The Fieldhouse in Solihull

Went for a celebratory birthday lunch but also the start of a 50% off food offer and we stepped up to have steaks which unfortunately weren’t very good quality. Lovely atmosphere as usual following a recently refreshed paintwork and new furniture refurbishment but slow service together with poor steaks makes me hope that it was a one off rather than the norm now. I truly hope so.

Fabulous Santa breakfast , all the staff did a great job but special mention to Loretta John & Glyn . Well organised. My granddaughter always loves going the Fieldhouse. Always a fab atmosphere well done to you all xx

Today we had our lucas Christmas 🤶 lunch 24 of us You were extremely busy but the food was fantastic the atmosphere was so lovely And the staff all worked very hard to deliver our food the turkey lunches were tasty hot and great quality First class thanks to all those who prepared cooked served and delivered such great food for so many Well done to you John you have a great team xx My next visit is the 17th looking forward to it already liz and Steve xx Cheers 🍻 to you all merry Christmas 🎄 So fab that this venue is so near me our very happy place THANK YOU all xxx see you soon xx

Went for brunch. Disappointed that there is no gluten free option. We placed our order but then had to chase up our hot drinks order as the staff member had forgotten. Then when the breakfast arrived we we shocked at the portion size. Tiniest pot of beans we have ever seen. Two overcooked eggs, one tiny dried up mushroom. Which looked like the smallest mushroom in the world! And a cold tomato. On the plus side the two slices of bacon and two sausages were nice. We do not like hash browns so asked for them to be left off the plate when placing our order. No extra bacon etc offered as a substitute. The decor was lovely with open fires, however really cold in there. We moved from our table by the window after eating, to a table by the fire. But even then we felt no warmth from the fire. Won't be returning as we found it was not value for money or tasty enough to entice us to go back. We also found the customer interaction and service lacking. I have since had a reply from this establishment blaming me for not checking that there wasn't a gluten free menu. Saying they were confused that I hadn't checked beforehand. Only one person in our group requires a gluten free option. Not all of us. And she managed just fine with her choices. The main issues for us were the tiny portions, the cold temperature, the lack of customer service and the time we waited for our hot drinks. So basically all of the other issues I have mentioned. Not the gluten free options. Just to avoid any confusion.

Incredibly disappointed with what used to be a firm favourite. The renovation seems to consist of a lick of paint and cramming as many tables into a small space as possible leading to very uncomfortable seating. Food quality has slipped. The beef and red wine lasagne used to be full of flavour. It’s now watered down and bland. Chips were undercooked and the children’s burger was cremated (my child spat it out and said it tasted ‘yacky’) Empty bottle of mayo as part of set up on most tables from trying to find one I could use from neighbouring seats. The cutlery smelt of wet dog. I’d have brought all of this to a staff members attention had anyone bothered to come over and check during my visit. Used to be my go to place. Will think twice before visiting again unfortunately.

Excellent service, We had the festive set menu on first day of its service. Lovely food, high standard of presentation and plenty of it. Courses served promptly. Christmas crackers on table as we arrived. Friendly waiting and bar staff. They work so hard to ensure you have a great time. Faultless!

Food was excellent and staff very friendly, we did have a little wait due to how busy it was but on the whole I will certainly dine at the Fieldhouse again especially mon - fri when I’m able to make use of my discount with my blue light card.

Refurbishment looks great. It was busy but staff were working hard and atmosphere was good. The Sunday lunch we had was absolutely delicious and puddings for £2.50 as part of set menu was great value.

Had a lovely Sunday roast and even though it was really busy we had excellent service. Staff are all really helpful and go above and beyond to give you a great experience. First time visit and will definitely return it was so good!

Staff particularly Kerry were very helpful and did their best to accommodate our needs (disabled) Had a lovely meal which didn’t take as long as had been expected. Enjoyed very much. Not so enjoyable was the radiator next to me belting out heat when not needed. The music blaring out right above us. We did ask if it old be turned down a bit so we could hear each other which it was for a while but then it was turned up again. We were enjoying our meal and chatting and on the next table 2 men came to join two other people at their table and were so rowdy and noisy we could not hear each other. I almost got up to say something too them but didn’t want to be abused. The noise of bar staff throwing empty bottles into container made us cringe e every time.

I love the Fieldhouse! Went to meet the parents for lunch and it’s just a great meeting place..food is always top quality and the beers on tap are always to someone’s liking!

Just had Sunday lunch at the Fieldhouse with visiting relatives. Was perfect from our greeting on arrival to the goodbyes when we left. First time we'd tried the "new" menu and everyone was really happy with what they'd chosen.

Big shout out to Freya. Offering an alternative to a liquor coffee which didn't meet the customer's expectations in a friendly and professional manner. Smiling and friendly as always. The real "lovely pub"

My local for 27 years. Usually visit once a week for drinks & occasionally food. Drinks & food always great. 50% chance of the staff saying hi & how can I help you or what drinks can I get you. The member of staff with the lovely long blonde hair barely acknowledged me today coupled with John the manager taking over when the pump ran out also no hello or sorry for the wait.

I’ve been twice now to the Fieldhouse and both times have been really enjoyable. The staff are friendly and the food has been really nice. I would definitely recommend going there and to get the Ember Inns app for any offers.

Booking was easy. On arrival we were shown to our table. Friendly and very good staff. Meals served quickly and hot. Very nice experience.

