Nine in Purbeck

One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. All food was lovely and generous portions, the starters (cheese souffle and salt and pepper squid) were exceptional, and the tiramisu was the best I have ever had!! Friendly, efficient service and lovely relaxed setting with fab decor. Already looking at when we can come again! Thank you so much.

Incredible food, couldn't fault it! It was so tasty that I forgot to take any more photos after our starter. They were very accommodating of dietary requirements which was greatly appreciated. The service was great and it's a really lovely atmosphere, we will certainly be coming back!

NINE in Wareham came up with the best reviews and we were not disappointed – the cannelloni was incredible – pasta homemade that day and the filling and sauce sublime. My husband had the chicken and leek pie with a tasty twist - Dan ( chef and owner ) smokes his chickens first. Not even a drop of sauce was left on either of our plates. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the beautiful wood table and comfortable chairs added to the relaxing music and vibe. We will be returning and have already passed on our recommendation to friends and family who love freshly cooked, fantastic food by a great chef.

Where to begin ! Nine recently catered and ran the entire hospitality aspect to our wedding. The whole team were incredibly professional, fun and hugely attentive. We opted for a marquee style wedding. Sharon and Dan were on site with us multiple times over the days leading up to the wedding filling us with reassurance and confidence in the running of the day. They knocked the whole day out the park, the food was absolutely fantastic, the bar staff were engaged and fun, the leadership and timing from Sharon/Dan was faultless and nothing was ever to much. We over ran on some parts of the wedding which meant some of the team had to stay on slightly later, Sharon managed this faultlessly in the background keeping the day rolling without a glitch ! Both my wife and I are hugely grateful to each member of the Nine team who worked so hard to deliver the best day of our lives. Sharon/Dan, thank you for everything.

Scores 10 out of 9. We had a dinner that beat expectations and then a fabulous breakfast. Both were characterised by an ambition, fully realised, to deliver proper, high quality, delicious food. All dishes were interesting and beautifully executed with the best ingredients. We wanted to try everything on the menu. Service was friendly and attentive to detail, down to providing homemade sauces and bespoke coffee. Wareham is lucky to have this place

My favourite place for breakfast in Wareham. A lovely little place and great food. The best scrambled eggs.

We just stopped by for a coffee and some cake on a warm Saturday afternoon in May. The Flat White coffee was good and strong. Exactly how we like it. They had plant based milk too for us vegans. We also had a delicious rhubarb cake. Good service, nice atmosphere.

It’s always wonderful to have a menu where you find it difficult to choose what to have as there are so many delicious options! This restaurant in a Dorset gem; delicious food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. We will be back!

This restaurant is by far the best restaurant in Wareham, the food is consistently delicious and always cooked to perfection. Family run the service is second to none.

Food was so good, seasoned to perfection. Effort put into arrangement. The s'mores desert was laid out like a mini campfire. The place deserves a Michelin star. Oddly quiet on a Saturday night. Hopefully gets more recognition.

Lovely food, but rather spoilt by constant door banging and being left open causing draught.

What a little gem. Greeted by a wonderful smile from the owner as we walked in and this set the mood for our whole stay. Food was delicious and the decor on its own was worth a visit! Great price. ❤️

The best place to eat in the Purbecks. Top family restaurant, beautiful decor, lovely atmosphere and friendly team. I love the chef's Dorset jugger pie - delicious. And I often choose mushrooms on toast for brunch which are equally lush! The cheese soufflé is the best I've ever eaten. Great coffee served too, if you're just looking for somewhere to get a hot drink.

A lovely place for well prepared local food, with an ever changing menu. The team at 9 always make us feel welcome and are very happy to walk through the menu to help with my allergies (I carry EpiPens). Whether guiding me to safe dishes or chatting with the kitchen to make changes, I know I'm getting a great meal. One of the best places around for good local food.

