The best restaurants serving British food in Dartmouth and Kingswear South Hams South West

This is a charming little cafe, tucked away behind the Old Market, well worth tracking down. Seats around ten inside and another handful outside, overlooking the little square. Excellent coffee, great bruschetta on sourdough, local cakes and toasted sandwiches. We tried the Gruyere, ham and Dijon mustard toastie, which was excellent. Fresh croissants and home-made cakes, too. Friendly, personal service.

We arrived in Dartmouth for a weeks holiday and after reading the reviews thought Bushell’s Upper Deck sounded great so we walked down to give it a go. It’s a pop up restaurant and it was its last night of the summer. They welcomed us, explained as it was their last night there was a limited menu. We had a super meal, starters of squid and garlic flatbread, followed by seafood risotto and American pizza, finished off with tiramisu and ice cream. Fabulous food, great service, very friendly and welcoming and fabulous views. We certainly struck lucky! Thank you!

We all had the 3 course dinner. The reception and the service throughout were excellent. All rated the whole evening a great success. All were able to make their own choices. We look forward to returning on another occasion.

Food was lovely, had steak and was cooked well and the garlic butter was lovely, service maybe a little slow but it was fairly busy.

Best place to drink in Dartmouth. Especially loved the Dartmouth Jail Ale.

We shared the seafood grazer with some buttered new potatoes, it was fantastic and also brilliant value for money. Our waitress was so friendly and took the time to chat to us. It really was the highlight of our visit to Dartmouth, we will be back!

Small cafe in the heart of Dartmouth. The service was friendly, yet professional, the coffee was very good and the home made Christmas scones delicious. A rare find in the historic centre of the town. The prices were fair, the ambiance excellent.

Amazing coffee delicious pastries as ever ! You can always rely on a Cornish Bakery ! We search them out every time we vist.

We were in Dartmouth for a couple of days and in search of one veggie and one vegan breakfast at reasonable prices - seems a tall order for most places who want to ply you with something fancy for a high cost. Not at Dudley's. A full English breakfast for both of us, vegetarian for my partner and vegan for me. Freshly cooked, delicious and service with a smile. We will definitely return if we find ourselves in Dartmouth again.

My daughter is autistic, and quite particular about what she eats. I called ahead and asked if the kitchen could do her a plain cheeseburger, as the traditional Sunday roast wouldn't suit. They said of course. Didn't expect "The Lexi Burger" to be added to the menu. She was so happy when she saw her name, and she didn't feel bad for ordering off menu. Such an amazing, personal touch. The fact that the following meals were superb (roast dinners and Lexi burger) and the service was friendly and professional means we will definitely be going back. Exceptional.

Absolutely stunning fish & chips. Family of 5 fed for just over £40, bonus the kiddos ate everything (which says positive things about how good the food is). Top marks, thanks guys.

We have visited this cafe located at the mouth of the beautiful River Dart many times. It has always served up great drinks and food but after my last visit I felt compelled to write a review. Following a swim in the cove below we had the best ever bacon roll I have ever eaten. Tasty sweet bacon in a delicious warm crusty batch served up with a smile. Truly delicious!
