The Quay Inn in Purbeck

We went to the Quay Inn with our two children and another family of 4 on a Friday evening. The food and atmosphere suited us perfectly and the staff were great! They were really friendly and accommodating (we were delayed by traffic getting there). Thanks so much!

We stayed three nights in this lovely part of the world. Ideal spot for travelling round. The pub has three rooms adjacent to their building. Room is very well equipped and spotless. Not a very big room or shower. But totally well thought out. Reccomend the Steak night at the pub. Excellent value. You need to book ahead. Breakfasts were very well served using all local produce. Staff make this pub. Friendly and efficient. Served straight away nothing too much trouble. We visited Weymouth, Swanage and Dorchester area. But the pub is right opposite the river. So no need to go far if you want to relax. Plenty of amenities in the town which is two minute walk.

The BEST beef short rib I have ever eaten (and believe me I’ve eaten plenty) good beer,great service and very pleasant friendly staff

Stayed 2 nights at The Quay Inn Excellent service very good food with Excellent breakfasts a very enjoyable experience and a very good location for our purpose for choosing The Quay side Inn to stay. Ideal location set in the centre of Wareham easy access.

We had bed and breakfast here. So lush. Really friendly and helpful staff. Our room was cosy and clean. Amazing food too !!

Overall a very good homely pub with great staff. The one thing that let it down badly was the roast beef. I really don’t know at £20 for Sunday roast that four of us had why the beef was such poor quality we couldn’t eat it.

We were lucky to arrive for the Tuesday night steak night. Buy one get one for £1. Ok, so you cook it yourself on a volcanic rock but that was fun. The side dishes were also very well cooked. It was popular so booking advise and the Quay seemed to offer three sittings times.

Friendly and comfortable pub by the river and car park. Just the thing after a walk around the old walls.

Firstly the staff they were very welcoming and very attentive but not overbearing and were happy to chat. Now the food well what can one say. We had the sharing platter for starters which looked and tasted fantastic then had the Sunday roast which was to die for very wholesome and tasted beautiful. The ambience of the Quay Inn is cosy and also dog friendly. If you are in the area give this place a try you won’t be disappointed. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Excellent food and service. Small traditional pub with bar and tables. They allow dogs in. They do 'hot rock' which is a very hot stone where you cook steak on your table. On Tuesdays it's on a 2 for price of 1.

We visited on a Tuesday for the first time to try steak night, where it's buy one get one for £1. Excellent value for money, very tasty steaks and great service all round. We will certainly be back!

If you go after 6pm parking is free. The food is well cooked and the choice for allergies and intolerences diets whilst not extensive at least was available. My husband and I enjoyed our fish and chips, my mother's salmon and broccoli was beautifully cooked.

This is our favourite pub in the area. Great atmosphere , lovely food, great service and good value for money. Our little dog is welcome in one of the eating areas & loves sitting by the fire.

Went to the Quay Inn for a family meal. I had chicken wings for starters it was amazing. And mains me and my wife had rump steak on the black rock .this was the vest steak i have ever had. I asked the waiter where was the steak from. It was a black gold Angus steak from curtis the local butcher. The whole experience was amazing i would like to thank all the amazing staff at the Quay inn Wareham for their brilliant service. There was 6 of us eating and we all agreed we need to return very soon

The Quay Inn Wareham / Ware the customer is always wrong !!! Ordered steak told the lady who took my order I needed to eat .. gluten-free , onions , tomatoes & shellfish free When the steak arrived I asked the waitress for some mustard. She pointed at the squeezy one on the table. I said I can’t eat that ( it had wheat added but I was told by their staff I could eat it ) I asked for something else she said I don’t think we have anything but then managed to produce some.. pretty offhand manner in general .. When I had finished my salad, there were onions underneath … I was upset because I knew now I was going to feel ill ill … So my partner took my dish to the bar and showed them the plate. The manager kind of apologised .. he then came over to my table to tell me that we hadn’t informed the waitress about all my of my allergies and that we weren’t telling the truth. I was really upset by his attitude it was aggressive and unfriendly. I asked him why he wasn’t apologising and why he felt the need come over especially to call me a liar we weren’t charged but it was incredibly rude unpleasant experience and it’s clear the staff know nothing about allergies and didn’t take my allergy information seriously and indeed nearly gave me the mustard to eat as well if you have allergies, I suggest eating somewhere else as they don’t seem to take allergy seriously .. The Quay Inn ruined a holiday night out for my partners Birthday:(

