Buena comida, algunos de los servicios más amables y profesionales que hemos experimentado en cualquier pub hasta la fecha. Decidimos reservar nuestra cena de Navidad 2023 en el Bulls Head. Permítanme decir que hemos comido fuera el día de Navidad durante muchos años, pero nunca nos hemos sentido ningún pub / restaurante digno de volver por segunda vez, hasta que encontramos la cabeza de toros! Desde el momento en que caminamos en el día de Navidad, se sintió como Navidad. Todo el personal estaba vestido de maravilla, incluso algunos de los chicos tenían brillo en la barba y teniendo en cuenta que la Navidad se trata de sorpresas, bueno , las pequeñas sorpresas foodie estaban en un nivel diferente y hay champán a la llegada! Tuvimos un tiempo maravilloso allí y pedimos que nos pusieran en la lista de Navidad para 2024. Usted puede pensar ' ¿por qué me tomó tanto tiempo para escribir esta crítica? ' Bueno, esto fue solo por si nuestra Navidad 2023 era una experiencia única (ya que nos había decepcionado anteriormente por nuestra experiencia de comidas del día de Navidad en otros lugares) No fue así en el Bulls Head , ¿podría ser el día de Navidad de 2024 tan bueno o mejor que el año anterior ? -¡absolutamente podría! Todo el mundo fue más allá para hacernos bienvenidos , la comida era increíble y algunas más de esas pequeñas sorpresas fabulosas foodie para añadir a la experiencia de Navidad. Una vez más todo el personal se vistió fabulosamente y de manera única. El chef salió a charlar sobre las ideas de comida que había inventado y algunos de los retos que había tenido perfeccionando sus ideas. Estamos deseando reservar nuestro día de Navidad 2025 tan pronto como la reserva esté disponible y entre hoy y entonces , vamos a estar visitando regularmente para el almuerzo del domingo porque esto también es un ganador al igual que el desayuno - ¿qué más puedo decir ? Estamos deseando ver lo que trae la nueva renovación y esperamos que mantenga la autenticidad que hace que este pub casual sea tan único.

One of our absolute favourite pubs. The food is consistently great and service is always welcoming, professional and friendly. Delicious Sunday lunch today and what a bonus to have a voucher giving us 100% off! Highly recommend.

Un lugar encantador para comer con muy buena comida. El personal y el ambiente son muy buenos. Sin embargo, una cosa estropea nuestra visita de hoy para mí. La falta de órdenes secundarias adecuadas! Tenía el vientre de cerdo frito crujiente con patata rosti y espinaca. Me gustan mis verduras y no había pedidos secundarios, por ejemplo, verduras al vapor mixtas, que podía ordenar para agregar a mi plato principal. A pesar de que era domingo y domingo se estaban sirviendo asados con acompañamientos - al preguntar - el chef aconsejó y se negó a permitirme añadir más verduras a mi pedido! Y ciertamente no quería la opción de verduras mediterráneas. Necesitas mirar más a fondo tus opciones de menú

Llegué para que nos dijeran que habían tenido problemas durante el día y habría una espera de al menos 45 minutos para nuestros 7 . 30 mesa disponible. La zona de espera estaba llena con 2 grupos grandes esperando para sentarse también, Podríamos sentarnos a la mesa en el bar, probamos esto, hacía frío y en medio de una gran fiesta de cumpleaños familiar. Nos fuimos, muy decepcionados

Came for Lunch & was pleasantly surprised. For a Thursday lunch time it seemed busy, we ordered food from the lunch menu which came in a reasonably good time. I had the steak sandwich which was beautifully cooked! There wasn’t one bit of chewy steak which is always a win - highly recommend. The staff were super friendly and fussed my dog lots - which is always a sign of a good country pub 👍🏼 will definitely be back to try the main menu next. And will be visiting in the summer to sit in the outside area as it looked beautiful. Thank you again

We only booked the afternoon of our visit and although the restaurant was fully booked, and we had a wheelchair user with us the team accommodated us in the bar area. The service was great, from the young lady behind the bar to the gentlemen that looked after us at our table. They're was a great choice on the menu, we had 3 meals off the Sunday lunch menu and 1 off the "normal" menu. All the food was really tasty and the portions were a great size. Nothing was too much trouble for the team and we will certainly be back for more excellent food and service

First time we've been for a long time and if it was this good last time not sure why we haven't been back. Food from the grill was really tasty and the amber and golden ales delicious. Lovely food on a cracking venue

A bad experience here where they don't serve you quickly because the place was jammed packed and the bar staff served others instead of yourself. It was disappointing as the ratings were very good - we walked out and found a pub where they served us straight away with a smile.

