Avoid the Seven Dials cafe because they are not inclusive of disabled people. Took another family member with us who is disabled and has to eat a special diet but they told us we couldn’t feed them anything other than their own food as it’s there policy. Makes it hard as it would be nice to take this family to normal cafe environments whilst we have a normal experience and get out the house. We ourselves were buying food in the cafe but because one person couldn’t eat their food they told us they couldn’t eat there. I wonder if they do the same with young or autistic children? Weavers cottage of the Old School House are the best places to go now.

My wife and I were advised to visit this craft centre by our hotel host while away in Torquay, we had a great morning looking around the gardens before visiting the local craftsmen and women going about their business in the adjoining converted stable yard. There were glass blowers, blacksmiths and woodworkers all exhibiting their goods while also demonstrating how the items are actually produced. There is also the usual tea room / café providing a selection of local produce. We would recommend a visit when browsing for gifts to take home, as its a welcome change from the usual seaside fare.

The setting and grounds are superb and a regular favourite when in the area. However, the lunch at the Seven Dials Cafe was very disappointing. Expensive for what it was with a very limited menu and food served in takeaway wrappings, no crockery or cutlery. A sausage panini consisted of a sliced sausage and raw onions. Panini's used to be well presented on a plate with side salad. We were embarrassed to take our guests there. Sadly will not be eating there again.

Mom and myself visited Seven Dials Cafe this week for coffee and cake. The grounds are stunning, the building also grand and felt quite special. Coffee was lovely (I wished I ordered the large size!), we shared two cakes - both were delicious - and the young man who serve us couldn’t have been more helpful. We will be re visiting! Thank you very much.

Went to cockington village they have lovely shops there with handcrafted items and the people were so lovely. We particularly enjoyed the glass place, where you can watch them making glass items, so fascinating and they explain the various stages and process of the making. Loved it, also went to the mosaic store, the lady there makes beautiful items such as mirrors, wall hangings etc she was such a lovely friendly lady and her work was fabulous. Nice unitive items to purchase in the craft centre. Worth a visit.

Our Glass studio is worth a visit if you’re in the area. You can watch the men make the glass from A viewing window and ask questions They engaged our 2 and 5 year old family members well, listening to their questions and asking in a way they understood. The items for sale are all very well priced due to the craftsman’s shipped involved. I purchased a beautiful vase of sea holly flowers. 3x flowers, 2 leaves and the vase for £42! Brilliant value and a lovely memento from our holiday in Devon.. even if they were made in wales. They’re also on Facebook too and do mail order so it probably won’t be my last purchase..

I had been looking for a glass friendship ball for a present. I ordered one off the internet and was dissapointed when it arived. I took a trip to Cockington Craft Centre to the Glass shop and when I saw the quality of theres they were streets ahead of the internet purchase. I could tell the internet one was a factory made piece. But the Cockington one had depth of colour, sparkling glass which you could tell it was individually made and a nice weight to it .And it was £3 cheaper. The packaging left a bit to be desired so I bought a nice gift box and some tissue which made it look very special. I also looked up the history of these and wrote it out a card. It made the whole gift and the reason behind it very meaningful and looked twice the money. All of ther pieces in the shop are of a very high quality and really inexpensive for what they are. I give 4 stars instead of 5 is just because of the uninteresting packaging but that can be easily rectified for minimal fuss.

We regularly take my Mum, 104 years young, to Cockington and she always asks to go there. In our experience the staff have been welcoming and the food good. It can be busy at times and allowances have to be made for this. The food and coffee were served in disposable containers/cups during COVID which was acceptable under the circumstances. Hope that has now changed.

The refurbishment is excellent and the staff very pleasant, if a little disorganised. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the food. We ordered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The dish turned up without the salmon, that was remedied quickly when it was returned with a piece of salmon thrown on the top of the eggs. The main issue was the eggs had been microwaved: they were solid and horrible. The coffee was ok, if not brilliant. This has the potential to be a really great cafe, nice premises in a lovely location. The problem is that if they can't get something as basic as scrambled eggs right, there is little hope the rest of the menu would be any better.

Visited cafe in early April - closed undergoing renovation. Phoned in to check it was reopening was told Friday. Visited on 16 & 17 April and closed again for more work! Called in today 23 April at 2pm asked for menu and chatted aloud deciding whether to have a jacket spud to be told by staff that hot food finished at 2pm. We were under the impression that the long renovation period would result in great improvements how wrong we were. The actual tables in this part of the cafe were littered with dirty china, cutlery crisp bags, etc it looked like there had been a mad hatters tea party and in the corner was a couple having a. snack surrounded by uncleared tables. We asked for a sandwich and were told there were only prepacked paninis and sandwiches available so we had to opt for this. They were delivered to the table outside without any garnish or cutlery which we were told was in cafe. No offer was made to get us it for us. The hot panini and sandwich were extremely dry and I left half of roll but it was a shame as it was lovely Italian style bread. Whoever runs this cafe needs to organise and train the staff and improve the quality of food on offer and make it clear with signage when hot food is available instead of keep changing the goal posts (used to be 3pm) otherwise you are going to annoy customers which will affect the business. The actual craft centre seems lifeless as well, you never know which shops/units are going to be open or shut. Something needs to be actioned to breath life back into the whole site, as you have so much to offer.

