Always a lovely place for lunches and just perfect for the family wedding on saturday

My second visit to their cafe this year. Great service . Tasty , good quality bacon & egg sandwich. Each time I included a walk around the Lake. I'll be back again in June .

Went to see the Jersey 4 with my girlfriend and her mum,can't fault anything from the night.Service was perfect,as was the food and entertainment, will definitely be coming back soon, thankyou to all the staff.

We have been going to the Lakes tribute shows for about 18 years, always have a good time,the food is always very good,and the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.

Very disappointed . Lovely place but Sunday lunch was not good and not good value at all. Main Meal served on a plate bit bigger than a side plate for 18.95 . 1 parsnip spoonful cabbage . Meat tough and slapped on plate Bit gravy. The place is lovely staff were nice Even though we had to eat birthday cake on patio.

Perfect settings and amazing service will go here again 😀 also if you like fishing or night fishing it's a perfect place to get away for a couple days 😍

Great views, and lovely food, all served very efficiently by friendly and helpful staff, with our large group all being served nearly simultaneously.

Because we were on the last table I think they forgot to bring our starter so we informed the main man who quickly sorted us out with an extra roll. Food was really good. Staff very hard working. Will be back soon.

Unfortunately it was a bit like the Mary Celeste when we went, however the service was outstanding 👏

Had a good night out, it was a bit like being at a wedding, if you know what I mean. Drinks were reasonable, apart from Guinness that has nearly £7 a pint. Main courses were good, starters and puds ok. The staff worked their socks off and were very good. We went to a party night and we were disappointed that the band was only on for an hour of the night.

Food was unfortunately bad. Very dry and not so many options to be fair, for the way the place looks, you’d expect something else. Ordered at the bar, but food took a very long time to arrive. Would not come here to eat, just have a beer and enjoy the view.

Small quantities of tepid, undercooked food. Some desserts had run out. Gone massively down hill since the carvery was stopped.

This is my favourite place lovely staff but I’m so disappointed that the carvery is no longer available it beat every carvery place not impressed with the Sunday lunch today bring back the carvery it was great

Food and entertainment was excellent

Nice three course meal. Friendly staff. Followed by great entertainment and dancing. I'm 77 and was congratulated for being never off the dance floor on new years eve. Great night out. Ideal for something special.

Great place for a party, drinks are reasonable, don't get ripped off like other venue's.....food was good, service was good. Entertainment was great with a late bar as well!

We attended a meal/music evening last Saturday. The food was good, the group brilliant, drinks reasonably priced and waiting staff friendly and efficient. Unfortunately they didn`t stop people taking drinks on the dance floor and my partner had a drink spilled down her back.

The lakes are really nice, my family were thrilled to be here. We enjoyed the music and dance, we love the Christmas songs at the end of the night.

Lovely food but don't accept cash which is a pain

Went for breakfast. Chose the full English which was delicious and portion was generous. Good quality bacon and sausages. Coffee rather disappointing to be honest and small portion from a machine. Seems like a golfers haven inside. Outside views are absolutely gorgeous, you can look right out onto the lake. Super to walk the dog around, takes about 20 minutes. The one thing that would make the lake more lovely to enjoy is bins. There isn't one so fishermen often dump their litter and doggie poo bags are left pathside. An easy fix guys 😀

Christmas party night was brilliant. Live band was a blast. One note is the young staff needs more training for getting food out to tables.

Lovely meal with group of friends however it was slightly spoilt with rushed service as well as inaccurate bill with additional items that required amending!! Also IT requires improvement as having to walk to the bar to make a card payment should not happen in 2023.

Good bacon rolls and cold beer, everything a golfer needs!

If you go to Barston Lakes you know the food will be OK and you expect to have a good night's entertainment. Rand A Tang was playing and they were terrible! To start with we thought we'd turned up at a kids party with the childish antics, then as the set continued the snippets of music kept changing so quickly you couldn't get up and dance, hence the dance floor was never busy. The quality of singing was also debatable with most songs just being the chorus. We've been to Barston many times and this was by far the worst entertainment we've seen!

Went to see The Jersey Boys night. What can I say, great atmosphere, great food, great service, and superb entertainment. 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend and will be returning 👌

I went there with a group of people. I had salmon and veg and hollandaise sauce. The vegetables I like a bit more cooked but delicious. Fruit salad or apple pie with cream or custard.

Second time that we have been to the Lake would go again

We had lunch then an Abba tribute for entertainment. A great time and in a beautiful setting.

Lovely place, beautiful setting, good food, good service and a walk around the lake when the weather permits it.

Lovely place to eat after a long local walk.

Lovely stroll around the lake followed by a convivial stop at the clubhouse for some tea and muffins sat outside with wonderful views over the 18th and the lake. An added benefit is to see some skilled fishermen at work.

Had a pre paid family meal a cavary 40 of us young and old. Service was very good. Special food requirements we'll catered for. Not a big choice of veg but everyone was happy Drinks were reasonably priced. Nice surroundings inside and out. We would go back, might have a meal and band night as advertised.

Really enjoyed Faye Horne’s Diva show on Saturday. She was fab with an incredible voice! Nailed Adele, TIne T, Shirley Bassey, Whitney, Shania etc. Great personality, defo be back to see her next time she visits

Lovely setting with a lake and golf course. Well maintained building, comfortable dining area. Clean toilets facilities and disabled parking and toilet. Good place to visit except the meals, although reasonably priced, were poor value, and very disappointing on the occasion of our visit. Otherwise, it was pleasant, and we sat outside after lunch in a good seating area.

Jersey Boys tribute. Great night. Super friendly staff. Food was perfect. Big crowd of us and we all had a great night.

