Great quiz, Debs smashes it every time, bringing a much-needed smile to everyone midway through the week. Praise the lord for the Mannamead quiz.

Very rude bar man could well do with a customer service course

If this pub wasn't Wetherspoons - it would win Camra awards Good Cellar Management Pretty much always a good pint and no argument if there's any issues The Pizzas are better than most of the dedicated Pizza establishments on The Plain - which honestly IMHO should make Papa Johns - Domino's etc ashamed - but if people keep buying £20 Zars - they'll keep throwing them out The staff are pretty much always on the case - juggling catering to back room seated (Wetherspoons timed app) clients and front of house And curiously some of them know the meaning of the word shibboleth Try the week days - it's a good little gaff Over and out 👍😃

The breakfast was really cheap and delicious

When Debbie is running the bar everything runs smoother. When there's a queue she always thanks customers for their patience with a smile. She always works tirelessly to provide the best service. I have no doubt that her dedication and experience would transform any pub she runs

This pub as some really good staff but also a couple really rude ones especially a so called manager named Marcus Who walks around as if he owns the place ! Very arrogant and rude

I moved to the area two years ago, and this easily has to be the best public house in the area. The staff are amazing and always make you feel welcome. The service is very efficient, whether at the bar or when using the app. The food is excellent, and always served promptly. On a Wednesday there is an excellent quiz evening, which is compiled and hosted excellently by Debs, one of the managers. 10 out of 10 for me. A must to visit. Oh forgot to say, great real ales served

Student central , they come in droves , don’t know how to sit on chairs outside, sit on tables instead usually in groups of 4 … order pancakes and nurse a dry white wine or orange juice till 2 pm then come back in the evening dressed like something from the rocky horror show , then there are the oldies who sit at the front of house nursing a doom bar till 11 pm , apart from that probably ok .

Visit about twice a month when the wife and I have a day off together. Staff are always friendly and inform us if a deal is on that day.

My better half Cheryl and myself love this pub. For those people who have seen some of my other post's they will know I am not a lover of the spoons way. But I can say that this is by far the best run spoons in Plymouth and up there as one of the best in the country. The staff are great for the most part(still the odd one or two who don't know what a smile is) but like I say the rest are great the food is always hot(you don't get that often in some spoons) and the atmosphere is always good. Keep doing what you are doing Willie and the team spot on.

Interesting pub. Panton did not initially approve, but he was eventually won over by the advent calendar salesman, sealed the deal with a kiss on the mouth. Picked up a serious dose of Plymouth flu, but would visit again.

The food was the usual for weather spoons however the customer service particularly from a lady called Debs (I believe the duty manager) was absolutely 5 stars. She was very friendly, made sure everything was okay and was very helpful. She was fantastic and I hope this gets passed on to her. The friendly service I needed after a rough day at work from both me and my partner.

Managment should be dismissed at this location. Place was packed and only 3 people serving. We've waited 95 minuts for our food to arrive while watching staff running back and forth trying to get the food out. Im sure manager was very happy with takings that day, shame it came at the expense of very hard working people. I will be dining some place else from now on.

Remember when Gareth became the manager in The Office? The Plymouth equivalent works here. I went with my dad and he asked for a red wine. Nothing fancy. When he served me he gave me two options. I said just the most basic. He laughed and just repeated the two options. Tw@T. I said the second. Gareth then asked what size. My dad had said he'd have a medium if it's available but that it's typically not (in which case he'll have a small). And so I responded to Gareth by asking what sizes there were. He laughed again and said "small, medium or large!" I said medium and told him that mediums aren't usually offered. His smug laughter was replaced by silence. I'm not familiar with ordering wine. I think it was pretty apparent. Not an excuse to mock your customers. Absolute tw@t. Seeing other reviews on here seems to confirm it.

Absolutely rubbish breakfast, the only thing that wasn't over cooked was the toast, the staff didn't even bother asking how our food was just grabbed our plates and walked away. Zero stars!!

Don't queue at the bar!! It's a pub not a supermarket.

The food is amazing here, I love it would highly recommend the buttermilk chicken burger. Only time I really eat a full meal! The atmosphere is abit overwhelming as it is always so busy and it's one of the pubs for the locals of mutley plain. However the staff and nice and the food is good

Wednesday night quiz is an absolute banger

We come to the weekly quiz whenever we can, Debs is an awesome quizmaster :) always look forward to it!

Absolutely packed on a Friday night, it took us a while to find a seat. Nearly all the varieties of beer were sold out at 6.30pm, so we ended up having our third choice, hence the dropped star. I ordered food via the app, which worked very well. Staff really were friendly, and the food was the usual good standard and price of a Wetherspoons pub. It was a bit cold for February, but there were tables on an outside balcony, too, which we liked.

The pub quiz in The Mannamead every Wednesday night is the closest us youngsters will ever come to the sheer joy experienced by out grandparents on VE night.

Always pop in for a bargain breakfast muffin with bottomless coffee, they always get the egg yolk right in this spoons and nothing ruins my day more than a solid yolk on an egg and bacon butty, they've never failed me and I've had a perfect runny egg every time 🙏🙏

For a weatherspoons its OK. Cheap drinks service at bar or to table. Different mix of people and noise carries like all weatherspoons. Didn't try food. Staff were OK they served but didn't make much chit chat again a weatherspoons thing. Toilets upstairs which no issue for me as clean and spacious.

Food was freshly cooked and an incredibly busy day (New year's day) was served quickly. However the general manager on this day was unbelievably rude and quite aggressive. 4 children at our table and he came over shouting and very angry. Looking at previous reviews we don't seem to be the first party this has happened to. Simply because we sent one of the meals back to the kitchen.