What a find. Lovely pub/restaurant. Located on Wareham Quay. Lovely layout, atmosphere. Pleasant and efficient staff. We had an excellent meal, well cooked, presentation and value for money.

We booked about 6 months in advance for Tuesday Steak night and boy it didnt disappoint! The food was amazing, service and atmosphere was great as well. Our toddler (who has eating issues) ate the most in ages when here! The fish fingers were really yummy as well, so we could understand why. Cant wait to visit again

Visited on the famous steak night -where you buy a steak for a £1 with a full price one -the service was quick and so friendly -the food -thick steak-lovely sauce -beautifully cooked jacket and mushrooms was delicious -will be returning very soon !

I stayed at short notice in a well-appointed twin room upstairs in the adjacent annex, overlooking the square and the river. The bed was comfortable and the little en suite clean and functional. A good towel, soap and shampoo were supplied. There was a good tea and coffee supply. The bar was quite busy with people, but I got a table and enjoyed a very nice dinner, made with local ingredients. A good hand-pulled beer selection. The staff were very welcoming and proficient. I also had a similarly good breakfast and lunch. Parking on the square is paid, at reasonable rates, during the day. A good location for Wareham and the Isle of Purbeck and Wareham is on a good railway with direct connection to Bournemouth, Southampton and London, plus points west. Would definitely stay again.

Had a lovely meal, food was all freshly cooked and it tasted delicious. Lovely atmosphere in the pub and the service was welcoming and friendly without being over the top. There were 9 of us - a mix of kids, teenagers and adults on a family holiday and booked here for an evening meal - so glad we did, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal (amd desserts!). We will definitely go back when in the area.

Excellent service and friendly staff, food is always local, fresh and delicious. Not overly expensive either, been in twice for breakfast for 3 people and came to £40 for coffees, juice and full English.

Warm welcome, had a delicious warm Camembert to start, was enough for two, sirloin steak cooked at your table on a lava stone, and lovely white chocolate ice cream to finish. Will be back, soon hopefully.

As always excellent service and superb food.Had the tasting board for two as our starter. All the items were scrumptious and it would have sufficed as a light lunch. We both had the sea trout from the specials board and the sauce elevated it far above general pub food. Otter ale is a favourite and it was well kept and served. As a bonus we used a Groupon voucher which made it very good value. Shame no more vouchers as we start to enter the holiday season.

Stopped in Wareham on the way home from Poole. It looked inviting from outside so we checked the menu. It was perfect for what we were wanting for lunch so we went in. Found a table and ordered at the bar. Food came quickly, tasted good and the staff were friendly and helpful. The toilet was clean. Nothing to fault and we’d happily go again.

Visited this pub for the second time with friends on a groupon deal. Value for money was amazing. Steak was lovely and our whole group loved their meal. The hot stone was a great option and we would def do this again even if we had to pay full price. Next time id prob stick to just the steak rather than surf and turf. It was delicious tho Friendly staff to. The only negative was it was a very cold evening and the draft from the door made it chilly where we were sat. Next time id prob ask to sit in another area

The steak night on a Tuesday is always fantastic value and great food - even if you have to cook it yourself! This is so popular that the staff are always run off their feet but the service is still well up to scratch. Have never had a bad meal or service at the Quay.

We regularly eat out and about in Wareham as it's within walking distance of home. The place we just keep going back to over and over again is the Quay Inn. Eat where the locals go! Great value food all freshly prepared and served with a smile in a traditional pub with a great atmosphere. Yes we've done breakfast, lunch and dinner.......all very good indeed but our favourite is steak night. You won't be disappointed!
