My brother got married here and I can only say a massive thank you to Mark and his team. They were super helpful and proactive on making the day flow very well, and accommodated many last minute changes to maximise the sunshine in the garden area. Big big thank you to all on the Saturday and Sunday. Only trouble we had with the venue was with my mum and dad's room (room 8 I think) Their lock was not working and had to sleep with the door slightly open. Also, so many of us had to keep going to the room to help as no one was able to fix the issue. Some close family ended up missing some of the wedding day. Gutted as we cannot recreate those moments again, I hope this does not happen to any future guests who attend a wedding here!

Stayed at the Nailcote as attending a conference nearby. Was offered the option to eat in bar or Oak Room. Very few tables in bar, either occupied or dirty, also not suitable to sit and eat a proper meal only sandwich type food as low tables. We were seated in the restaurant, menu sounded lovely. Chose main courses and no starters as wanted desert. Ordered drinks and wine by the glass. So firstly, side plates and wine glasses were not removed from the table. Having worked in restaurants of this calibre this would be normal practice. Food was a while but fair enough if cooked to order. My colleagues chicken should have been stuffed, however no sign of any stuffing and so small it could have been have been a poussin. Very overcooked and dry, We later saw a chicken dish on tdh menu with no stuffing and assume it was this one but were charged a la carte price. Sea bass was ok but dry on top and soggy skin underneath and padded out with lots of new potatoes. Not the standard expected for the price. We finished main course and side plates and wine glasses remained in the table. Deserts mediocre, pastry so hard on apple crumble tart it was inedible. We found out the table next to us were told they couldn’t order deserts as ovens were turned off, this was before we had ordered. We finished and paid the bill with side plates and glasses remaining. Went to the bar for a drink after, all tables dirty to the extent of tomato ketchup smeared over most of them. Had our drinks and left promptly. Went down for breakfast the next morning assuming breakfast is very hard to get wrong. Unfortunately not! Scrambled egg very pale and dry, my colleague had already had his served. I asked if there was an alternative and was told yes any type of egg, requested poached at which point the server plated up my breakfast and took to kitchen to add the poached egg, by the time it arrived back everything else was cold. Although possibly a lucky escape as my colleagues egg was so full of egg shell it was inedible. Such a shame as portrayed as high standard food. Restaurant very old fashioned with leather bound menus and very dark and drab and overpriced for the quality received.

We have been using Nailcote Hall for business meeting for around 6 years now. I cannot recommend them enough. Their teams are lovely & accommodating to us and my bizarre and often late requests! Special thank you to Chelsea the reception supervisor, who managed to calmly and efficiently deal with me in a flap on Monday evening before our most recent meeting yesterday. We have eaten here a few times and have never had a bad experience. The prices are not cheap but this is reflected in the quality of the food and service. The menu has enough choice to satisfy all tastes and changes regularly offering seasonal, local dishes. Special mention must go to the maitre d’ / manager who balances unobtrusive service with an excellent knowledge of the menu. The complimentary appetiser is a nice touch. I would definitely recommend The Oak Room and we will return.

This place has all the charm to be an amazing location for a romantic stay. The bed was queen size in a top of the range room (don’t believe the pictures). The shower was pants. The noise from the dining room for breakfast was incredible, it carries into the bedrooms above at 730. For lunch they put us in a dark room, next to the kitchen, with a kitchen spotlight to eat our 40th birthday celebration. Very poor, defo not 4 star at all. The food was nice though.

Spent a very enjoyable few hours at Nailcote Hall with family. Staff were all charming and helpful. Food was of a high standard although there were a few exceptions. We particularly liked the meat being carved at the table and very generous portions. The Elton Mess and soufflé were hits but the Hazelnut cheesecake was not so popular. The vegetables were plentiful and tasty but a little too tasty for some as everything was richly cooked in butter, the cauliflower cheese was excellent if you like cheese. The vegetarian option of a vegetable strudel was great when first served but the pastry soon became soggy. So to sum up, flawless service, lovely surroundings and great food if you have a rich palate. Personally I would eat there any day but not necessarily every guest would join me.

