A lovely tea room with great coffee and selection of food. The team were very welcoming and friendly. Some nice little gifts to buy are on sale too. Its nice to sit outside in the summer too and take in the beautiful scenery of this gorgeous little village. We will definitely go back.

Visited for coffee and enjoyed a Millionaire Shortbread that came accompanied by a fresh strawberry. Outside brings views of Cockington itself and the service is great. Would visit again when next in the area.

Lovely little tea room and gift shop in charming location. Such a shame that when I visited, I was the only customer. Only had a coffee on this occasion, but have previously enjoyed great cake with good gluten free options

Looking at the rest of the reviews, this place clearly has more to offer. A lot of this bad review really comes down to just one, very poorly trained and disinterested member of staff. She was on her phone when i went to make my order, and had to have her attention grabbed by another member of staff. The menu did not correlate with what was written on the boards inside, tea for one should have included a pot of tea, a scone and jam and cream. We ended up with just a pot of tea, with a lip stick stain on the cup. In this instance, i believe she could of offered us the rest of the items and i would of happily of paid, but instead she stood there and said, with attitude, “you should of ordered the cream tea” when we pointed out the lipstick stain on the cup, she just came back with “oh” we obviously wanted it replaced but this did not click with her, we then asked where the sugar was, which she could of grabbed on the way back with the clean mug, but she only brought out the clean mug and told us sugar was inside. We felt very unwelcome after that. The one positive being that the pasty and salad was nice.

Arrived at 2.30 to be told the coffee machine was broken , no " hot food " left ! CORNISH cream in DEVON. £13.50 for two scones and a pot of tea. Didn't take cash. Overall not impressed.

Nice sunny day and the cafe across the road was closed and had been closed the day before. When we arrived we were told there would be a 15 minute wait, as a big order had just been taken. 30...minutes catch eye of waitress..45..try again .. food soon... 60 minutes later food arrives. At least two tables who ordered after us had been already served. One of our drinks orders missing, wrong jam for the cream tea. Two and a half cups of tea in pot to serve 3. Scones from packet - jam in jar. Total prep time for our order should have been a few minutes. When the food arrived it was only just adequate; of the standard you would get from self service at a motorway services. The staff were stressed and completely disorganised. Waitress bringing out food items individually that had been missed. Food coming out twice, for the same table. No-one seemed to be in actually in charge. I would have walked, my son says brings Fawlty Towers to mind. I was persuaded to stay as had already paid, but will not be a repeat customer.

We stopped here for lunch after a stroll through Cockington with our dog and what a treat! Afternoon tea was served with sandwiches, homemade cakes, rustic scones and a selection of teas. All of the staff were very attentive and our young waitress even gave the dog treats. It’s little things like this (and the amazing food) that will most certainly see us return. Thank you

Not very impressed. Lady taking orders not very engaging although busy. She did not hear the previous customers question as she seemed more intent on taking her card payment for her order. I commented to her that she was busy. For a Monday, and must be rushed off her feet at weekends. She replied that the cafe is the only one of three in the village open on a Monday. If that was the case she or the owner should be providing more staff for a Monday. We waited over 20 minutes for a cream tea and a cheese tea,. The quality of the scones were poor, presumably bought in. We waited in the garden outside, that could have do with a tidy up. The bins were full and it was 1pm. I had to go in and get napkins as none were provided with the food that was brought out. All in all a disappointment. If you know you are the only cafe open on a Monday in July, prepare for it. It is clearly a cash cow and in my opinion being treated as such.

Lovely tea room sat in the garden on a bit of a slope but there were some on the at the front that looked like they may have been on a bit flatter ground but they were all taken. The service and food were great sandwiches and side salad very fresh, will visit again.

Although I usually stop here for coffee every week, I treated my husband to a wonderful afternoon tea here today. Brilliant choice of sandwiches, cake and a lovely cream tea, all served on a beautiful tea stand. The scones were especially delicious. Would highly recommend. Would also recommend the coffee as the best in the village.

Enjoyed a lovely cream tea to refuel us after the walk through from Torquay. The staff were attentive and friendly and kind enough, when asked, to coach us on the etiquette of cream or jam first.

What a fantastic place this is. The owners, Michael and Angela are so welcoming and they serve the best coffee and scone. They have looked after us and our little girl (Chloe) each day of our holiday. Highly recommend the place.

The family arranged a birthday lunch for me. The new owners and staff were lovely, making the room and tables nice with white linen cloths, glitter and deccies. The food was outstanding as always, with the added bonus of attentive staff for our party. A great price, a great atmosphere, great food and very welcoming for all ages and abilities. Would recommend and definitely go again. Well done all.

Disappointed. Rude staff openely complaining about customers. Eye rolling muttering and swearing under their breath. Avoid on a busy saturday, however I wont go back - ever. The tall guy with a beard needs to change career. Waited over an hour for food 3 out of 7 of us were ill the next day

Booked for Saturday dinner. Got to the restaurant only to find it had been closed for months. They kept sending us reminders about our booking as well. Disgraceful.