Amazing atmosphere every time I enter Nine Restaurant and Bar, it's truly my favorite place to dine out. Their roast dinners are 2nd to none, the only place I will ever get a roast! The food flavors are spectacular, you can tell the ingredients are all locally sourced and grown by themselves, all cooked with passion! The ever changing seasonal menu is a good excuse to keep returning over and over. As for the staff, allways friendly yet professional. They go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your dining experience with them. Thank you guys for always welcoming us and always making our time with you delightful!

Absolutely horrible treated like filth as soon as we entered had to sit by the door which never shut properly as my daughter had an assistance dog .Food over priced and poor hubby had a small chewy swimming in butter steak and chips ( no salad or garnish ) we had a gf toasty ( not really toasted just slightly warmed Bread ) not edible as filing of ham was then slightly half warmed . Forget a dairy and gf allergy for coffee they only do oat milk .chips are gf but they use the same fryer . The assistance dog was considered a health hazard but it was acceptable to have a small baby in and out of the kitchen whilst the owner glared and laughter at us behind the window . Will never go again thankfully and strongly suggest not to go if you have any allergies ( plus we did ring first and they said gf and dairy free not a problem . Apparently the owners husband that said this would never had said this )

Rude staff. Was told three different answer to any question Don’t cater for allergies worse say they do but they don’t so much so I didn’t feel it was safe to even eat what they finally provided and I didn’t dare to ask if they actually rember the allergies mentioned as it didn’t arrive as expected in the end Don’t care about comfort never befor have I worn a scarf to keep me warm in a restaurant my hands actually went so cold ridiculous Felt judged and they looked up and down at me like dirt Don’t want assistance dogs Or actually unsure they even want customers

First time here (definitely won’t be our last) fantastic food and service! I’ve been a chef for over 30 years, so I appreciate good food when allowed out of the kitchen! Homemade brown sauce is amazing as well so we bought a bottle! If you haven’t tried this place you should!

There's a saying which goes: 'You don't remember what the meal cost, only what it tasted like.' Well, I do remember it tasted wonderful, and I also remember it was very reasonably priced. But that's only part of the story. This meal was for sixteen people to celebrate a milestone birthday. And to say that the lovely people at NINE went the extra mile would be an understatement. They could not have done more to ensure that we had a marvellous, faultless evening. Thank you NINE.

"Twas a night before Chrismas and all was fine. Where numerous people had come here to dine. A reception drink to set the mood, followed in time by some wonderful food. A maestro played whilst the guests all nattered, and during this time nothing else mattered. A festive quiz with some dubious answer, then another fine tune without any dancers. (The Twelve Days of Christmas), some were in tune and others were chancers." The team at Nine have once again delivered a great festive evening. Angie and I wish them all a very merry Christmas and continued success in the New year.

Stunning taste, I had a breakfast and everything on my plate was so tasty, well worth paying that little extra for. Highly recommend to anybody looking for quality .

I felt bullied as I requested to SWAP my mushrooms for hash brown which I was told was was ok I clarified this twice!! I was later annoyed to find out that they charged for for a hash brown. I was not happy and I did not flush the toilet haha

Breakfast (My favourite meal of the day), lunch or dinner is always a pleasure to dine at Nine. I have even returned for the coffee and cake moment which again did not fail to impress. Wareham now has a 5* establishment and I wish you every success.

Best coffee shop in the area. So many places seem to be glorified cateterias but this place knows how to create a relaxed atmosphere with good music and decor. Every customer seems to be very complimentary.

We visited for the third time yesterday, having visited the first and second time within days of each other last September. We stumbled across the restaurant and had breakfast during our first visit and loved it so much we immediately booked for a birthday dinner 2 days later. Only being away for a long weekend, we wanted to make sure we found somewhere special and immediately knew this would be the place to celebrate our birthdays. When we returned to Wareham this weekend we couldn’t wait to visit again. This time we had Sunday lunch - the food was fantastic once again and the team are wonderful - friendly, incredible chefs and thoughtful … noting our anniversary and making it special for us. They also welcomed our 3 month old baby which made us feel comfortable eating out, also offering flexibility when needed to accommodate the pram. We can’t wait to visit again.