Came here for afternoon tea with girlfriends. Service was actually very good, a very charming gent who made sure we were well looked after and had everything we needed. The place itself while old in style, I thought was very tired looking, even down to table linen and the carpets/ chair covers. The afternoon tea was reasonable, a couple of the sandwiches were a bit dry. Not the best I have ever had, and at £20 each (no alcohol) I thought it was a bit on the pricey side so I wouldn't say it was as good value for money as other places I've had afternoon tea. I probably wouldn't come back but only through personal choice and knowing there are many other places out there offering good value afternoon tea.

Booked a Meerkat 2-1 meal in the Oakroom Restaurant. The staff were 10 minutes late collecting us from the bar to take us to our table and unusually at that stage no order had been taken. We sat for around 15 minutes before anyone came to our table to take our order. After about 15 minutes a polite young lady arrived with a bread roll and then a little later a small canapé arrived. We must then have waited a further 30 minutes for the 1st course to be brought to us. Following the first course we seemed to wait an eternity, probably around half an hour for the heat waiter to arrive to set up the equipment to prepare the Steak Diane at our table. He then disappeared again for around 10 minutes before returning to cook our meal. We then rather stupidly ordered a portion of Cheese And Biscuits to share. Again long wait. A 7.30 booking saw us leave at 9.45. On a positive side the food was excellent as were the staff that were on duty. I do think that these establishments need to get some realism into their pricing. Even with the 2-1 offer I still had a bill of just over £70 and the only extras to the meal was 2 orange juices and 2 medium glasses of Pinot Grigio (charged at £7.25 a glass and 2 filter coffees. Good as the Steak Dianne was and even with the special sense and excitement of it being cooked at the table is it really a £32.00 meal. In fairness we did go into the meal with our eyes open as the restaurant clearly prints its prices on the web page.

We had lunch at the Oak Room restaurant on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I’m not sure whether the menu is different on Sundays but the mains seemed to be pretty much carvery fare. The starters were tasty and beautifully presented. My husband and I both had the roast beef for our mains and it was delicious - perfectly pink and so tender. Our daughter had a vegetarian option which looked very appealing. Accompanying vegetables were not over cooked which was great. And desserts were lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful and prices reasonable. We would definitely return.

We had Sunday Lunch here on Remembrance Day 11th November, we arrived at 11.45am for a 12 noon Oak Room Lunch reservation, we first went into the bar area for a pre lunch drink, there was no barman in attendance so I went to reception to enquire if any one was serving behind the bar, five minutes later someone appeared! We both chose the two course lunch, starters were one Pate and a Brie and Blueberry tart with rocket, both were just OK. Our mains were one Roast Lamb and one medium rare roast beef, the Lamb was extremely fatty and the Beef and gravy both flavourless, however the vegetables were nice and well cooked. I guess our biggest shortcoming was the quality of the service which you would expect in such a nice venue (on duty were a Maitre de and two waitresses) professional service personnel should be "seen but not heard" however our service was "heard but not seen!!" When eating food you do not wat to be listening to who can cover this shift and that shift, or what happened when out the previous evening!!! Overall a very disappointing Luncheon experience, costs at £66.50 for two drinks and two course lunch with poor service is just far to expensive!! definitely not to return nor could we recommend!!!!

The Oak Room has a wonderful log fire burning in its ancient grate at the moment, creating a perfect atmosphere of olde England. The food is however is as fresh and up-to-the moment as you could hope for, yet I love the classics served here. I recently had Dover sole cooked on the bone and expertly prepared. (It was delicious and as good a fish as I've had anywhere in Europe). The celeriac soup is divine. I tend to order a bit off-piste at times (being a non-meat eater) and I am never disappointed whether I have a small pasta dish or a tart with mashed potatoes. They serve champagne by the glass - and a super one it is too. I recommend the Delas Cotes de Ventoux red wine (but please leave a few bottles for me!). Going back to the atmosphere however, there was one night recently when it crossed my mind that this establishment was trying to create for its diners the impression they were eating in a Tesco Superstore - so relentless was the Christmas playlist. It was exhausting listening to such naff songs dredged up by B-list artistes. Thankfully another diner emphatically asked for 'the music' to be 'turned down'. Little things could take this restaurant into a new dimension - such as some professional care from a top notch interior designer. The new curtains are nice, though the Christmas decorations look rather 1980s and are not nearly grand enough: real log fires deserve to be framed by real pine cone trees. Service is always excellent and old school (which I like). The staff are characterful and charming. Just a quick word while I am here about breakfast and service. Again, it's very professional, kind and accommodating - and great value food. Perfectly done fresh eggs. The fruit platter has to be seen to be believed! Like the dinner rolls, danish pasties are baked freshly. Always make a reservation for dinner. As you'd expect, it's not cheap, with mains usually between £20 and £35.

