The best restaurants serving British food in Wareham Purbeck South West

Wow. What an amazing breakfast, supremely tasty and phenomenal value for money. The staff were friendly and slickly efficient. We felt welcomed from crossing the threshold to settling the bill. Thank you to all the team. If you are in Wareham a visit to the garden gate will enhance your day. Not to be missed.

One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. All food was lovely and generous portions, the starters (cheese souffle and salt and pepper squid) were exceptional, and the tiramisu was the best I have ever had!! Friendly, efficient service and lovely relaxed setting with fab decor. Already looking at when we can come again! Thank you so much.

We visited for my husband’s birthday on a Friday lunchtime, it is a lovely cosy pub with a nice atmosphere right on the quayside all of the staff were very welcoming and helpful. There is JustPark parking outside which was £2 for 2 hours. We used a Groupon voucher which is exceptional value for money and the food quality was not lowered in any way. We bought the 2 course sirloin steak meal with wine for 2 Groupon offer which had an extra discount on it to come out at just £37.49 in total for the 2 of us. You are actually allowed to choose ANYTHING from the menu not just what is on the voucher itself. When you consider that a single sirloin steak meal on its own is £31 on their menu you can see how it is incredible value and well worth the trip to visit. We had a lovely steak meal, flavoursome and perfectly cooked, we swapped out our wine for a cider and a soft drink, then choose Dorset apple cake which was delicious. We regularly visit The Salt Pig in Wareham as it's simply the best in town. Perfect for Breakfast, Lunch or just coffee and cake. All the food is locally sourced which is very important to us. All the staff are really friendly and extremely hard working. The food is always delicious and fresh and what about the Sunday Roasts...Woweee!! Just theeeee best. I can probably say it's the best eat out roast I've had, hand down!! We love it here. Ps we buy all our locally sourced meat from the in house butcher as well. Superb!!!

I was part of a very large pre booked running group- we were all very hungry upon arrival! We were catered for superbly with a number of delicious breakfasts, coffees and drinks brought to us promptly. The food looked and tasted lovely; the atmosphere perfect for a Christmas social and then there were the cakes! Wow! Despite feeling full, a number of us bought the delicious cake on offer which was kindly packaged up in a take-away box for later by the staff- a wonderful morning had by all.

I was at a veterans breakfast meeting, great food and a good time had by all that attended.

Just had the best Coffee/Vanilla Milkshake. Custom made and definitely hit the spot. Service friendly, helpful and efficient. Thanks

Brilliant every time, great sunday roasts and top notch staff!

I came in here by accident while walking in the area. As I'd been going quite a way, I wanted to warm up and treat myself. Although staff told me that one room was heated and suggested I sit there, I still had to keep my coat on as they kept leaving the door to the front open, and it was cold! The cooked breakfast was so-so overall but not evenly cooked. The advertised fried bread was 2 large slabs of bread fried on one side, and the other side was greasy but not crispy. So it was neither bread nor toast and certainly not fried bread and was just unpleasant. The pot of tea had one tired teabag, barely flavouring the water (despite extensive steeping). I would have called attention to it , but nobody checked in, and my original server didn't show up again at all. I just left what I couldn't eat and paid at the till.

This is a lovely friendly restaurant with great food & great service. Our waitress was Daisy - she was friendly, professional and demonstrated the best in customer service. As an example we sat near open windows and requested from the woman who seemed to be in charge of the team to close them as it was draughty - she said it got very hot in there. When I explained not for me sitting beneath them she said 'I can close one (of four!) and did. When Daisy arrived she saw windows were open - thought about customers first and without asking just closed them. What a difference one person can make. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and Daisy! Our third visit to the Angelbury. Very good food, very reasonable prices and very friendly service. Interesting history to the building with connections to T E Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
