Visiting Windsor for a wedding and we dined here. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and went out their way to make our visit special. We had a table for 16 inside but also had the option to sit outside overlooking the Thames. The food was excellent. For starters I had scallops which were cooked perfectly followed by Lamb Shoulder with vegetables and mash. Overall a very pleasant visit and a place we will come back to hopefully soon.

Found out this pub had live sports and as England were playing Finland ...needed a pub to watch it in. Decided on Henry V1...phoned them and asked if I could reserve a table...drinks only....absolutely no probs. When we arrived..we were so delighted we had the front of the pub reserved with what turned out in the end ...a private area and TV. Many thanks to the friendly staff

On the plus side, my starter was nice (Ham hock terrine) and the portion sizes are enormous, if that's what you want. But the roast beef was overdone and was buried underneath a tangled pyramid of "veg". The whole thing was covered in a dollop of black, salty gravy. Pulling apart the pyramid, I discovered carrots, parsnips, cabbage - some of which might have been nice if served in a separate side dish, which I could choose from, rather than heaped in a cone on my plate. I have honestly had a better roast in a carvery for half the price. And a note on server training. Bring a bottle of wine to the table unopened. Show the label, and open it in front of the customer. This is not meaningless etiquette, it demonstrates that they have got what they ordered.

Discovered this pub off Eton High Street after walking part of the River Thames Path. A small local pub, where we received a warm welcome. Good range of beers and great food menu. The pub welcomed families and their dogs. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely interior and good seating and tables in the beer garden area. We enjoyed our ciders and really enjoyed our meals, which were great value.

This place has changed ownership to Crown Estates and has plummeted downhill since. It used to be a great little place with freshly cooked food to order. Now pre-prepared sandwiches cost £6 per half with very little choice of filling, sausage roll, and that’s about it. One type of scone (plain) was average at best. Such a shame. If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it. Take note Crown Estate management because you’ve thoroughly spoiled this place. And the shop is nowhere near as good as it was either.