One can not complain about this hotel, the staff is friendly, rooms are clean, but nevertheless, we had expected something different. The photographs of the timber wood house are a bit misleading, as this is only one side of the hotel. A lot of the rooms are actually in a modern building, and are very much like hotel rooms of chain hotels all over the world; functional, comfortable, but without character and soul. We had actually asked for a room in the old part of the building weeks in advance, but unfortunately did not receive that. The restaurant menue is in fact quite pricy, so that we had dinner elsewhere. Also breakfast was somewhat akward. Not only did we have to wait for a quarter of an hour to get a table, also the food was scattered in different rooms, and choice was somewhat limited. In summary, this is a good hotel, and we went back and forth in our rating between three star and four star, but I guess it is a 3+ or a 4-. But it should be said, that this could easily be an excellent hotel with a few changes made.

This hotel looks lovely from the outside. It does have a certain charm. It's clearly geared up for events. A function room and marquee right next to the main hotel. This means there is a LOT of noise. We went to the NEC and were back around midnight, but the music went on until nearly 2am. I would have been furious if we were trying to have a quiet weekend! Rooms are a little dated and a bit grubby. The dining room is very dark, very 80's! Again, areas in the hotel are grubby. The breakfast was not terrible, but not very pleasant. Greasy and cold with poor choice. Pool was very nice, but changing area was sub zero!! Reception staff were not very helpful on check in. Restaurant staff were very friendly if a little disorganised! I have stayed in much nicer hotels for a lot less money! Stear clear!

I booked a private dining meal for a 50th wedding anniversary. There were around 20 of us with ages ranging from 18 months to 75 years! Carole went above and beyond to deliver excellent service to us all! Nothing was too big or too small. The 3 courses we all had were all superb and excellent quality. Followed by tea and coffee! We were all very impressed. We all had rooms booked as well which were also of very high quality! I slept in room 27 and the bed was amazing! So comfortable! Would recommend that room to anyone! We all used the swimming pool and had a fantastic time! They have toys and floats for the little ones so they were even happier. Overall my meal, stay and swimming were all fabulous and we all had a fantastic time celebrating the wedding anniversary!! I would not hesitate in using Nailcote Hall again!!

We stayed at the Hotel in one of their amazing bedrooms and decided to eat in their restaurant. One of the waitresses, Carole, was very friendly, advising us for our choices of meals. The food didn't disappoint. We both had Steak, cooked as requested, and piping hot when it arrived. The meat was amazing. Succulent and fresh, and complimented by the lovely chunky chips that it came with.Desert was incredible....a warm chocolate brownie dish that made me want to ask for seconds. The Nailcote Hall know how to treat their guests and diners, and helped to make an amazing night memorable for all the right reasons. Thanks a million!

We had a very disappointing and very expensive meal in the Oak Restaurant at Nailcote Hall. We will not return and I would not recommend it to friends.

We were taken here as a thank you by friends. Nice restaurant in a nice location. We waited in the bar, whilst checking the menu and ordered. We were then escorted to our table. The food was very good as was the service. My wife had the steak Diane flambe at our table. A nice evening, the restaurant was very quiet. I do not know what the bill was, but i think the wine was a little expensive.