We have been to two tribute nights and on both occasions the food, entertainment and service has been absolutely superb. The location is so beautiful. The staff were friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble. A***** on everything. We will definitely be visiting again

We went on a day they had a wedding. It felt a little awkward as there was no direction to walk to the back of the bar and felt like you were intruding on guests. However, the food was at the snack bar was nice and the service was great.

This is one of the best places to spend a day with the family. One can enjoy the drinks, delicious food, golf, walk around the lake or sir on the bench and chat. Lovely place.

You can't fault the service or quality brilliant on everything

I visited West Midlands Golf Club, for an inter club seniors golf match. After the game we ate in The Lake at Barston Restaurant. We were served a mixed grill and the food was very good. The service was good. There is parking and easy accessibility for anyone with a disability.

Toasted club sandwich was excellent.

Great place for a spot of lunch - appreciated the option of a 'small plate' - which was still a very decent portion. The eclairs for dessert were amazing! And the view of the lake was fantastic..

Asked a question to waitress never returned at to ask again . Table set for 8people only 6 glasses on table . No decafe coffee.

Used the restaurant as part of a golf event, service wasn't great, good was nothing special but adequate and the restaurant was pretty dead except for our group.

Fantastic setting, golf club, lake, and great barcand restaurant. Food is great, you can eat at the restaurant or the bar area. Great for a casual drink, great seating area outside.

Visited for a birthday party, excellent service from staff, Food was a carvery, had sirloin beef, etc lovely tastes. also a pate starter, a bottle of Malbec red wine, then we all went outside to a beautiful setting, while some golfers had just finished the golf course. we had further drinks outside. then taxi back. excellent day thanks to the Manager Ken...very polite & helpful. Well done.

Me and my husband have used this venue as our wedding reception on 15/04/23. I'm so glad to have found this venue. It has a massive car park, beautiful surroundings which you can see straight from your seat!, tasty food and fantastic service. Amy looked after us from start to finish. Even with a few changes last minute, she was ready to assist without any issues. The staff were amazing and friendly and made everything run smooth on our big day. Everyone had so much fun, that even weeks later, our guests are still talking about our wedding 😊 This wouldn't be possible without Amy and all the lovely staff ❤️ For our starter, we have picked carrot and corriander soup. For the main, Supreme of Chicken with Red Wine Gravy & baby Onion sauce, Fries Parmentier, Mangetouts, Buttered Carrots, Cauliflower Cheese. And the for the dessert, brownie and ice cream. We've had so many positive comments about the food and the venue. I cannot wait to visit again. Amy also helped us to structure our full day with timings etc. I just want to say a huge thank you for helping us make our day so special xxx

First time fishing at Barston lakes and didn't disappoint

Had dinner and a show, good food and entertainment. Card payments for drinks only. Area very pretty, I believe there are walks although not sure of this.

Great food, service and atmosphere

Brilliant night for my 60th birthday celebration with friends. ABBA tribute band were so entertaining. For £30 a head the service was perfect, lovely bar staff and customers service unremarkable while booking.Angela ensured all food was pre booked and organised so it arrived to the table without any hiccups. Food was very nice. We really had no complaints at all. A very memorable occasion. I could have booked a cordon bleu expensive meal in the city centre that would have been forgotten in now time but this will remain a lovely memory for me. Was so much fun!

I didn’t realise it was the 1980’s already. A massive volume of mainly bland food served on budget crockery for the Mother’s Day £35 carvery. Everyone was very friendly though, they even smiled as they took my money.

I was at Barston a couple of weeks ago for a fundraising event. We all had a brilliant night, staff were very organised and helpful and worked hard to make the event go so smoothly. Looking forward to visiting again.

My wife and I visited here for afternoon lunch. A beautiful place situated in fields, a golf course and a lake. There is a large carpark with ample parking. A young lad served us who was polite and friendly. From the menu for starters we had Soup of the Day which was Carrots and Coriander served with a Bun and butter. Our main course was Brazen Lamb Shank and Vegetarian dish of the week. The portions are quite filling but for dessert I enjoyed a Apple pie with cream and my wife Profiteroles with chocolate sauce and cream. After our lunch we took a stroll around the lake. There is fishing as there were several anglers sat around the lake. A nice afternoon which we recommend to everyone and we will come again. They do have live singers in the Summer months. This is something else we will look forward to.

We went to see a act called reggalicious the act was good everybody dancing then food was a let down we had the chicken bacon mush pie I picked out the chicken and left the rest wasn't very nice for the extra money it had some kind if flavouring in which wasnt very nice profiteroles was OK they over done with the sauces on the plate was choclate sauce toffee sauce and rasberry colous which spoilt it but the waitresses work hard and cannot do enough for you so well done waitresses would go again and reccomend for a good night out

I have been to a couple of tribute shows here - boybands & noughties/nineties. It's a clean spacious venue. The food I have had here was tasty and the staff serving are friendly and helpful. We have enjoyed the live music and dancefloor very much

Went to Rod Stewart tribute night. He was excellent. Food was good & overall we had an enjoyable evening. Plenty of parking spaces.

On our last visit Friday 27th January 2023, we found the standard meals have been very much improved in the starter and dessert bracket, and the standard chicken main course was also better, tasty, and nicely presented. However, note that it is still a chicken breast and veg with a light sauce. Other options at additional cost are available. The act were good, they sang and entertained very well. The disco afterwards played danceable songs, the atmosphere was enjoyable all evening, and good fun on the dance floor was had by most. The drinks available at this venue are unfortunately still of very ordinary quality, but the wine list seems to have been improved. It's worth mentioning that the interior has been refurbished and is much more attractive and better lit. The staff were helpful, attentive, and friendly. Would now recommend.

I had a lovely lunch with my team as a Christmas get together. Food and service were absolutely fantastic and even the fussiest on my team were happy. Definitely use again as it was also budget friendly.
