay and the staff were friendly but all in all rather disappointed.. 😞

Really good, a bit pokey and cramped and it was too warm inside but the food was great and super value for money. The vegan burger was an absolutely amazing but there is only really one “grown up” vegetarian menu choice.

I had such a lovely evening at the Riftswood with my family. The food was lovely and the staff were warm & welcoming. We were seated by a lovely woman named Laura she was really helpful and ensured I had everything I needed for my children to be seated comfortably which really took some pressure off and made arriving at a venue much more relaxed and enabled us to settle for our meal easy. I give the service 5 stars because I can honestly say they were very helpful. It was a lovely night out.

We did a groupon deal for £20. Food was cold and bland, service was fine and it’s a nice pub…..would likely go for a drink there but from a food perspective I’d rather eat mud in all truth….this based on our own experience so obviously be your own judge but there are much much better local places to eat. I honestly figured at £20 we couldn’t really go wrong….sadly it was me that was wrong! £25 when you take into consideration drinks!! 2 pot noodles woulda cost me around £3 and would’ve tasted better!!

We really enjoyed the festive menu, food was delicious. Needed more staff on the bar and its a shame they are no longer taking part of Meerkcat meals as we regularly eat there. All in all its a good pub/restaurant at a reasonable price.

Just had my sons 21st birthday meal here, 12 guests attended I asked for the conservatory, we got it and the food came out and it was hot and just amazing staff were brilliant friendly and I would like to say a big thankyou to all the staff and the manager kerien, and the staff who brought the cake out to us. . So to end this . A good chef great food good family pub. X will be back.

We had a lovely time. There was 16 of us. We was greeted with lovely smile and showed to the table, the service at the bar when we ordered drinks and food my daughter has a food issue so the chef took time to come out and speak to us even though he was busy and said he would sort it. The food came quickly and was hot and was lovely. The waiting staff was very good and helpful. When ever we went to the bar for more drinks the lady serving us was very nice even though she had a queue and tickets to do. And when we left we had a nice goodbye. Will definitely be back again.

Found us a table as we hadn’t booked but would recommend booking if future,food was so nice my wife sirloin was cooked to perfection and no complaints there, I had a chicken burger lovely too The staff their know how to look after their customers and you get a seance of team work going on

3 of us ate and the food was great, surf & turf, classic mixed grill and original burger. Sweets excellent also. Been here quite a few times and enjoyed each time.

Everything was brilliant we had a party of 12 so was brilliant they could accommodate us the inly issue we had was there was no desserts, we even asked if we could just have ice cream but was told no, the meal and drinks was lovely

After ordering we were told there was no wait on food, we then proceeded to wait over an hour for the food which when it came out was dry and clearly left on the side as it had cooled down. When mentioning there was a nut allergy on the table, they refused point blank to serve a sauce that may contain nuts, the same brand that we actually had at home so we knew it was fine. This resulted in the food being rather bland with no spice as the sauce was sweet chilli. We had dined here three days before and had the exact same food and were served the sauce however this time it was not allowed.

I visited today and ordered a steak which was good but I didn't like that they brought it in the frying pan, which caused the oil to splash on my skin and it was hot and all the smoke was in my face. If I had known, I wouldn't have ordered that meal.