I stayed here for 1 night with my daughter and my young grandson. We had 2 interconnecting rooms. The rooms were spacious and since they were interconnected, we each had our "space" but were together at the same timeThe pool was great with good friendly staff. There was also a children's pool and a jacuzzi. Breakfast was cooked to order with very friendly staff, who were family oriented. Would definitely stay there again

Nailcote is a beautiful olde world Manor House, which has been tastefully converted into a hotel and golf centre. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable and a are very nice indeed. The Meals served in the Restaurant are very good and the service was good but not exceptional ! There were a few minor issues such as forgetting to bring chips and sauce with the meals and they took 8- 10 minutes to appear. The service and lack of professionalism in the lounge area were right out of Fawlty Towers !Not enough bar staff and those were beautifully turned out but completely clueless. One customer ordered a bar meal (fish and chips) which duly arrived and was very nice. When he asked for vinegar about a quarter of a pint of it arrived in a milk jug !Three ordered Cottage Pie with a side order of chips and some gravy.3 cottage pies turned up, 5 minutes later 2 sets of cutlery arrived with 2 pots of gravy and 3 portions of chips.2 folks tucked into theirs leaving the 3rd to sit their for 10 minutes for their cutlery to arrive followed 5 minutes later by 2 pots of gravy. The next evening one member of the party waited 1.5 hours for their Chicken mains, which was an hour after the cutlery. There was no evidence of any management being present whatsoever !Will I be back ? No !

We enjoyed a lovely meal the night before a wedding. The service was excellent and the food was very good. It was fairly pricey (£25 for sirloin steak and chips) but we did get breads, a tapas and petit fours as part of the price. The breakfast in the morning was also very nice-full English and also a selection of cereals, pastries and fruit. We found the staff very attentive. Many thanks. Would recommend.

I recently went for a wedding. It was absolutely amazing here. The master of ceremony or mistress I should say was a force to be reckoned with but she kept it running like clockwork for the bride and groom. It was great to see it all work like clockwork. Food was great, grounds were beautiful, bar staff and reception were extreamly lovely and helpful. The day was gorgeous. We arrives for breakfsst which was wonderful but staff would talk about work situations and other staff members around you so that was a little uncomfortable, that and I left the table for a few mins and my full breakfast was taken. But staff were great apart from that I didn't get to eat my full breakfast. They were helpful and polite and very good. On the information it says not to wear casual clothes in the breakfast hall although a few people wore shorts etc. I wish I hadn't of bothered dressing for breakfast. I felt the dress code not being enforced detracted from the experience a little. The room I stayed in was extreamly hot. Other guests had Air con and our room didn't even get a fan I'm afraid. Other guests who'd paid the same as I, had Air con and guests that paid more had none so there wasn't really any way of knowing when booking. If you go in summer ask for a room with air con as you'll fry. If I could be assured the room had air con I'd be back but thank you for the pleasant stay. X

Visited and stayed here a few times and it never fails to deliver. The staff are friendly and helpful with nothing too much trouble. The facilities are great and the food is excellent. With the added bonus of a little par-3 golf course that you can play in under an hour this place ticks a lot of boxes and is certainly worth a visit for business or pleasure.

We visited here for my birthday and were so pleased with our experience. Glyn was absolutely lovely, very professional and personable. We had a bit of a mix up where the receptionist had told us dress shorts and a shirt were fine, however, upon arrival we were told they were not! This meant that we weren't able to have the best table due to their policy but Glyn was very polite about this. They also gave us both a complimentary glass of prosecco, which was a lovely touch. The menu was old school classics, and they were all brilliantly executed. My pork belly starter was devine, and so was my Dover sole. I'm not normally a desserts kind of girl, but the raspberry soufflé was the very best I've ever had! (And my other half is a chef/restaurateur in the Michelin guide!)They also brought out the petite fours on a 'Happy Birthday' plate, which was very thoughtful. At the end of this wonderful experience we even had the added bonus of using a Tastecard, which gave us 50% off the food, incredible! We will most definitely return!

