The best restaurants serving British food in East Devon South West

The only good thing about this place is the parking, because no one is ever there. Poor service, poor food, poor attitude. Would never recommend!

Kenniford farm at Cullumpton ( Mole Avon ) £5 for a bacon bap . Stale bap dried up crispy cold bacon , no butter in the bap . Bloody disgusting not value for money .

Hot chocolates were absolutely appalling. Possibly the worst I have and service was very poor too, rude and abrupt. Not a good experience at all

We go to this hotel regularly, every couple of months for a few nights. The staff are wonderful, warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble(borrowing an iron, a fan and breakfast in my room when I didn't want to go down,due to back problems). The choices for breakfast are good,but dinner in the evening is AMAZING! The menu is Indian cuisine, freshly cooked when you order, and prepared by an Indian chef,using all fresh ingredients. The lamb shank dish is falling off the bone and the food so delicious that we ordered a takeaway dinner on the day we left. Amazing food( the best I've had outside of India!).

We stayed in Haven Devon Cliffs in August 2023, and The Tythe Cottage Restaurant is on the left-hand side from the entrance. Lovely little Cottage with beer garden and old style inside which we loved and small little bar. Toilets are outside. Kid friendly . Kiddies Corner on the menu and great selection. Very reasonably priced. Staff and the atmosphere were very friendly.

Good food. Outstanding fish and chips . And the batter on the fish is the best around here.

Our daughter bought us a 2 course meal voucher for xmas and we finally had time to use it last night. On arrival we were met by a lovely lady called Amanda, she showed us to our reserved table and asked what drinks we would like. Once settled my wife explained she had this Groupon voucher and Amanda was very helpful with accepting it. My wife had a carvery and as I'm a veggie I had the mushroom and onion pie(lovely) , my pie was ordered and we were told about 15 mins later that it was ready and we could go and get our carvery . My wife said the meat was perfect and I had the carvery veg with my pie. The mashed potatoes were spot on as were the peas, I had two yorkshire puddings and they too were spot on. There was a very wide selection of veg . Once we has finished our main, we said to Amanda that we would pop out for a vape before ordering a pudding. We offered to pay there and then with the voucher , but she said nor to worry. We both ordered the apple pie and custard and both were decent sized portions it was a nice finish to a lovely meal. Once we went to pay for our drinks and leave , we were greeted by Amanda again and had a good chat with her for some time. All the staff were extremely pleasant and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be returning at a later date. Thank you toby Lympstone.

Called in after a mornings hike for a Sunday dinner. Was seated upstairs which was a lovely room. The staff were great and the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive. A very pleasant experience.

It’s not temporarily closed Anymore under new management and let me tell you the food is 5* I can’t believe what we got for £41 the biggest most flavoursome meal I have ever ever eaten . We had the roast banquet with 2 drinks it could have easily fed 4 god knows how 2 of us eaten mind you I’m pregnant and husband was very hung over and our baby / 12 month old shared with us I have honestly never eaten anything that good in my life x

Popped in as in area for Sunday lunch. Full roast x2 for £18. Now you may think I bet that was awful. Well it was very good. Hot and tasty. Had a lunch in South East at good restaurant last weekend which was nowhere near as good as this. Thanks. Got to give credit when due. Big portions for price as well. Sat on terrace with great view 👍👍

Stopped for lunch, mid week. Wonderful selection available from bakery, freshly cooked on premises. Allows dogs inside cafe area, which was clean and spacious. Also serves panini, jackets potatoes etc. Really friendly staff. Made me a ham salad. (Not on the menu but there was a sign stating to ask if we wanted anything else, eg salad.) Really nice and very fresh. Pasty and chips were good too. Dog thought so too as the staff brought her a sausage!

I have been using this chip shop for some time but have noticed the standards drop both in food and service. On Thursday 8th August I ordered fish and chips (x2) and paid £10 cash. I was told it would be 10 mins so I popped next door to the Arms for a drink and when I returned 20 mins later the guy behind the counter (I have not seen him before)said he had forgotten to cook my food!?! Rather than wait I just asked for my money back and he said abruptly “we don’t do refunds” ... after another request he just turned out his pocket and promptly slammed my £10 on the counter and said “don’t ever come back” ! To say I was gonna smacked was an understatement ... as if I was ever going back ! I can only imagine he is the new owner (good luck) as the previous guy was very friendly ... I would avoid this place like the plague ... apparently I’m not the only one with a bad experience ...