Overall it was a really nice looking establishment with friendly and welcoming staff. The restaurant was quite busy that afternoon but our order didn’t take that long to be served to us. The food was well presented really tasty and still hot which is a pleasant surprise as most restaurants serve some meals hot and some warm. Great place to eat and drink will defiantly return there.

I'd been here for a Birthday party and the food was good, so I booked to have the Sunday Roast and wasn't disappointed friendly staff servicing great beer and even more delicious food definitely worth a visit.

A lovely early evening in the sunshine before going inside to enjoy a delicious meal. My partner commented on how well the Proper Job beer was poured which is important when you appreciate a decent pint. Very friendly and accommodating bar staff

Went for a meal on Friday 17th May so wasn't sure what to expect as I hadnt been before. Whilst the bar was busy the staff were efficient and courteous, and speedily served the drinks. My friend had pre booked the table, which we were shown to by Glyn explained the mechanics of using the app he was super friendly and clearly good at his job , but my friend wanted to order at the bar. There was a small wait, but the food served was delicious. Would definitely recommend to friends (already have)

The food was amazing and the staff was lovely. We booked a table for 10 people for my husbands birthday yesterday Was very good service, was lovely will definitely come again. And the waitress with red hair and glasses was lovely ,

ordered the chicken skewer and my friend ordered chicken thighs they came out with fries and peas .. my flatbread was cold and rubbery .. couldn’t eat it the chicken looked anaemic .. honestly not good .. I wouldn’t eat here again .totally underwhelming and overpriced .however the lady behind the bar who served us was lovely and professional

What a gem! No wonder they're the top Ember Inns pub in the country. Food is absolutely delicious and consistently so, also very reasonably priced. There are loads of other pubs in the area which serve mediocre to underwhelming quality meals for extortionate prices....don't bother going to those places....go to the Fieldhouse and you are guaranteed an excellent and affordable meal, each and every time. Service is equally excellent, again consistently so. You see the staff working so hard, night after night, to make guests happy and management clearly take the reputation of the establishment very seriously. All staff friendly and accommodating. It's always busy so always sensible to book, you will not be disappointed! Very cosy and welcoming inside, unlike some other soulless, sparse pubs.

We were served by lovely bar staff who took our orders and we hot our meals within a reasonable time.

I use the Fieldhouse when visiting relatives in the area. Always lovely food and atmosphere.

I decided to take the babbies for supper after a softplay treat. We were astonished on the decor and quality of the grub they dished up. The staff were accommodating and were heavy on the banta. They kept the babbies entertained so it was perfect to conditions for me to catch my breath and network with the locals. Locals were dull, full of no craic and Yammererd on like the missus. But that's not the pubs fault. My advise get the kids in, order 4-5 pints with food and drive away asap.

There was a lovely atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the background music that was playing..it was a fabulous mix and not too loud that you can’t talk over it. The food was tasty and delicious. Nothing to fault at all.

Nice large Ember Inns pub. The real ale is usually good, always a friendly and familiar service. I was pleased to see Theakston's Old Peculiar on guest cask on my first visit, and it was a decent pint. It was hard to find a table on one of the Thursday evenings I popped in, because it was steak night and almost every table was either occupied or reserved.

I booked for Mother's Day as the Fieldhouse is one of her favourite places. I, on the other hand, already had low expectations as I am a vegetarian and know from previous visits that the selection is very poor. I had the vegan wellington, (although I am not a vegan, there was little choice), and was not disappointed as my hopes were not high anyway. I am not sure what the filling was, maybe a lump of frozen spinach, but it was not very appealing. The vegetable were cooked and as expected.

Went for a family meal. The Food was Delicious, The staff and service excellent and reasonable on the pocket. I would recommend The Fieldhouse to everyone for any occasion. 10/10

Despite dealing with a funeral wake we were treated very well with prompt service.

The Staff were very friendly and helpful. We looked the free entertainment, Swing and Soul night. Delightful.

Food was poor for the price and a member of barstaff was rude to my Wife....personally I wouldn't recomend....will not be going back.

Came here for a family meal, John and his team couldn’t have been more helpful. We ordered 6 meals and puddings all meals were amazing children were very happy. The whole Experian r and ambience was great 👍

Had a fabulous night tonight the entertainment was really good (Swing and Soul) the atmosphere was nice and the manager Glynn was amazing going above and beyond to accommodate us also thanks to the kitchen staff for staying open a bit longer than normal really appreciate it and the food was lovely as usual well done keep it up guys

We have visited the Fieldhouse many times for lunch and had always been very pleased with the quality and value for money. However, we had never been for Sunday lunch until last Sunday (18.2). We were very impressed with the quality of the roasts. Our friend had the beef and said it was the best Sunday lunch he had ever had. I had the chicken and ham duo and my husband had the chicken on its own. All were excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

The service was excellent - special shout for Saocha. You couldn’t see the bar for the forest of people, who the staff dealt with with humour and efficiency. Wonderful experience!

My only slight criticism would be that the vegetables in the vegan pie needed to have more variety and a firmer consistency. The beef my friend had was deemed very good.

My granddaughter's birthday found us at the fieldhouse. The staff were fantastic. Our food and drinks were brought to our table of 14, everything was delicious. They finished off by bringing her cake to the table. All round, a lovely morning. Thanks to John and all the staff.