An anniversary visit and the quality of food and service was immaculate. Our starters included smoked salmon and the asparagus perfectly cooked with risotto. However, the steak diane cooked at our table just melted in the mouth. Halibut also was excellent, as was the crepe suzette cooked at the table. Wonderful experience

This was my birthday treat, carefully selected by the delicious looking dishes on the website. We parked in the huge car park, overlooking the beautiful golf course. The restaurant entrance was in the older part of the building. We were directed to sit in the bar to wait for the menues. The barman was very busy gathering trays of empty glasses, and ignored us for at least 10 minutes, despite being the only people in the rather sad looking bar area. The menus were delivered and our hearts sank at the basic choices on offer. Roast Beef, roast pork, chicken supreme, sea trout and vegatarian pasta. Hopefully we thought it would be beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Finally the barman realised that we would like a drink, 2 cokes, a virgin mary and vodka soda were ordered. The soda had no vodka and the tomato juice had no spice, but the cokes were fine!We went through to the fine dining restaurant; a 1980's throw back to match the menu. Our smoked salmon starters arrived. 5 wheels of salmon and two huge buttered trangles of brown bread(shop bought). My husband requested a glass of wine, and I ordered another vodka soda..hoping the vodka would make it into the glass this time. The wine took 3 attempts and a concerned waitress to finally arrive. Then the beef was carved at the table, it was prettty thoroughly cooked. Huge yorkshire puddings and reheated roast potatoes were added to the plates. We were asked if we would like gravy, which was added to our plates by the staff who drowned the plate in the rich gravy. Thoroughly cooked parsnip cubes and carrot slices were then delivered in a sperate dish. The food was presented in a pile it high, casual way. Definately not part of the food revolution that has swept most of England. This is solid 1980's dining at its best.

The reception on arrival was poor, no information about facilities, breakfast we had to ask all the questions as the lady looked at us waiting for us to leave. They didn't inform us a wedding was happening in the same building as our room and so we nearly walked into the whole thing! The food is really mixed we had a poor lunch, Cold greasy chips with the sandwich and poor service then a nice evening meal with an amazing soufflé (although steak was over cooked but they took that from our bill) but then back to a poor breakfast in the morning. All fried not grilled and builders cafe standard. Room fine and swimming pool was good. So up and down is the best way to sum this place up.

If your head is turned by a decent golf course and pictures of "celebs" on the wall then this could just be the place for you. Went to a private function attended by 150 plus. Greeted by 2 bar staff one of whom was clearly on his first day/week. Not his fault of course but given that the resulting wait for drinks was what we had sought to avoid and given the prior warning of numbers , a far better standard of service had been expected. We were seated on a table of ten. The fact that the knives and forks were approx six to seven inches apart gave a fair indication of how cramped it was going to be. The tables should have had eight seated at the most. The food was good, as was the service but the culinary points gained were wiped out by the fact that the red wine served was either straight out of the fridge or kept outside. This somewhat added insult to the injury of paying out nearly 20 quid for a bottle of very second rate house wine! The requested replacement ( a more expensive option) bottle was no better and returned so we gave up and opened a raffle prize which was at room temperature and very drinkable. Just to expand on this point, I expect to pay more for wine in a hotel than in a pub but for a place that markets itself as it does there really is no excuse for serving second rate red wine at sub zero temperatures. My instinctive decision not to book a room was i think vindicated. I would not choose this venue again. Stick to the nearby alternatives, unless of course you like golf and celebs.

Honestly the food, service and how cold the place was left me surprised . I cannot say anything about this was good.Breakfast was cold plates, cold food, cold room and you helped yourself to what was left. Cold scrambled eggs was the only choice of eggs which were bland, cold sausage was greasy and the toast soggy and cold.No one guides you to the room or seats you or explains how you get anything you fumble through yourself. At least coffee was hot and decent. The evening meal starter was superb , but the main courses were bland and the steak cold. Would I eat here again NEVERIt was disappointing and the staff seam rightfully embarrassed working there. They act 5 start but you have to pour your own wine, it was freezing and even my 4year old sent his meal back.Overall there are better places - we had lunch at Mcdonalds at least that was warm and tasty . Sorry, but overall terrible

We went there for a birthday dinner à deux.We were dismayed when we found he room totally empty, but Carol, the Maîtresse d', soon put us at our ease, lit the log fire and was a fine companion for us while she served and cooked, tableside, our dinner. We had a couple of ameuses bouche and sorbets as freebies, and the cooking is of a very high standard. A Dover sole was perfectly filleted in front of us.Crêpes Suzette were delicious. This is one of the best restaurants in Warwickshire. Don't try to book next week as they are full with guests from the NEC Spring Fair!
