Extremely rude and full of ego owner (Rob), very dismissive and defensive chef, he wouldn't take any criticism, very unprofessional! My girlfriend and I had an awful experience, ordered drinks and then food took ages apparently to blame his staff being more worried about checking their mobile phones than looking after the customers, food arrived late and after complaining to the staff then Rob himself came over to our table with the most appalling of confidence to tell us that his restaurant was a fine dining michelin starred chef place looking at us with anger. Do yourself a favour and get counselling on ego behaviour. Will definitely not return and will not recommend to anyone. Appalling.

Went for a celebratory birthday lunch but also the start of a 50% off food offer and we stepped up to have steaks which unfortunately weren’t very good quality. Lovely atmosphere as usual following a recently refreshed paintwork and new furniture refurbishment but slow service together with poor steaks makes me hope that it was a one off rather than the norm now. I truly hope so.

Part of the Premier Inn and breakfast was good. Service was a little slow due to the number of customers. Unfortunately didn’t open for evening meals although the bar was open

Saturday 11 January 20, My friend and I came here for a late lunch after a shop till you drop shopping spree in Solihull. We arrived and found a nice table in a corner which could accommodation us and all our bags of shopping. We looked at the menu which was on the table and made our selection. I went to the bar to order our drinks and food. My friend and I ordered egg mayonnaise sandwiches on brown bread We also ordered a pot of tea and a latte coffee for myself. The drinks arrived very quickly and the food when it arrived was nicely presented and accompanied with rocket salad, coleslaw and lovely piping hot chips, which were delicious. This was a nice place to come and have a late lunch in a nice relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend coming here after a day of shopping.

Been going to the Manor House cafe for a long time but was very disappointed with today’s visit (06/11/2024). Whilst the food is still good they have brought in a new policy with the tea they serve. Instead of getting a pot of tea you now get a tea bag and a pot of hot water. Fair enough you might think. However when I asked why they were doing this, the answer was ‘people ask for more hot water and are therefore getting an extra cup of tea for free’. How petty and how bad for business. £1.95 is not cheap for one tea bag and a little milk. The staff should not refuse extra hot water (after all, they can’t refuse a glass of tap water) or begrudge an extra ‘free’ cup of tea to customers who are also spending a decent amount on food. I was not alone in my thoughts, several other people were making the same comments. Also, new cafes and coffee shops are opening all the time in Solihull so there is a lot more choice. The Manor House should not be alienating customers like this or they might find they will go elsewhere.

Appalling bacon breakfast bap !! They had run out of bacon ,which I know can happen occasionally. It appears very confused behind the counter.Given table marker and bacon sandwich did arrive, but nowhere near as appealing as picture depicts !!The bread was not fresh and quite cold and most definitely dreadfully stale.Bread was dry and cloying and completely tasteless with no butter or spread .Bacon didn't seem to have any taste. If you went over the road to Wetherspoons and tried their bacon on soft bloomer bread you would know how to present a quality product at a very reasonable price.Very disappointed and will not go again.I will stick to Wetherspoons over the road .

I came yesterday with my friends for afternoon tea, it was by far the worst afternoon tea experience we’ve ever had!! I was so shocked that this awful experience came from such reputable hotel! Very unexpected! I was so looking forward for a traditional afternoon tea and I choose the hotel based on reputation and location and invited my friends to come along, I’ve initially booked for 7 and two cancelled on the day for emergency reasons, the afternoon tea was then served, it didn’t look appetising or inviting, tea cups arrived with no saucers underneath, no cups for water for water bottles!! The food was served on one of these wooden blocks which was unexpected and unappealing for the traditional afternoon tea style we were expecting, those blocks were ugly and made it hard to access the items desolated inside and made it hard to communicate with ont another as there in ur face kind of thing!! The whole desolate looked like anything but a traditional afternoon tea style! Coming to the food itself We had soggy couple of sandwiche sliced each, unappealing purple dyed salmon setting on densed pastry (why would u dye the beautiful salmon colour in that unappealing appetising way, it was awfull, we also had arancini balls with meat in the middle despite me telling them we dont want anything containing meat or pork or alcohol when I booked, they apologised and replaced it later with vege version, Scones where ice cold, not fresh and it looked and tasted like what you get in these prepackaged scones from supermarkets,, we also had runny icecrem with few diced pieces of strawberries swimming in the middle, At this point we were off and didn’t want to complete the couple of items left in the sweet section because they also looked like something u just opened from packaging and placed on a plate in a rush!! When we’re ready to pay I was told I need to pay for seven although five came and I asked for afternoon for five on arrival as two cancelled due to emergency happened at the time, no one mentioned this when I booked and it didnt sound right that I have to pay for two extra when they didn’t turn up, The restaurant manager came and told me that he had to prepare for seven and I have to pay for seven because of this, at this point I flipped and wasn’t sure what exactly was pre prepared as everything there looked like ready made supermarket quality food not a top hotel restaurant quality food, and he can see they that there was food left over which shows that wr didn’t enjoy what wr had!! He the. Said I don’t know what’s ur explanation from an afternoon trea, I then Stopped him and said I’ve been to so many in my life most in hotels and I never received this below average experince, food in other place looked artisan, made for you, prepared, inviting, appetising, opposite to what we had! He then apologised and ask me to pay for the five wr had! I’ll never come back again nor my friends will, worst food and very unprofessional restaurant manager, he’s got zero customer service and satisfaction experince!! What a shame…