Very good food by brilliant and sociable chef

Calamari they serve was toooo salty, I have ask the waitress and she said it was the breading but I don’t believe as I haven’t tasted like that kind of salty calamari before. I think she is just don’t want to investigate or ask the chef what he have done.

Booked a table for a birthday celebration on a busy Saturday night. With 13 covers we were asked to pre order the food which was easy and sensible. Communication with Chris before the meal was excellent as was his attention during our time there. Great food and service all night - despite storm Darragh. We love the place for Sunday lunch but first time we had gone there for an evening meal and won’t be the last

Una de las mejores cenas de domingo que he tenido. El servicio era de primera clase; todo el personal de espera era amable y accesible nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. ¡Volveremos! Muy recomendable.

It is a half decent pub, but the gents toilet always smells and they do allow dogs, often there are lots of them growling and barking at each other.

Booked for a family meal, couldn’t have chosen a better spot. Service was excellent - prompt and attentive without hurrying us along. Menu has a great range of pub classics and lighter fare, and our food tasted excellent. With the fire lit aswell, this was a perfect autumn afternoon! 👌

We had Sunday lunch here for my birthday and it was lovely. Food and drink was brilliant. Good portions without over facing you. Nice atmosphere and all the staff were nice. Looks like it would also be a great place to come in the summer. Only small issue was we ordered stuffing each as and extra. When I came there was a lot! Would have been nice for the staff to have advised us on this. Very minor thing and obviously didn't have an impact on our visit. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay.

Ate here as part of a larger party today. The pub is smartly presented but fairly typical of a more upmarket countryside place. Nothing spectacular but a nice place to be. Table I felt was very cramped, party of 10 on a table which would normally seat 8 only with a chair jammed on each end. Restaurant was very warm, uncomfortably so at times. Service was excellent, all of the servers who touched our table were personable and just the right level of casual. Food was of a good standard all round. My risotto was tasty, if a bit strangely presented. Not sure any veggie risotto is worth the near £20 price tag mind. The price probably being inflated by the chefs using out of season asparagus. I’m unsure of the menu is dictated to the kitchens by a chain pub head office or whether the kitchen is autonomous but a more seasonal choice of vegetable would probably be a good idea. Still, it was tasty all the same. Most people on our table had a Sunday roast and the reviews were good all round. Generous portions and tasty food. Dessert was nice, most of us had the chocolate tart. Very vice and a large portion. Base was quite thick and required a knife to get through rather than the provided spoon. I feel there is equal or nicer food available locally for a cheaper price but if you do choose to come here you’ll have a decent meal with good service.

£25.30 for 4 pints of beer? Ridiculously expensive. Go to the Bluebell literally just down the road and literally half the price!

Do not worth it to come for the steak. Asked for medium well got rare and so salted could barely eat it..

We didn't enjoy the food there, and the attitude of the Manager there didn't help a bad night out.

Went there to eat, good service but when we pointed out to waiter that our steak pies tasted good but were lacking in meat. The service did slip was going to leave a good tip but that slipped as the service slipped.

Absolutely awful paid almost £400 as there was a few of us, so had to pre order via their form WT* food - this was awful some did not have theirs in time so didn't eat together, food not cooked correctly e.g. over cooked steak so didnt eat it, fish batter under cooked. Drinks- they got that wrong how??? Service- rubbish, one guy was concerned he was apologetic however manager couldn't care less challenged me if I had actually ordered fish and chips I had to evidence I had ordered it. Atmosphere- Good we used to love this place as we're local I did amazing reviews but now never going back Rude rude rude.

We keep coming back here simply because the food is consistently excellent, as is the friendly service. We’ve brought friends and and family here and they all agree. Great rural location as well.

