Another amazing tea from Greenies. Best fish we’ve ever had, lightest batter and absolutely huge. The tea-time special deal is such good value, one stuffed family and even a chip butty left over for lunch tomorrow. Picky eater 7 year even declared he wants to eat the same on Christmas Day!

Perfect tea again. Always look forward to visiting when in the area. Shaz n Dave always a pleasure to see and catch up with.

Excellence on every front. I visited Greenies fish and chips shop for the first time last night. I was immediately struck by the thoughtfulness of the owners, a one way system to fight Covid, umbrellas, space heaters a rain cover and a PA system for ordering, all designed for a quick excellent customer service experience. On entry, a warm caring welcome combined with customer service that I am not used to living in Portsmouth, they were warm and professional. The food was excellent! Generous portions of very fresh cod, cooked in a delicious batter and the chips were home cut and fresh also. I look forwards to visiting again, this place is firmly on my list of top takeaways and number one for customer satisfaction.

Wish I could have commented on the food however I can comment on the customer service. I approached the door to this place this evening fully aware of Covid restriction. I stopped outside the entrance for roughly 20 seconds waiting to catch the attention of the staff in order to ask the ordering process, only to be shouted at and told to get away by a very angry man, who by looking at the pictures on the website I assume is the owner . Unless you already know the process of ordering at this premises approach with caution.

Been nearly 12 months since the our last visit and extremely pleased to say the food was just as good as I remember. Looked forward to my tea and it didn't disappoint!! Cod n chips absolutely delicious as always. Covid 19 precautions spot on. See you soon,got to make the most of our visits throughout our holiday.

Good fish and chips friendly staff

We only live a few roads away but very rarely great ourselves to fish and chips. Little treat the other night on a very busy night of school parents evenings. Chips were plentiful and perfect not at all greasy. Service was friendly and with a smile. I'd originally only gone in to buy for the children who all had sausage and chips but hubby went back later and for dragon pie and a burger with chips for us to share. Burger was lovely with lots of very fresh salad, hands down beating anything from a well known fast food chain!!! Pie was lovely with lots of filling and super lovely pastry and chips As i said perfect. Certainly our first choice for chips in future.

Great food they even did a lovely fish without any batter. Service was 1st class.

We moved to the area last year and tried this amazing chip shop after a recommendation by a friend. I have never had better cooked fish, now our local chippy.

Fabulous chippie. The finest quality food cooked fresh to order by the most friendly helpful couple. Regular visitors to the area and will definitely be using this chippie from now on

This is my local chippy, this couple goes the extra mile to make it a very positive experience. They have even started to do new pies which are actually full to the brim not all pastry and no fillings like others very near by. My daughter loves thier burger from here but without, as she puts it "all the junk" on; let me clarify "junk" lettuce, tomatoes and onions.

I'm not usually a pie guy but these new pies are phenomenal. Lovely pair who own this shop. Glad they are open again.

Lovely friendly couple, lovely food cooked freshly and well priced.

I ordered for the first time at about 8pm on Friday 30th November on recommendation from a friend. I spoke to the loveliest lady who took my order for my husband to pick the food up at 8.30. It was ready on time, and hot when he got home. I had cod and chips, and I can honestly say it was the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. Absolutely fantastic, we will be ordering again.

Since the refurbishment of this place and no fault of there’s. The food is fantastic and the owners are more relaxed and laid back. Thank you guys great food.

This is a truly great place for fish and chips in a seaside town where a great fish and chip meal can be found most places..... but have to say lovely Sharon always is so sweet and welcoming and Dave also is a dab hand at cooking. You can ask to have it done your way and it will be done if possible. By far and away the best spam fritters, by the way. And mushy peas, both the best I’ve ever had. Food is nicely boxed and delicious fish is served with generous lemon wedges.... splendid!!! WELL recommended.

It was all quite good, and quite enjoyable. The Chips were excellent, the Cod was tasty but the Batter was just a bit bland. I am perhaps being a little bit picky. The service is both friendly and welcoming, and it was all good value for money.

I have now visited this chip shop several times since moving to Chelston. I have to say that on each and every occasion I have been met by the friendly husband & wife team who will always do their best to accommodate the orders, even if specific items are not listed on the menu. The service is excellent, and I must also add that the recent introduction of the boxed packaging is fantastic as the fish and chips in my opinion keep must crispier as the steam can escape.Well done to you all at Greenies, see you soon.

Just had a fish and chip supper. Don't do this very often but Greenie's always gets it right. Lovely fish, freshly cooked and generous portions. Really enjoyed it. Good value for money too.

Así que tuvimos suerte de tener Greenies cercanas (pero creo que si vivimos más lejos sin viajar atrás sólo para nuestro viernes takeouts! ). Siempre una especie de bienvenida de Sharon y Dave, dos gente genuina que trabajo duro y son fáciles de tratar.

Pescado greenies es increíble. Extremadamente bien preparado por alguien que conoce bien su trabajo. El bacalao se deshace en la boca y en el bateador está a la derecha. Tengo que decir que este es, de lejos, el mejor de bacalao y patatas fritas perveyor en la zona. Sigan con el buen trabajo. Pd: El pequeño unbattered salchicha es ideal para perros. Eso me han dicho!

As an American anonchan, I cannot recommend this place enough. When I visit the UK next, I will eat here at least twice. And no, that isn't virtue signaling. I really will eat here when I visit. I promise.

great fishies with the chippies

Friendly people, lovely food and fast service but thats when you can find them open, Me and the wife have walked round there a number of times now to find them closed when there suppose to be open but it seems this place just opens as and when they feel like it and not at the times it says in the window so for this reason we have now started going to another chippy so i dont waste my time.

Food is always delicious, freshly cooked, piping hot and served with a smile! Love it! You rarely have to wait too long, but always worth waiting for. I never have had to wait more than 10 mins at peak time! Best Fish and Chips!

Really friendly staff, they didn't mind me bringing my dog in to the counter which was lovely as it made my life a lot easier. Really liked my food as well, portions aren't huge which is kind of nice as I would have eaten it all anyway! freshly cooked and not greasy. fab!

We spotted this fish and chip shop from my dad's new flat and wow are we glad we did. The owners are the most welcoming friendly people I have ever come across in a take away. The food is freshly cooked but it is well worth the wait.A huge Thankyou to Sharon and Dave and we will be back again very soon.So nice to have crispy batter on my fish instead of soggy mush.......Well done !

Several points I have noted on the few times I have been here1. Food is freshly cooked to order and in my case a very complicated order is always handled to precision2. Yes on occasion you may have to que i.e Peak time Saturday evening..i would never mind this as it is never more than a few minutes and it shows that the shop is popular, no brainer really popular shop caused by people returning because of good food and service.3. Excellent service, always really friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble4. Very clean which installs me with confidence. Will I go back...YES as often as I canWould I recommend to others 100% YES

There are many in the area who claim to be the best, but few are able to maintain a consistent quality or customer service.Greenies is run by husband & wife team Dave & Sharron Green. They have been running the business for 10 years and keep it really simple, no other staff so you will always get the same service and everything is cooked fresh to order while you wait. The portions are generous and not at all greasy. If you like your fish & chips cooked how you want them I highly recommended searching out this establishment in Chelston, Torquay.