Great atmosphere, great staff, great food

This almost our local and wow are we lucky. Went it for a treat at lunch today and it was delicious. Great to be able to get a sandwich and a drink and good service too. Other half blew the (calorie) budget with a rocky road with coffee and I sneaked a bit. Good value and great food.

Thanks to all the friendly team at Nine Restaurant. Stopped for a delicious lunch today. Pie, Mash & liquor was a welcome bit of nostalgia but to an amazing modern standard. Kids loved the paninis and top-notch chips. Desserts of warm chocolate fondant and homemade ice cream plus treacle sponge pudding and custard finished us off. Great atmosphere and quality all round. Definitely recommend.

Possibly one of the worst places I’ve ever been to and that’s not because of the food necessarily but from the owners and their lack of customer service. It’s our first time in Wareham and off recommendation we’ve decided to go to Nine for our first evening here. never did I imagine being practically thrown out onto the street! We all had chosen starters and mains which all sound lovely all three of us had chosen the minute steak as our mains and I believe MINUTE steak should be fairly easy for any chef to make as the clue is in the name.. well when all three of our steaks went back to the kitchen as they were tough and overcooked we never imagined having our plates brought back out to us with the owner telling us there was nothing wrong with it and that never in the whole time they’ve opened that they’ve had three steaks back to the kitchen and I don’t know about you but there’s a first time for everything don’t they say and another common saying ‘the customer is always right’ well not in this case I can NOT believe the way we were treated in that restaurant being asked if WE were chefs would we even know how it’s meant to be cooked! That her husband was chef and she has never seen him so angry!! She told us don’t pay for anything and just leave! No offer to change it to something else, not even giving us a chance to try the steaks again! the way she was so defensive over the meal and was telling us in such a rude way that that’s how they make them, that is how they come. we tried to reason and said look if that’s how you make your minute streaks we will happily try it again and to pay for the meal but they said NO! You can pay for your wine and go! So at this point I am furious to say the least I can’t even stay in that restaurant after being treated like that! Possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced I would urge you to carefully consider eating here just in case you order something you don’t quite like because the manner of this woman is terrible! Such a shame as we were so looking forward to it and have had our first night ruined by them. Absolutely outrageous behaviour wish I could have given 0 stars and if you have a reply that’s going to be rude like I’ve noticed on your other 1 star reviews I’d honestly save your breathe because quite frankly everyone needs to know how poorly treated we were in your restaurant.

We are Korean and I usually make kimchi for my family. We are surprised about Korean wings and homemade kimchi's taste. My kids said "this is the best chicken ever" so we ordered 3 times same menu. I appreciate for making delicious and creative foods. It gave us happy moments in summer vacation.

Had a lovely meal and dessert here. All cooked to perfection. The veg was all from the owners allotment and was very fresh, cooked perfectly and just very enjoyable. Crabcakes were well seasoned and had fresh herbs through them. Steak on the special was tender and cooked exactly to my ask and liking. Although quite full, we enjoyed two desserts which were some of the best we have had. We had been to the Pig on the Beach in studland a couple of days before and Nine Resturant was actually far better and cheaper. Will recommend this one to family and will definitely be back

Best coffee in Wareham, after struggling to find some. Also had a good light lunch here, if we were staying longer we would have gone back for dinner.

As London foodies, we were absolutely blown away by the incredible dining experience. Phenomenal food, great wine list, and world-class chef. Would plan another trip around dining here.

Very welcoming to four very wet bikers even when we turned up only 5 minutes before lunch service ended. A lovely roast dinner with perfectly cooked roast beef, crisp roast potato’s and a bowl of four different vegetables with lots of tasty gravy and service second to non a big thank you from us. Will definitely visit again next time when we are in the area.

We arrived with only 5 mins until they stopped serving roast dinners but they still invited us to dine. The food was excellent and the service outstanding. A very warm welcome and would definitely recommend.