OMG RUBBISH - if i could give no stars I would, this was the worst it has ever been here; we spent almost £400 and I wish I had never came here, we were inside and pre booked (a joke). Service - this was absolutely shocking, they could not even get drinks orders correct, the table became overflowing with empties and no-one came to collect them. Food - OMG RUBBISH, one of our party didn't even get their meal most had finished before it came then we had to ask for it, and the arrogant, ignorant, unprofessional big guy with beard (I believe to be the duty manager or something) never introduced himself when he spoke with me - questioned that I actually ordered the dish (fish and Chips) wow, as I had to pre-order the food as well I hand my pre-order form to hand and evidenced (inspector clouseau ) that I had in fact order it. The Steak was over done despite being asked how do we want it (medium rare) not that difficult so that person did not eat at all, other food was basic at best Shocking food. Customer Service - What customer service, there was only one guy who was concerned about our complaints and disappointment, probably because he wasn't watching the football which was the excuse we were given, THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE WE PAID ALMOST £400 for rubbish. Value for Money NO WAY. There needs to be a shake up here company with how it is managed/lead, and just because there is a big football match this does not mean your paying food customers should suffer because you have drink paying customers - Don't put food on if there is a big match. We will never come back even thought the nice guy did take of payment for steak and fish and chips - this is not the point. Something has to seriously changed here all comes from how they are lead. Sort it out, I will be emailing the company as well. A very unhappy ex-customer.

Great dog friendly pub. Food was really good (vegan options available).

It's a large, well-presented pub. Several real ales on cask, all from Thwaites brewery. The 'posh' pork scratchings were a huge disappointment, they were more like anaemic french fries.

The pub itself is very nice and the staff were helpful and polite. The breakfast menu is very poor and does not consider those that may have a dairy allergy or intolerance. There is a vegetarian option, but that includes cheese and egg. There was no alternative spread for toast other than butter. Also, which I thought was rather odd, ‘avocado’ with breakfast transpired to be extremely spicy guacamole, when I expected slices of avocado. It was delicious but a bit strange served with baked beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. Also, I specifically asked for no dairy and my breakfast came with a bowl of butter on the plate. I did not see the evening menu, but I would be inclined not to go there again for food if the breakfast menu is anything to go by. I eat plant-based through choice, however, not everyone has that choice. The menu needs to offer a wider selection IMHO. I attach a photo of what I was left with once dairy items removed.

Lovely country pub Food a bit pricey

I one medium (large ?!!!) glass of Pinot Grigio and a beer cost over £16. We've been customers there for years, but don't want to pay the price. Shame.

I’ve been here 3 times and it gets 3 stars. The food isn’t good for what you pay. Go there for a snack and a pint but you can do better than eating here.

I have just had an amazing meal with friends -I have not been for 2years but had heard good reports so thought it was about time I tried it again as it is very close to home ! Amazing service from the pre drinks right through to the end of an excellent meal . We all had different courses all of which were very well presented and were incredibly tasty . All the staff were charming and friendly -we will be going back regularly -Thankyou for a wonderful evening !

We were in the area and decided we would try this place. It was quite busy but we were shown to a table straight away. We ordered drinks and food, which we shared the 'bread selection' starter which was really good. For the main I had the fish and chips which was good. Overall the staff were friendly, food was good, the place seemed clean. Location is ok, decor is good. Nice place to visit.

Came here for Sunday lunch. The restaurant was ok, nice staff but there was something missing and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. The food was ok, and to be honest wasn’t hot enough for my liking. Tried the ox cheek and pork belly.Both dishes were nice.The ox cheek had a jus which I absolutely loved. Only complaint would be that the ox cheek was so fatty. Less than 50% of it was actually edible. They explained that that was the way it would be usually.I have had Ox cheek before and it has never been served like this.Usually all the excess fat is trimmed off. The pork cheek was cooked nicely, lacked a bit of flavour but lovely mash.Overall beautiful pub and nice atmosphere with friendly service. Top marks for the the bramble served!

The fish supplier has undoubtely changed from our last visit Tempura prawns were served on a skewer, batter undercooked and prawns rubbery Large fish and chips, fish little flavour and poor batter. Chips were excellent Atmosphere and staff excellent Susan

Had a good experience dining in the restaurant, nice ambiance and lovely warm decor indoor. We didnt book a table on Saturday but luckily had a table for 4 of us at the booth. We ordered selection breads to share for starters. Main course we had chilli prawns pesto linguine, fish and chips and chicken madras wrap and chips. Beers and ales. The roasted garlic in the breads selection was absolutely delicious and appreciated the details. Linguine was lovely and lovely crunchy fresh prawns. Grilled madras chicken was a bit dried due to being cut thinly and roti bread is homemade. Fish was fresh and flaky. All in all, brilliant experience and kudos to all pretty waiter and waitresses. Thanks. We will be back.