After a particularly poor experience and disappointment in June 2023, I was contacted by the Manager of this establishment and kindly offered a complimentary visit, which we undertook on Saturday 9th September 2023. It was a particularly warm day , upon arrival, we were greeted by Kieran himself, who took us to our table of choice. It was creditworthy that, given the high temperatures, diners were being suitably distanced between tables and, that use of the conservatory seating area had been prevented: Notices had been strategically placed to advise would-be diners that Kitchen staff were being a given a break between 15:00-16:00 in the interests of Health & Safety – laudable sentiments and actions representing admirable due diligence and duty of care. Meeting our host in person gave me the opportunity to have a more informal chat: I was shocked to learn that, despite the venue's popularity, Corporate Chiefs deemed that the premises did not warrant investment in refreshing its now worn and appearance, and that this issue was not due for review for a further two years. I could empathize with his frustration of, having worked to so hard, post-COVID to rebuild a business effectively smashed to pieces by the pandemic – only to have received several past snipes over the same issues from people quick to judge, but too apathetic to commit in putting ‘pen to paper’ in demanding its owners inject sufficient reinvestment into a local Hostelry to achieve recovery and growth It seems remarkable that against a clear lack of investment or apparent interest by their Master, Team Riftswood remain very pleasant, professional, and strive to deliver a high standard of service and customer care: equally remarkable is the comparatively low staff turnover given their current working environment. We had a very enjoyable and tasty meal: the menu is varied, very reasonably priced and need no 'updating’ – in other words, ‘if it’s not broken, don't try and fix it!’ Of the building itself: it simply needs freshening up with a new coat of paint and basic maintenance inside and out: it certainly doesn’t warrant a complete reworking into another overpriced folly of misguided 2020s marketing and decor design, devoid of atmosphere, and that alienates its core customer base – with a correspondingly short business shelf life. The same venue could, with a minor cosmetic changes,and given its current varied menu, cheery atmosphere, customer demographic mix, friendly staff, provide an ideal ‘Informal Business lunch’ location on weekdays for my own Company Clients and no doubt those of many other small/medium-sized local businesses whom, post-Covid, run on thinner Expense Accounts and, given an increasing move towards working from home since the pandemic, now conduct business meetings in much less formal attire and environments than was previously the case. However, and as much as I would like to (with best will, intention, and imagination), bring strangers in for first visits and to sample good food, service and value, the current state of worn décor and general appearance effectively kills any prospects of my being taken credibly. To this end I am going to award a 4/5 Star Rating: Top Marks for a Host Team of individuals that go the extra mile daily and deserve every success, credit and reward for their endeavors– a One Star deduction for lack of investment in rejuvenating a popular going concern, attributable to inertia by a Management Team clearly of ‘Bean Counter’ mentality in failing to recognize and realize the true potential such a valuable intrinsic business asset; people and premises combined. A clear message to the same group who appear to thrive off Fiscal Analysis alone: 'There is more to life than cutting corners in focusing solely upon profits: your panacea will not appear within the Tables and Graph lines of a Quarterly PLA Report.' Food for thought (excuse the pun!), but I hope that this feedback helps the cause – and we’ll be back soon, albeit with a paintbrush as and if necessary!

The Riftswood is my go to place. If you want good price decent food this is the place to go, I have been coming here for many years now, you get great value for your money, always lovely staff, can say I have never had a bad experience here. If family visit and we are going to go for food this is where we book. Great choose of menu. The app is good to down load or sign up to the email as always send good deals. I always come here with my children so definitely kid friendly.

We've been regulars for the last 5 yrs. and have never had a bad meal. The fish & chips are always our favourite. The staff are first class. Especially Helen, Adam,Elly and Kieren

A bit hit and miss we booked a table on arrival all good shown to our seats then ordered drinks at the bar then the negatives went to order the food at the bar there was no one there! We waited and waited there was absolutely no staff anywhere after 10 mins someone showed up we looked around and the place was quite empty so I don't know where the staff were hiding anyway the food... My father in law ordered chilli and we were told that it's off the menu as its unavailable so OK the lasagne was ordered as a substitute along with the other food.. Then it came to our table out of the 4 meals 2 were great the others not so the lasagne was visably microwaved and the steak which we ordered was limp and the sides that came with it were limp.. Would we return.. no I don't think so as the bar service was slow and average food

I have been coming to the riftswood for years now. I also worked here when my daughter was very young.I have seen managers come and go and I have always been made to feel welcome. Helen the shift supervisor is always friendly and chatty, the meals have always been enjoyable and filled me up I would recommend this place as a family friendly pub.

Great drinks selection! The staff here are very helpful and friendly! One of my friends had an allergy and the person behind the bar made sure that the cocktail my friend had was suitable for her to have as she really wanted to try it!

Great little community pub! Always come here with my friends and family, food is always quick and hot, We did come a few times for their quiz night which is packed out! Yes, it can do with a lick of paint but after speaking with some of the team that is something that is in the books for the future! We will always keep coming back as the team are so lovely and kind!