We came to NINE for dinner on the day we got engaged and they could not have been more lovely! There were confetti hearts on the table when we arrived and the staff were kind and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. My fiancé had the goats cheese to start and I had some lovely bread and olive oil. He then had the steak pie with truffle mash, which he said the pastry was amazing. I had the vegan cauliflower steak - which in some restaurants is bland - but was so full of flavour and cooked perfectly. It came with really lovely spiced lentils. For dessert we shared a chocolate fondant, which had ‘congratulations’ written on the rim of the dish ☺️ We would 100% come back when we are next in Dorset! 10/10 - thank you for making our day so special.

We were offered the "5" courses christmas menu, including 1 starter, 1 main, dessert, bread and minced pie for 39.99, when we left the place we saw you have the option of 2 dishes for 27 but they didnt mention to us... Starters were average, main and dessert was good. Maybe normal menu is more impressive...

Fantastic Sunday Roast, excellent service and very friendly team. This was the best Sunday Roast we have enjoyed in quite some time, and considering we had 1 vegetarian and 1 meat eater that is quite something. The vegetables were amazing both in flavour and how they were cooked and the Yorkshire puddings were divine. The vegetarian main which was a beetroot wellington was delicious and the mushroom gravy was so moreish. There was a great selection of vegetables that accompanied the roast including carrots, parsnips, cauliflower cheese and cabbage. My husband had the Roast Pork which he said was also delicious. For Desert we had apple pie and cream and there was a great selection of wine by the glass. Its so great to see a small local restaurant do things so well and make such a great impression. We chatted to one of the owners after our meal who told us about their vegetable allotment and we could see how much passion the family have about this business and making it a success. We will be back....

We had fantastic seasonal food here, lovely place with recycled furnishings which look fun and quirky. Beautiful seasonal fixed menu at a very reasonable £20 for 2 courses. The smoked trout was fabulous with celeriac and pickled vegetables and the butter it squash was smooth and had delicious toasted seeds and a chilli kick. Very friendly service from a fantastic family run place, we will be back!

We will not eat here again. We had breakfast here and it was very under cooked and wasn’t able to eat it. The waitress was more interested in her friends that came in and was discussing what was happening the following evening and what they would be drinking, not something a young family want to listen to.

Friendly efficient service and lovely lunchtime visit, shame we’re not local

Unfortunately had a very poor experience at Nine. Myself and my wife do not eat pork. The menu only gave a choice of four dishes that did not include pork. One of these, the fish of the day, had sold out. Whilst not adverse to vegetarian dishes it was a shame that there were no other offerings of either chicken, lamb or fish that we could order. We initially ordered the duck cassoulet with the pork removed which the waitress told us would be fine. We also ordered our drinks and other food. However we were later informed that there were pork lardons in the cassoulet which could not be removed. At this point we felt it was best that we cancel our order entirely and look elsewhere for someone who could cater to us better. We apologised to the waitress that we couldn't choose anything else and that we would have to go somewhere else. She said that would be fine and not to worry about it. We left the restaurant when two minutes later the manager rang me saying that we had not paid for our drinks and that she could not resell them. We had not touched the drinks. We went back to explain that we had ordered drinks on the presumption that they would be able to provide us with dinner and were not interested in simply downing our drinks with no meal. The manager was very defensive over the choices on the menu and did not offer any alternatives. We agreed to pay for the drinks but said that we would leave feedback offering advice to the manager. We were able to take one of the drinks with us but could only abandon the other. As a business we would strongly suggest the owner changes their attitude and listens rather than gets defensive over what her customers have to feedback.

The ambience of the restaurant was fantastic. Creative. Food was so good. I was able to have a starter, mains and sweet/pudding. Made so enjoyable by the front of house service. Was absolutely spot on. Will be back again for sure.

