I was in Plymouth and visited the Blue Peter to watch the football on TNT Sports. I didn't have high expectations after reading previous reviews BUT was pleasantly surprised. The new owners are putting a lot of effort into revamping the premises and I watched the TV in the newly decorated lounge area which was very comfortable. The manager and owner were both present and very friendly and welcoming. They hadn't started doing food when I visited but I think that's coming. Don't be put off by older reviews: the times that are a'changing!

I shared a pre Christmas lunch with friends at The King's Arms in Oreston and will definitely go back! It was warm, festive and inviting, well worthy of 5 stars. I give 5 stars to food presention and quality, and 5 stars to service. Well done - I'm going back to try out some of the delicious looking meals we saw being served. Thank you to all staff and Happy New Year!!!

A fantastic restaurant / bar with lovely views, great drinks selection & food let down every single time by the lady with dark short hair and glasses.. Visited a couple of weeks ago with my partner for a couple of beers and had a nice warming welcome from the gentleman on the bar (sorry for not catching your name) We asked if we could sit upstairs for a nice view and quiet surroundings he said of course only to be greeted by a miserable member of staff who clearly did not want us there as she huffed and puffed with her laptop and scuttled into what I can only imagine was the office / staff room ( we were clearly an inconvenience) We put this ooccasion down to perhaps her having a bad day so did return today (New years day) had the most amazing welcome again and was made coffee by a lovely lady who on the receipt reads as Catherine ( I hope this is accurate. She was trying to do a number of things at once such as make drinks, greet people all while taking the Christmas tree down and still had a smile on her face.. Less I can say for her colleague with the dark short hair who was yet again miserable as sin and clearly should not be working in the hospitality sector. She has absolutely zero situational awareness whatsoever either that or she just does not care.. I do hope it is not the manager ( how embarrassing) the rest of the team are amazing and I will return but if somebody from St Austell brewery is reading this do yourself a favour and get rid of her she really is letting the place down.

Disgraceful, never again. Been eating and drinking there for years. Took family there for an evening meal. Having spent over £200 pounds, at 9:15 we were told they weren't serving any more drinks, as they were closing and we had to leave. No apology and the member of staff walked away while we were speaking to her. This was entirely unprovoked, we had been quiet and polite all evening. It was purely because it had gone quiet, and most customers had left, not surprising if that's how they treat people.