We were at Cockington Country Park for a Sunday walk, we looked around the craft shops and spent a few hours walking and shopping, then wanted a cup of tea - there is only really the one place on site (as far as we could tell) and it was poorly understaffed. We waited over half an hour in the queue to be served with no information or menus offered or anything - there seemed to be only one person behind the til so we couldn't even leave the queue to go and ask. When we got to the til we then had to ask all our questions - by that time we were also really hungry - to be told that coffees and teas would take 15-20 minutes and food around half an hour. Having already waited so long and being so far from any alternatives we just found something acceptable and ordered. I had pumpkin soup which was bland, but hot and food. They didn't have any gluten free bread or gf scones for the cream teas (it's Devon, cream teas are a standard offering) - but for people who can eat gluten, the cheese tea looked like an appealing twist on tradition. The coffee we had was fine. The staff were nice, just overwhelmed. I'd probably recommend taking a picnic if you're visiting at a busy time.

We ended up at Cockington Court for coffee and scones after a lovely walk around the Lakes this morning - we will save the rest of the 460 acres of Cockington Country Park for another day! The staff were busy, but it wasn't long before our order for coffee and a cheese scone for myself and a plain scone with jam and cream for my husband arrived. The scones were just as they should be - we are scone aficionados - and they have gone straight to the top of our Scone Leader Board! The right size, the correct consistency (soft without falling apart), and my cheese scone didn't just have cheese sprinkled on the top before baking, it was cheesy all the way through, and my husband's plain scone was equally well-baked, with lovely jam and thick clotted cream. I can't comment on other meals but what we had suited us just fine.

Sadly not all the little shops were open, but the glassblowers were busy and had good wares on show. Good products made by the blacksmith were on sale but he was not working today.Lovely rose garden for a quiet sit down, followed by coffee and cake in the cafe. The staff were a bit busy with a wedding and were trying to clear it up so service was a bit slow. I was fobbed off with a burnt end piece of fruit loaf, but when I complained it was gladly swapped for something that was acceptable and very tasty. The staff member was polite and apologetic and at pains to put things right. We also visited the very old church close by. There are several car parks in the village, and one in the centre itself.. Unable to review fully, as unable to even get into the place! Leaflet said disabled access so took my elderly mum in manual wheelchair. Sign said disabled access through side where the builders were working. Encountered many areas of thick deep gravel which despite 3 helpers, we could NOT get her chair through. Got a few yards in (with huge effort), only to find that the next so called disabled access pathway had massive deep ruts all along it, totally impassable and dangerous. My poor mum was distressed as she hates being a burden and felt she was spoiling our trip but of course not her fault at all. Should not claim disabled access if not true. Very upset, and staff in shop were looking but no help offered.

Wonderful place to visit. Stunning grounds with Beautiful thatched cottages Watch the old crafts of glass blowing and Blacksmithery practiced by masters. Cockington Court Tea Rooms offers a range of refreshments with the Devonshire Scone Cream Tea topping the bill. Mangy gifts available including textiles, chocolates, art, ceramics etc This would also be a perfect wedding setting as there is a church and Registry Office in situ. .

If you visit this area Cockington Country Park is a must. It's a step back in time with its chocolate box cottages, horse drawn carriages and selection of arts and crafts.

Quaint village, some building work going on so a few bits not open. There were lots of places to walk dogs, not as many shops and craft shops to walk around as I expected. I understand they have little market style stores sometimes and then I would think it is a lot more enjoyable. As we weren't there to walk the dog or stop for a bite to eat, there wasn't a huge amount to do.Also think the signage was a bit poor, it's hard to know where to go and what to do.

The Craft Courts are situated behind the Manor House and are well signposted. There is a fair a amount to see from the Blacksmith at work, to the glassblower, upholsterer, mtoy maker, chocolatier and many others. All were doing demonstrations as well as selling reasonably priced indivudual gifts. Must be lovely at Christmas.

We spent a lovely few hours here. There are lots of craft shops with active demonstrations and goods that were very reasonably priced. We topped it off with cream teas in the cafe, which were lovely. All cakes are homemade and delicious. I highly recommend.

I would only go here if you are a dog lover ! The dogs outnumbered the humans on our visit. There are two rooms so we sat in the one without the dogs, unfortunately due to one not terribly well behaved dog a very loud dogfight ensued, so most of the dog owners moved to our room !

Lovely little place! Especially at Christmas! People in there are lovely! Lots of specialised items you wouldn't get anywhere else! The glass blowing is really worth watching! Very clever! You won't want to leave without buying something!

If you are hgoing to Cockington village you must go to the craft centre. Full of quirky one off shops and talented artists. One of very few free things to do in Torquay. Glass blowing particularly good,

The worse fish and chips I have ever had, heard so much about this place from TV Fish Town..... The fish didnt smell fresh at all, all brown and looked crap. The Batter was terrible, soft and mushy and the chips under cooked and all we had seemed to be the ends. id give it a zero

Came here for lunch today, very welcomming bar lady and the food we ordered arrived fresh and hot. Its a basic menu but so cheap, we almost thought we were looking at a childs menu. If you fancy something non fancy head here. The pub itself is in need of some tlc but put that to one side and you have a friendly local, selling good cheap food with stunning views. And its dog friendly.
