Went to Weavers Cottage today with my family to have a late celebration for my birthday. I had a high tea which was lovely and my family had other various items off the menu. All the food was lovely and beautifully served. The gentleman who was serving was very helpful and efficient and it was service with a smile. We are local to Torquay but it was our first time visiting Weavers cottage but it won’t be our last. Lovely outdoor setting that is covered with heaters and we even had a visit from a little robin on the back of one of our chairs. Lovely little lunch stop.

A lovely tea room with great coffee and selection of food. The team were very welcoming and friendly. Some nice little gifts to buy are on sale too. Its nice to sit outside in the summer too and take in the beautiful scenery of this gorgeous little village. We will definitely go back.

Great place to watch the Red Arrows from. Lovely beach cafe only a few yards away.

Avoid the Seven Dials cafe because they are not inclusive of disabled people. Took another family member with us who is disabled and has to eat a special diet but they told us we couldn’t feed them anything other than their own food as it’s there policy. Makes it hard as it would be nice to take this family to normal cafe environments whilst we have a normal experience and get out the house. We ourselves were buying food in the cafe but because one person couldn’t eat their food they told us they couldn’t eat there. I wonder if they do the same with young or autistic children? Weavers cottage of the Old School House are the best places to go now.

Met at dinning room personally to explain food arrangement & seating. Wide variety from Fresh Fruit Salad, to Full breakfast. I enjoyed the fresh fruit & juice. The full breakfast was all cooked fresh & kept covered, not over cooked or dry, Decent bacon slices & sausages cooked just right. & fried eggs had soft yolks. Soft pastries & endless coffee, with quick cereral fix if required. Staff considerate of seating arrangements, fresh air, opening windows to keep heat down. The food is not my main attraction to The Grand - its location, spacious rooms, including bar & dinning area & views are.

Very disappointing although the sandwich I ordered was tasty. I arrived just gone 1pm for lunch. No-one around to greet me, bar staff totally oblivious to my presence. Found a table and sat there for over 10 minutes, still nobody appeared. Eventually, I went to the bar to order. My sandwich took about 20 minutes to arrive. It was not busy but service was slow. Asked for a glass of water which never arrived. Overall a disappointing experience for a supposed 4* hotel.

Booked this restaurant for a pre theatre dinner. I said this when I booked and again when I arrived. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and we had to hurry to eat it and had to leave some in order for us to get to the theatre. When it came the food was tasty but too long to wait.