Not quite there yet This restaurant gave the impression of being new, with young staff who are not quite there yet. Potential but not achieved the standard demanded of the prices. With fish at £21 and a tomato salad starter at £9, I would expect more polish. The staff were attentive but too rushed. Barely a pause between our starters and main course. We then asked for a gap before we ordered pudding but the waitress cam back after about 5 minutes. The tomatoes salad was what it said it was! The dressing was very good but £9 was a bit steep. My partner ordered new potatoes with his main course but they never came. I had ordered veg but they were missing too. A case of not being quite so quick with slapping the food on the table. Portions were small. We shared a cheeseboard. The cheese was unexciting and obviously straight from the fridge. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said food regulations means you have to serve cheese chilled. This just isn't true. And for £12 I would expect a cheeseboard with better flavour and presentation....perhaps some fruit on the board. The coffee was bitter. Finally, a 10% service charge was added to the bill. I like to pay what I want, related to the service. Rather a long moan, but a few tweaks would make this a more enjoyable dining experience. And at the prices charged, I do expect a relaxed night night out, not a rush through the menu. The people at the table next to us left after their bread....probably wise.

Me and my boyfriend had the best meal at nine restaurant . The food was excellent and the service was great. I'm sorry I didt get the young lady who runs it name. But she looked arfter us answering any questions we had . The chefs are her parents so it's a proper family run business. Truly amazing its defo worth a try you wont be disappointed

The breakfast was lovely if a little pricy and lacking in choice. Edit- there was only one breakfast option on the menu we were given - the full English at 12 quid. The food was really nice, we just felt it a bit limited.

Biggest surprise in Dorset! I came across this gem of a restaurant wandering with my son, trying to find a decent place to eat! And I did! What a friendly staff, but most of all, what a delicious menu! I’m considering going back to Dorset mainly to pop in Nine and see what else will be on the special menu! Well done, guys!

What a gem in the heart of Wareham! They were kind enough to find us a sitting at short notice and from then on the evening and meal were sublime. Service excellent, ambience superb and food beyond delicious. A small, family run restaurant serving such great food so well deserves to be visited. It really is a five star treat - go and find out for yourselves!

I popped in off the cuff to get a drink of water before my trip to Winchester from holiday in Swanage and luckily decided to have a cappuccino which was probably one of the best I've ever had!! The young girl who was in training was very polite and friendly and made my coffee & the other lady was also very helpful and arranged for my scones to be packed in a box for takeaway. Sounds simple but the customer service was top notch even for such small order. I will definitely be back to sample the lovely looking menu! Bravo.. and whatever coffee they use...I want some!!!

We had a lovely 3 course meal last night to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The food was amazing and it was a very nice and unique restaurant. The menu was full of home grown produce. We had a lovely time at NINE. Food was delicious, staff really friendly. Well worth the visit! Will definitely be back. Only thing we weren't keen on was the tip/service charge had already been added to our bill. Always happy to tip and we did pay this, but always a bug bear of mine when restaurants do this! Will still come back though as we really enjoyed our meal!

Excellent food with a seasonal and imaginative menu. A highlight this evening was the Brown sugar meringue and walnut praline.

lovely ambiance and service, would give 5* to these. unfortunately we were rather underwhelmed by the flavours. starters: the crispy poached egg was very greasy and the duck bacon wrapped around the asparagus quite chewy; the mackerel was fully covered in pickles that killed any other flavours. mains: the burger from the specials was good; the cauliflower with lentils and peppers did not blend well instead. dessert: we both had the smores: cinnamon biscuit had no flavour and could not be broken with spoon (had to eat separately at the end); the chocolate was sickly sweet; the marshmallow was cold. we had high expectations from the menu and the reviews but sadly it was not to our taste.

Best cappuccino I ever had was from here. Staff very friendly and genuine.

What a fantastic evening! From the moment you enter the doors you know you're in for a treat. The restaurant space is open, cool and inviting, and especially with the front doors open wide it makes for a lovely atmosphere. We had three courses each and all of them were fantastic. Highlights for me were the smoked duck breast wrapped around asparagus. The duck is smoked in house and you can taste the care and attention that has been put into it. Secondly, the Dorset Jugger pie. This was really fantastic, with outstanding short pasty and a stunning filling. Even on a hot summer's night this was amazing and so satisfying. For desert we shared the s'mores which was indulgent and totally delicious. This is such a fantastic place, and you can feel the love that Dan, Sharon and Izzy have put into it. Thoroughly recommended.