Stone cold chips, cold peas not fresh and the fish wasnt much better. Terrible customer service. No apologies. Offered a dish of hot chips. Maybe try serving the food hot?

Visited here a couple of nights ago with the family, probably the best experience I've had in a sizzling pub for a long time, couldn't fault the staff at all. Very friendly, asked about any allergies and/or dietary requirements before putting the food order through, read the order back to us to make sure the order was correct, everything that we asked for we got so there were no meals missing and it was all fresh and hot, they checked on us a couple of times to make sure the food was ok which was better than ok and to check if we needed anymore condiments, definitely recommend for a family meal or a quick bite for lunch or even to have a wind down with a few drinks after a long day. Will definitely be returning.

Ordered on the QR code and the food arrived before the drinks, had to go up to the bar and show them what i had ordered for me to finally get the drinks, my food was horrible the chips were hot held or re fried I couldn’t eat it at all. Do not recommend here at all absolutely disgusting.

This place is going downhill fast, they've rarely got what you want so as an alternative we ordered Hunters chicken, surely they can't get that wrong, they only need to put it in the microwave, how wrong was I, the chicken was dry and burnt around the edges. My wife and I have been regulars at this place, but I think we need to find another pub/restaurant fast.

We went for a family birthday meal, table for 6 booked online, on arrival didnt have any record of the booking? When daughter arived showed confirmation of the booking! One person on the bar taking drinks orders & food orders! Only on person on the bar. Very pushed, needed more bar staff.! Slow service for food , when it finally arrived the Lasanne was all dried up on top.the gammon dry & tough, steak tough & dry. Didnt complain but wouldnt recommend,! Very dissapointed all round. Wont be using again.spent £60.00. Plus.

Been visiting this pub for years and always been impressed. But today I’m utterly disappointed. Our drinks were served in dirty glasses. 1 meal came out with a hair visibly on the steak, the child’s meal was disgusting and inedible (chips overcooked and crispy ends which he couldn’t eat) the nuggets were dry and visibly left on a hot plate. they offered a free drink and dessert which was okay. But it took 25 minutes to replace a steak which by the time it came out all others had finished eating. Obviously will visit again but I’m left wondering if it will be worth the trip.

I have taken my family for a birthday treat and gave not been for a while, the food was the best we have had for some time. The staff were very helpful with my gluten free requirements. Best gammon steak I have ever had, not a thing to fault at all including price and value for money. Thanks for a great night xx

Food was really nice considering the cheap prices in here. The place itself though seemed a bit tired and in need of some decorating, in the area we sat it smelled of damp quite strongly. Overall though, decent enough.

I'm in a wheelchair so need extra space at the table. Staff very helpful, moving a cgair fir me. Husband had trouble ordering on the app so went to the bar. They had run out of the salmon I would have liked so had chicken instead.

Steaks were awful, totally inedible! When you can't even cut it you really shouldn't try and eat it With better customer care the review could have been very different. Overall spend £72, £10 voucher offered due to inedible food.... Bit of an insult! Don't usually complain but this one needs it! Even the German Shepherd struggled 😂

Steak uneatable not recommended

Absolutely awful. We pre booked. We were advised when we arrived that the wait for food was 45 mins. 1hr and 10 mins later our order arrived. Cremated steak instead of well done on a bed of the most soggy onion you could imagine. The...

Firstly if we hadn’t of asked for a receipt we would never of known one of the 3 adult meals was missing, we asked for dirty fries and just got normal which then had to be sent back and done, which resulted with the other food on the plate not being very warm. The chicken dippers on the 2 of the 3 kids meals was over cooked, when plates was removed from table we asked for the deserts (3 x kids 1 adult) about 15 minutes later the adult dessert was brought out, we then had to wait nearly a hour & half for the kids desserts which was just the ice cream. Even though we had been to bar numerous times to ask for them to be brought out. We booked our table for 5:15 to allow time to eat and the little ones to have dessert and get home before they got tired. We was celebrating a birthday so it was meant to be a nice treat for the family but instead it’s put us off returning or recommending especially if you have young kids
