We stayed at the marriot as a party of 6 and booked into the restaurant for our evening meal.Firstly let me just say that this review is not a critique of the few staff who struggled to make the evening work but of the restaurant management who left the restaurant so terribly understaffed. Upon arrival we where shown to our table in the centre of an incredibly brightly lit room..no table cloth..no place mats ..just cutlery ..then the harried waitress said that due to lack of staff it would be quicker if we ordered our own drinks from the bar and carried them through to the restaurant. The restaurant was chaotic and it felt at times like it could all erupt in chaos at any moment ( I can only imagine the madness of what was going on behind the scenes).The food arrived ..my £20 burger and fries was on a par with a wethetspoons effort..my sons £20 veggie burger was just slices of uncooked haloumi in a bun and my wife's fish was merely tepid..didn't have the heart to mention this to the waitress as it looked like that kind of comment would have resulted in aprons being thrown to the floor and staff going home....I felt sorry for a couple who looked like they where trying to have a romantic meal in a room that looked like it was offering emergency relief to the needy. We ate in the restaurant the next morning and that was a different story ..a lovely start to the day which was much needed after the overpriced wetherspoons the night before...

Fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere. The team are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend. Aslam was particularly fantastic.

Nice staff , esply Sijo,service cozy ambiance wow great service place and view . Of course food We plan to go again this Christmas

We went here for Mother’s Day. Was a little apprehensive as they did appear a little disorganised on booking. I shouldn’t have worried. We enjoyed a fabulous buffet for all courses; the carvery was perfect. Every item of the buffet was prepared with skill and care. They need to advertise this on socials. We paid £29.50 and all of us were extremely happy with our meal. They used to do this frequently here many years ago. If they did this again, advertised and marketed properly, this restaurant would be packed out regularly. The service was excellent and the gift bags for the mothers was a lovely little touch-and not cheap. To the management-you have a really good thing here. Thank you for a great afternoon.

Following a large family booking to the cast iron, we were initially met with somewhat nervous and lost bar tender. The manager Vickie came to the rescue and took over our drinks orders and ensured that we got what we wanted before we knew we needed it! We are at the restaurant, on Sunday, a day traditionally for a carvery, however with a mostly vegetarian group, it was somewhat out of the ordinary. Once again, we were made to feel as this wasn't a problem, and beyond a hiccup or two (expected for a massive order), the food, service and passion was impeccable. Vickie looked after us throughout and ensured we had everything we needed. Following this, we'll be back for another stay, drinks and meal - that's another 5 rooms Mariott can expect thanks to Vickie.

Unfortunate lack of choice and lack of attentive staff. Staff are friendly and the food is average ‘pub’ food. Not a great variety on the menu.

Lovely staff, great food, hot tasty and delicious. Food came within a reasonable amount of time and looked and tasty great! I would definitely come back again.

Very slow service. The staff almost avoided you when you tried to get their attention. Had the set menu. The food was fine bar the cheese board which obviously had been left out to dry. Very disappointing.

Dinner was amazing. Staff friendly. Service was slightly fast. We hadn’t finished our starters and the mains were out. Over all a lovely meal. Breakfast however was horrendous! Service was abysmal and the food was even worse. Waited over an hour for our hot drinks even though we asked about 4 times! We couldn’t believe it was the same restaurant as the night before!

When my chicken and avocado sandwich arrived the bread was stale, so I sent it back. The next sandwich they brought was obviously from the same loaf but I was so hungry I ate the centre only. Waitress apologised but the fault was clearly in the kitchen where the chef was happy to use poor quality bread....twice. Definitely not Marriott standard even in these challenging times.

My wife and myself went there on Sat 12th Sept and we were served by Sijo T and he could not have done more to make us welcome and ensure that our food and drink was delivered swiftly to our table. The food was very well prepared and Sijo's welcoming manner and service were more like we would expect in a Michelin Star restaurant. Very enjoyable evening.

We stayed at the Marriott for a quiet evening after a long flight. The grill with big windows overlooking the golf course was a perfect cozy spot. We started out with the dessert cheese plate which was wonderful including an applewood smoked cheddar. The scallop appetizer was perfectly cooked and served with a pesto. Hubby had brisket yorkshire pudding which was very tasty. But it was the service from Soji that made all worthwhile.

Went in for a quite meal following a disappointing meal at another venue. Staff where very courteous and helpful with a couple of questions answered quickly. This never fails to please rehearse restaurant is always run at the highest level.

Five for breakfast two under 6, everyone managed to get what they wanted, service was good although coffee not up to normal standard, very weak.

This restaurant is part of the Marriott hotel and I spend a fair amount of time here, the salads are good the ribs are nice but the best is there beef brisket in a Yorkshire pudding as a starter or a small main great value...
