Booked this restaurant for a pre theatre dinner. I said this when I booked and again when I arrived. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and we had to hurry to eat it and had to leave some in order for us to get to the theatre. When it came the food was tasty but too long to wait.

Excellent Sunday lunch, served hot, which is not always the case in some restaurants, could not fault it, fabulous view as well, well done.

Had a lovely afternoon tea today at the Bay Cafe. Amazing service and a lovely Christmas atmosphere. The food tasted very good and there was a good range of sandwiches and cakes. Will definitely be coming back :)

We just wanted a light snack for lunch. Freshly made sandwiches and toasties available. Service was pleasant. The cafe is in part of the Torbay hotel so the lounge was nice and spacious. Clean and tidy.

This is part of the Torbay Hotel with direct access from the street. We had a light lunch of toasted sandwiches and coffee and it was OK. We were the only customers at the time, so the service was good. There is a reasonable choice on the menu.

Terrible service. 20 min wait between first and fourth meal served... and not what was ordered. Looks great but wouldn't return. Toilets down an unlit passage. Seems like the owner has lost interest.

Battered fish and chips, an oven cooked breaded fish from a supermarket. Over priced and poor quality. Saving grace was the eastern European waiter who was lovely. He made the children's experience a lot better. Won't return

We went into here at 12:30 on a weekday for a light lunch. Totally deserted in side and out with no sign of any staff or customers. Felt very unwelcoming with a blunt notice stating the cafe customers were not allowed into the Hotel. After waiting around for some time still no sign of any staff so we left. Plenty of other places to eat along the front and more welcoming.

My wife and I went to have lunch. I had a tuna jacket which was okay, but my wife had scampi and chips and the scampi was overcooked. The staff made some more, but they were watery inside and she was put puff by then. The staff were apologetic, but we wouldn't go back + they asked if I'd like to pay before I had finished, which made me feel a bit harassed. We decided not to pay for the scampi and chips and they didn't quibble. Nice interior, but did needs to be better.

We were wandering around Torquay and decided it was time for a drink and this place was the first we saw. On arrival it felt a bit clinical - very white and green - almost like being in a coop store! The service was fine although we ordered a couple of beers and instead of pulling them from the pump on the bar the guy went into the back and came back with them - odd but the drinks were fine. The toilets were in the back of the hotel down a very dark passageway without much lighting which would be a bit of a challenge if your eyes weren't great. Overall it was a bit underwhelming but it is basically just a cafe at the front of the hotel and that said, the prices weren't too bad.

Food okay but over priced and just okay. Hot drink wasn’t great. Staff are one extreme to another, either great or rude. Doesn’t accept cash!

Some of the worst interior decoration I have ever seen, a beautiful house full of cheap plastic rubbish, totally lacking in any kind of atmosphere or style, a truly nasty experience. This should be a wonderful place, but it's not.