Lovely little pub in rural location. The gammon terrine and the pork belly were pretty average but the Tempura King Prawns and the Ox cheek were amazing. Would like to see more going on that just sat on a bed of mashed potato if I am honest, but I did it enjoy it despite this. Overall really enjoyed a rare night out for my partner and I

I Live walking distance to pub and used it for 40 odd years. Decided to have my birthday meal on Friday 2nd February, the 3 of us had fish and chips, first bite I had to spit out as the taste was horrible, wife commented that the fish was off and spelt highly of ammonia. Meals were replaced but I was really put off and only ate half. Shame as pub is always clean and ales always in tip top condition.

I visited this place a couple days ago now and what can I say... from the moment I walked in I was very welcomed by the staff behind the bar. I didn't book and they were very accommodating and found me a seat by the lovely wood fire it was such a lovely warm Atmosphere. I have never been to this place before so I didn't know what to expect... I asked for a recommendations on something quick to eat as I was stopping by. The lady who served me recommended the chicken burger so I went with that option and let's just say it was the best chicken burger I have ever had. Fresh chicken breast cooked to order and was out in around 10 to 15 minutes. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone... iv also booked a family meal coming up soon. I can't wait 👌

4 of us went for Sunday lunch, I was the only one that ordered the roast beef. I was a bit surprised when it turned up with what seemed like very thin sliced roast beef that you buy in a supermarket. mind you they did fold and roll the slices and cover it in thick gravy to make it look like it was carved from a beef joint. The slices were quite tough to chew considering how thin they were. The other 3 meals looked and tasted fab. Shame they let them selves down considering they charge premium prices

A lovely country Pub, not far out from Solihull. Good parking, lots of seating in and outside. Friendly helpful staff. We stopped by for lunch while out on our bikes. Lovely sunny sheltered spot down the side of the Pub. The staff served us promptly, bringing drinks and food out to us. Would come again, the lunch menu was great. Great location for a break on a bike ride. Have been back on several occasions for family dinner out and lunches, each time the food has been good and the service great.

Nice meal in lovely location. Service was quite rushed as well as a few errors on both our food and drink orders. Bill took some negotiations to ensure that it was correct. The IT requires improving so that card payments can be made at the dining table.

We had a family Sunday lunch for my husband's birthday and we weren't disappointed. The food was wonderful - totally a cut above any other Sunday lunch that we've gone out for. So flavoursome, and just that little bit different and the food was hot too - sometimes at other places, this is not the case. The staff were fantastic, and our member of staff was great - very helpful and friendly - we couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely be back!

Went for pre booked late lunch today. Very busy but service and food was excellent, bar staff and waitress were very friendly and helpful. Food was plentiful and a doggy box was provided to save waste! The birthday cake we supplied was brought to the table with lit candle and we all sang ‘Happy Birthday ‘ to my wife who was celebrating a special birthday. Special thanks to Kathy who did a fabulous job. We all really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back.

As usual, the staff and service were amazing. The venue had a great atmosphere The problem is the food. Apparently a new menu and they're trying to be original - I love the concept, but the execution isn't great. The mushroom pate is just wet slop. It is a pile of poorly seasoned pate, no bread, with a raw carrot and raw onion + prawn cracker. It got sent back and removed from the bill. The waitress even commented that she didn't like it either! The butternut squash risotto lacked any type of flavour and again, lacked seasoning - the rice was cooked nicely and had obviously been fried before boiling as was perfectly cruncy. The burger was "ok" but the meat was grizzly and in places quite unpleasant to chew. Came away utterly disappointed and won't be returning which is such a shame, as we had a great experience the time before

Friendly welcome and told to select our table. Server welcomed us with menus and we ordered drinks. Selected our food and were delighted with the attractive offering presented. Very tasty and enjoyed by all We chose the mini dessert with coffee to end a very enjoyable meal Would certainly recommend this country pub/restaurant

Staff were very very helpful helpful and friendly. It came out in conversation that my son had just passed his driving test. They very kindly, at the end of our meal, brought out a plate with congratulations written in chocolate and a small ring donut.

Fantastic food, and the service was superb & Kath the waitress was the perfect host & thankyou for making us so welcome.

Incredibly disappointing evening spent here. Service poor; 3 times had to ask for a slice of lime for my drink - it never materialised. Despite the restaurant being quiet (for food anyway), it took a long time for the Starters to arrive and then an equally long time for the main courses. 3 of our party were extremely disappointed with the food - my starter was tasteless, and 2 of the main courses were luke warm. The waitress did take the price of our drinks off the bill which was some consolation. I have eaten at the Bull's Head before and enjoyed the experience. However, my party left saying that we would not be visiting again - certainly not in the near future.
