I was in Plymouth and visited the Blue Peter to watch the football on TNT Sports. I didn't have high expectations after reading previous reviews BUT was pleasantly surprised. The new owners are putting a lot of effort into revamping the premises and I watched the TV in the newly decorated lounge area which was very comfortable. The manager and owner were both present and very friendly and welcoming. They hadn't started doing food when I visited but I think that's coming. Don't be put off by older reviews: the times that are a'changing!

Been here a number of times and it’s my go to pub, there’s a wide variety of food and a great selection of drinks. The perfect vibe for a chilled dinner with the family or for a special occasion. Staffs customer service is 10/10. A very welcoming atmosphere, would definitely recommend! :)

Such a well run establishment. Great beer and food. So welcoming. Lou and Jordan could not do enough. The Sunday lunch was great. Fresh vegetables and choice of meat was brilliant. Service throughout the meal was up and beyond. Lou made the experience that little more special with her bubbly personality. Nothing was too much trouble. The general vibe of the pub was fantastic and easy to see why it was so busy with diners and drinkers. A real hidden Jem. Other establishments should really visit to see how they could improve on their own service levels. Well done. We will be back.

Had a lovely lunch here with our elderly aunty, who is a regular at this restaurant. You really need to know it's here. It's dog friendly, fabulous menu, all freshly cooked traditional food. I had monkfish scampi which was delicious, my husband had liver and bacon which is his favourite whilst Aunty had a fish pie. There was a great drinks menu with a fab selection of alcohol free gins by Salcombe gin. We'll be back again next time we visit Aunty ❤️

called here at the weekend as it advertised children's play area but sadly not open said they have got wasps . ordered food, hubby had belly pork with cider & cinnamon sauce & veg. Had to have chips with it as no mash available. Sweetcorn looked anaemic & was rubbery. cabbage was tasteless. Peas were overcooked. All looked like they had been reheated from yesterday. Belly Pork was tolerable but the sauce was like a jug of milk. Chips also looked & tasted as if they were reheated. I had a steak baguette - was not asked how I wanted steak cooked but that is irrelevant as it was mostly fat not steak. it was advertised as with peppercorn sauce but nothing. Spoke to the waitress who said she would relay our issues with the kitchen but nobody came back to us - ie management to apologize or anything NEVER AGAIN

Disgraceful, never again. Been eating and drinking there for years. Took family there for an evening meal. Having spent over £200 pounds, at 9:15 we were told they weren't serving any more drinks, as they were closing and we had to leave. No apology and the member of staff walked away while we were speaking to her. This was entirely unprovoked, we had been quiet and polite all evening. It was purely because it had gone quiet, and most customers had left, not surprising if that's how they treat people.
