Excellent Sunday roast and it's served up to 6pm. A huge bonus! Family and dog friendly, with welcoming staff. Vegan options available too. A proper pub with well kept ales and a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

called here at the weekend as it advertised children's play area but sadly not open said they have got wasps . ordered food, hubby had belly pork with cider & cinnamon sauce & veg. Had to have chips with it as no mash available. Sweetcorn looked anaemic & was rubbery. cabbage was tasteless. Peas were overcooked. All looked like they had been reheated from yesterday. Belly Pork was tolerable but the sauce was like a jug of milk. Chips also looked & tasted as if they were reheated. I had a steak baguette - was not asked how I wanted steak cooked but that is irrelevant as it was mostly fat not steak. it was advertised as with peppercorn sauce but nothing. Spoke to the waitress who said she would relay our issues with the kitchen but nobody came back to us - ie management to apologize or anything NEVER AGAIN

Dog friendly pub in back streets of busy area of Plymstock. Popped in for a drink & light lunch yesterday as first choice pub was holding a wake. Friendly older barman served our drinks & said would take payment once we had chosen food. He made a fuss of our Spaniel, even rewarding him with a treat. Cheesy chips, chicken baguette & belly pork bits were our choice. Tasty, well presented & good portions was just the job to fill a hole. Pub was welcoming light & airy, with comfortable seating, although there was dirty glasses on a few empty tables. Purchasing a second drink, young lad serving was not so enthusiastic, almost to the point of being rude. Toilets both gents & ladies could do with an overhaul, strange smell in gents & very rusty radiator situated under hand dryer. Large free car park, nice play area and seating situated to the rear & side of pub.

Food very mediocre. Burgers were tasteless and tough. Burger rolls were cold as if they've been defrosted. Baccy cheese was like warm. Steak was very fatty and ridiculous amount of peppercorns in the sauce. Very cheap tasting food for not very cheap prices. The only nice things were the look of the pub itself and the really lovely professional waitress. But never going back. A flip flip with cheese in it would taste better than the burgers served there.

What a waste of money! Meal for 5. Very basic food. Burger was tasteless and tough. Burger rollers very cold, like they'd been defrosted. Mac cheese was luke warm. Steak was very fatty and 30 peppercorns in every mouthful of sauce. Food took ages to arrive. Every meal was bland and felt like from cheap ingredients. Very disappointing.

Disappointing meal in the pub. Rump steak was pretty tasteless on its own, not seasoned at all. Ordered the peppercorn sauce which was more like a paste of a huge number of peppercorns and very little sauce. Grilled tomato wasn't cooked at all. Wife had the burger that was equally tasteless and very dry. Chips were good. Maybe a bad day in the kitchen but unfortunately won't be back.

Group of 4 friends off the cuff chance to meet up, Plymstock Inn was able accomodate us for Sunday lunch. Good choice of meats came out piping hot plus large plate of cauliflower cheese included, one of the best Sunday roasts had in Plymouth, friends down from Sussex also impressed on value and quailty. Nice range of ales and lagers. Lovely staff came over to check all happy with meals on couple of occasions. Look forward to visiting again

Nice inside area but we came here as was on a top 10 family pub as had a play area for children but unfortunately the play area is in disrepair With broken missing slide with yellow tape they put up but has also been ripped down properly by the children ! Play area is still open which has safety issues ! Also the fence between car park and the play area has missing slats and also broken which allows children to fit through and run straight into the car park It’s a shame the pub has not addressed the issues while still keeping the play area open

Used to come here a lot and really liked it, however the last 2 visits have been awful, wanted to sit outside but EVEY single table was dirty and it was midday with only a couple of other customers, park was broken and scruffy, went inside and it was the same, everywhere you look it’s filthy. Took my young daughter to the toilet and was shocked at how dirty it was in there as well. Food was ok but was put off with how dirty it was. Such a shame as it’s next to a beautiful church, sadly won’t be back

Mediocre at best. The man behind the bar was lovely and friendly with lots of banter. Had the steak medium rare. Both came out overdone and had lots of fat. The, half a tomato, was burnt on the outside but still raw and hard. Very small portion of warm-ish chips but a massive portion of peppercorn sauce. (Could of fed a table of 6 easily) I was having a really bad day already and didn't complain at the time because it wouldn't have gone well. It cost over £64 for that and 2 drinks. Left half of it and in a worse mood than I arrived. It's a nice place generally. Seating outside and a play area for kids, too. Lots of free parking. Just don't eat there.

A week ago, three of us went to the Plymstock for dinner. My two companions were happy with their meals. I chose the roasted cauliflower and chick pea curry, this was listed as being accompanied by a flat bread. When my meal arrived there was no flat bread but two poppadoms. These were dripping with oil and tasted of the fried fish which another of my party had. The cauliflower had never been near an oven and was of the frozen variety, limp and insipid. The sauce was thin and had little taste of coconut or any spice. Not wishing to cause any embarrassment for my companions, or the staff, we paid our bill and left. I then sent an email, using the 'contact us' feature on the pub website. This detailed my experience, as above, giving the landlord the opportunity to review my comments and reply without having an adverse review. Now 7 days later I've not had any acknowledgement, much less a reply, leaving me little alternative but to post this review. I was disappointed with my meal but more so with the lack of courtesy of a reply. Edit. Here we are 6 weeks on and still no reply. Sadly , this speaks volumes. Edit2. 9 months later. Still no acknowledgement or explanation...

I will start by saying I think this pub is great. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Have visited a lot over the years. I just have to say that the food seems to have taken a bit of a dive recently. I get all the comments about it is not a restaurant but is a pub serving food… However, the food is sold at restaurant prices! I have posted picture of scampi & chips which is on the menu at £15. I have disabilities and needed to use my gutter crutch rollator to access the pub and to sit in the patio area with my morris dancing pals, while I photographed them. Firstly, there are a plethora of disabled parking spaces at the entrance to the car park, and very close to one of the pub entrances. I used a different entrance with my pals and, apart from having to open a door, it was entirely accessible. There's even a disabled toilet! The bar staff offered to carry my drink out for me, although I was fine, and they were generally very polite and friendly. The pub no longer takes cash, which was its one slight downfall, but overall, it was a very good evening with a lovely old church opposite. For once, my disabilities didn't get in the way. I pop in on a regular basis and there is a young blond lady call Jasmine I think and she’s always been amazing! Always got a smile on her face, amazing manners and always making sure I am well! The pub is extremely lucky to have her work there. I have seen her deal with awkward customers who do sat very inappropriate things to her! So I think they should give her a big pay rise and promote her! I always give her a tip when I leave but it does Frustrate me that she dose not get it and that it all goes in a pot and shared out to other staff!when she deserves it all! There is also an older gentleman who works there and he also works really hard always happy and friendly! Ian the legend!

Tried The Plymstock. Was great. Had the ham hock. Old school. Staff were informative and explained a new menu arrives soon. We will be back and looking forward to it.

Not sure but I think they’ve changed their name. Hot 20 mins ago a large code with chips. Code was fine but the chips were uneatable. So hard so so crunky

Me and my family had a lovely time at Chaddlewood Inn. We had to wait a while for the mains to come out after our starters. However the staff was so lovely and kept us up to date with everything and gave us some extras food as an apology for waiting so long to get our mains out. The food was incredible, the chicken gyros style dinner was to die for! All of us left full and nothing bad to say about the restaurant. We will definitely be coming back and make it our local restaurant to eat at now.