In Plymouth for 3 nights with work. We were invited to the quiz there on Wednesday night. Great atmosphere staff, food and real ale my stuff can't fault. Will definitely go back there when in Plymouth

Friday morning breakfast here has become a regular fixture. Lovely breakfast prepared consistently every time by very helpful staff. It can't be beaten on price either.

We had a lovely guy called jack help us out! Really great service, checked in on us and was just really nice. Thank you 🙏

It is quite sad to see how standards have fallen in many Weatherspoon outlets and this appears to attract many of the unsavoury type of customers. There appeared to be a staff shortage but credit to the few for doing their best to provide some service and the food offered was of a good standard

Could have been better, usually go go another Wetherspoon. Sadly this one let the chain down.

Tasty breakfast, all cooked well and service was quick. Nice to see clean tables and positioned well to give everyone a nice space to enjoy the food. Manager was very helpful and polite. No parking at this restaurant but loads of spaces on side roads or carpark very close.

Lovely place for a Coffee & a catch up with friends, even better you initially pay for a cuppa & then you can have as many as you want for free. The Staff are always 💯 Welcoming, Polite, Kind & Friendly & The Disabled ♿ Toilet is Always Immaculately Clean, If You Don't Have Your Own Radar Key The Staff Will Open It For You. There Is Also A Lovely Outdoor Seating Area At The Back So Obviously If You Smoke That Is Were You Go Or If You Don't Smoke & Just Want To Sit Outside It Is Perfect Thank You So Much For Your Fantastic Service All Weatherspoon Staff. This is a very well run Wetherspoons with a lot of character. Myself and some close friends visit almost every week for the brilliant pub quiz run by the amazing Debs. Service is always prompt and the staff are great. The food is of reasonable quality and the drinks are always consistent.

A duty manger that’s operates with an appalling attitude, I wanted to change some mayo which came with my food for soy sauce and said it wasn’t possible unless I pay extra ?! And that it will affect stock take ?! Proceeded to tell me he has already said what the outcome is going to be once questioned why I’d have to pay extra . I’ve been in here previously with some friends and I recall the same “duty manager “ shouting at my friend from behind the bar because he didn’t hear what he said . As previously said appalling attitude and frankly the blokes a chopper !!!

A busy Wetherspoon’s. Went in for a quick meal and pint after house painting all day. Food was quickly served and staff friendly. It was a busy quiz night so quite noisy. Overall a good experience.

Aka the jannermead, is ok for a wetherspoons, clean, cheap with a touch of classlessness.

Another fairly standard Wetherspoons, the beer was absolutely fine.

Had lovely meal and service excellent so impressed we're going back in a fortnight. Brilliant place.

Great time and a male member of staff was super great and helpful he was doing a bit of everything. Had breakfast bap and coffees ☕️ brilliant refill coffee too hence we go for that and the atmosphere of the pub.

Afternoon visit and how refreshing to find a well managed venue with very pleasant and attentive staff. Tables cleared and cleaned regularly. Great selection of real ales and a great choice of value meals available which were well presented and tasty. Converted former bank which has a small outside garden area at rear Toilets as with most spoons upstairs. Decor looking tired and in need of a revamp my reason for a 4 rather than a 5 star review

Me & my friends regularly go on a Wednesday evening for the quiz ran by Debs. Great atmosphere, fun evening & the staff are always nice. Food is what you expect from a Spoons, can't fault it. Also a fan of Curry nights on a Thursday.

Popped in for a quick lunch - service very good (Lady behind the bar was SO nice!) A good lunch too at a unbelievable price!

Vibrant and busy Wetherspoons in one of Plymouth busiest student areas. Cheap food and drink that you'd expect from Wetherspoons. Good stop off point if your doing a mini pub crawl around mutley. Not a place to go if you want a quiet drink though. It's always busy and pretty full even during quiet times. But that's to other peoples preference. Nothing wrong. Just can be pretty loud in there at times. But that shows its popularity I guess. All in all a great place to come for cheap eats and drinks.

We used to pop along to The Mannamead every Wednesday for the pub quiz. They have prizes for the top 3 placing teams and we occasionally came away with a win. Always a fantastic evening, The quiz night has a brilliant host and general atmosphere is great! The food and drinks at the Mannamead are very reasonably priced - Tennessee buttermilk chicken burger is just 😚👌and all the staff have been friendly and attentive. Will definitely be stopping by again next time we're in town ♥️

Jannamead, best wether spoons in Plymouth

Probably the worst Wetherspoons I've ever been to. Tiny portions of burnt breakfast, dark, dingy and dirty.

As far as wetherspoons go this one is alright! It's perfect for a cheap night out and the food is always good :)

Good value pub with a reasonably priced pint and the gourmet steak with peppercorn sauce was really well cooked to a medium, staff were friendly and attentive.

Nice friendly and hard working staff , BUT … food is Not that impressive for the money they charge you for it. Very dry and tasteless & small size burger as you can see , with dry and old & very dark chips and onion rings which obviously been fried in a dirty cooking oil and been sat there in the kitchen somewhere for ages !

VAPING INSIDE the pub seems to be accepted. TOTALLY DISGRACEFUL.

Seems staff overlook underage drinkers. Have seen this as ID clearly show they were under 18 and dropped it. Born in 2007 and passed it back to them. Seems vaping is very acceptable all the time everywhere. Come on . DISGUSTING.Managers, get your staff and Act together please.

It's Weatherspoon's...cheap, cheerful but toilets upstairs. Too loud for us, unable to have a good conversation with friends.
