The best restaurants serving British food in North Warwickshire West Midlands

We were a family of seven and tried calling ahead to book, knowing the weather would be nice and it would likely be busy. Unfortunately, no one answered the phone, so we booked online, leaving both our contact email and phone number along with a message explaining we’d be bringing our dog and would need a dog-friendly table. We never received a response. When we arrived, we were told dogs aren’t allowed inside the restaurant. Instead, we were offered a table in the bar area, but since the weather was nice, we opted to sit outside in the garden. As expected, it was very busy due to the sunshine. We placed our food order at the bar and were told there would be a one-hour wait. That was understandable under the circumstances, so we were happy to wait. However, after an hour, the food still hadn’t arrived. We followed up and were told it would be another 15 minutes — but it ended up being another 30 before anything came. When the food finally arrived, it was missing cutlery, which we had to go inside and get ourselves. This wasn’t mentioned at the time of ordering, and it would have been helpful to know. We ordered three roast dinners, a steak, a chilli, and a kids' meal. Unfortunately, everything was lukewarm at best and cooled down quickly. Portion sizes were small, with just one small dish of vegetables shared between three roast dinners. The steak, priced at £27.50, was especially underwhelming and not worth the cost. We understand places get busy when the weather is good — that's exactly why we tried to book ahead. Sadly, this visit felt disorganised, overpriced, and poorly managed. The food did not live up to expectations, and some staff members were not particularly friendly. Overall, a really disappointing first experience. We won’t be returning, and we wouldn’t recommend it.

£35 for a buffet you expect quality instead, cold and awful. No veg, had to wait 20mins and still nothing. Poor waiters were clearly understaffed and ran off their feet. Chef was clearly angry when I handed my food back saying it was cold and over cooked Not what I expected

Visited this establishment for the first time Easter Sunday following good reviews from friends. Upon trying to order food I was met with the most rude attitude from the bar staff who started off with “ You ordering much “ throughout the ordering process he never turned around from the till and after ever meal I asked for he quickly replied yes anything else !! Felt like he was attempting the world record for how quickly he could take an order!! Very unfriendly place and I would never recommend!!!

Absolutely brilliant. We had a large family get together and they even sectioned off an area for us. The service was brilliant from the moment we sat down. Food was incredible, hot and all came out together (for saying we were a very large table). Would recommend 😌

My sister had booked an afternoon tea for the three of us as it was our anniversary. We were so looking forward to it as we had been here sometime before and it was lovely. But times have changed. We were seated in quite a soul less room which had a large and distracting, television. The staff I h!ave to say were very good and attentive. The afternoon tea when it came was disappointing, there was no wow factor and looked very meagre. Because I am a veggie I had my own cake stand and one less sandwich than my carnivore companions. The shot glass with a cream concoction was lovely but the spoon given is too big to go into the glass. The cakes tasted very nice but there was nothing special about them, a thin slice of madeira, a thin slice of brownie and a minute offering of flap jack. The shortbread biscuit was nice though. The scones resembled biscuits and were quite hard. Clotted cream was nice though. All in all not an unpleasant afternoon but not nice enough to tempt me back again.

Visitamos esta noche con mi novia. Tuve una lasaña increíble, mi novia tenía un pastel de pollo la comida era de primera clase y bien vale la pena el precio que pagamos. Las raciones son geniales y sin duda adecuado para aquellos con un buen apetito. El servicio fue excelente, sin duda se lo recomendaría a cualquiera. En general, una noche fantástica, con ganas de regresar pronto ...

We stayed at the marriot as a party of 6 and booked into the restaurant for our evening meal.Firstly let me just say that this review is not a critique of the few staff who struggled to make the evening work but of the restaurant management who left the restaurant so terribly understaffed. Upon arrival we where shown to our table in the centre of an incredibly brightly lit room..no table cloth..no place mats ..just cutlery ..then the harried waitress said that due to lack of staff it would be quicker if we ordered our own drinks from the bar and carried them through to the restaurant. The restaurant was chaotic and it felt at times like it could all erupt in chaos at any moment ( I can only imagine the madness of what was going on behind the scenes).The food arrived ..my £20 burger and fries was on a par with a wethetspoons effort..my sons £20 veggie burger was just slices of uncooked haloumi in a bun and my wife's fish was merely tepid..didn't have the heart to mention this to the waitress as it looked like that kind of comment would have resulted in aprons being thrown to the floor and staff going home....I felt sorry for a couple who looked like they where trying to have a romantic meal in a room that looked like it was offering emergency relief to the needy. We ate in the restaurant the next morning and that was a different story ..a lovely start to the day which was much needed after the overpriced wetherspoons the night before...

Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Good quality ingredients well cooked, to order - both cleared our plates. Delicious coffee.

Lovely looking pub .. called in for a few drinks with friends we were made very welcome. Locals are very friendly and landladies happy and inviting . Most definitely going again Well done

Rude, unattentive staff. The food you want is usually off the menu and when you do get the food it's obvious it's been in a microwave. Dogs at every table barking and whining creating a very unpleasant atmosphere. When I complained to the manager via email I was given a copy and paste response and brushed off. Very expensive and I would avoid.

A wonderful find. We had a friendly greeting and were seated straight away even though we didn’t have a reservation. The decor is very nice and interesting. The menu is vast and also Indian served although it started from 2pm on a Saturday so we missed out on. We opted for the gammon and chicken sizzler. Both were cooked very well and tasted amazing. They are large portions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Only small thing the toilets were looking a little tired and could do with a refresh. Will definitely visit again.

Massive improvements since being under new management. Will definitely be coming again! Can't wait to try the new menu.
