Flaming Cow in Windsor and Maidenhead

Went to the Flaming Cow for lunch on a Friday; it seemed a bit quiet. Service was fine with stuff coming up on time. Drinks turned up quickly though their wine menu looks very small. Anne had half a rack of ribs and it was very good and large enough; her cheesy chips were only average. I had the £10 deal which was a nice surprise given prices these days. My burger was v good and salad also good.. Just over £40 with 10% tip. Will go again.

Went for dinner for my husbands birthday with the teens. 2nd time we’ve visited and food was as good as it was on our previous visit. Service is a bit slow which is annoying when there was no one else in the place when we ordered, but we’re never in a rush anyway so not always an issue. Place is clean, I’m told the burgers were lovely - I had the wings which were also very nice. Would go again!

Took the kids on the Easter weekend for a bite. Burnt burgers, yucky milkshakes, tables not clean, and expensive. Not sure how they get this high rating.

Awful. Literally the worst food we’ve eaten in I don’t know how long. chicken tenders were bland, dry and the chicken burger even tasted stale ! Coleslaw was too sweet ?! Why! And the burgers were so gritty and full of small pieces of hard tendon? Gross . Never again

The last time I ate in this building was over 25 years ago when the restaurant was Montmerencies. It was excellent so I decided to give the Flaming Cow a try. The menu options were very limited. My wife selected the half rack and wings combo and i went for a burger. The burger did not come with French fries but my wife’s choice did. As she is not a great lover of fries I didn’t order an extra portion to accompany my burger but did ask for a side of onion rings. Despite there being 3 types of ale on the menu the only one available was a 330 ml can of Camden Pale Ale at 6 pounds. I didn’t realise the price when ordering or I would have made do with water. My wife went for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. There were only two wines available, the SB and a Malbec. The wine appeared to have been subjected to a reverse miracle, having been turned from wine into water. It was so weak that I am surprised it was allowed out without an accompanying nurse. The waitress returned to advise me that they were out of onion rings so did I want another side instead. I would have had a salad except the only one on the menu was a full main course chicken salad. I declined. When the food arrived my burger was ok but nothing special. The ribs on my wife’s meal were excellent, tasty and with the meat falling off the bones. The same could not be said of the wings. I know people have differing palates but I never thought that wings could be made inedible for me. The taste was of a concoction of chemicals that were never meant to be in the vicinity of food. We left and retired to the George, opposite, where I was able to enjoy a couple of pints of Guardsman at “only” 5 pounds a pint. This was my first and last visit to the Flaming Cow.

Burgers are good everything else was bland. We ordered pizza fry’s, chicken tenders, ribs and mixed wings and all tasted like they had been pulled out the freezer and chucked in a fryer. Tasted of nothing and just very average. Service Was fairly non existent which is amazing for a tiny restaurant.

Good tasty burgers without being greasy, lots of topping choices, attentive service, epic milkshakes. Nice to find an independent gem like this.

The best burgers EVER! The burgers are thick & tasty, cooked just the way the chef thinks is best. And he is right. My husband likes his medium rare & whined when told the choices were medium & medium well. He loved his burger.

We eat at the Flaming Cow regularly and always have a fantastic meal. The service is always polite and quick. Fantastic beef burgers and great veggie burgers (according to my wife). The only gripe..... bring back the frickles!

Despite the nostalgic appeal, the recent dining experience fell short due to a noticeable decline in food quality. Additionally, the presence of flies added an unwelcome aspect to the atmosphere. Here's to hoping for improvements on both fronts.

Food choices as expected. Interior like a low key American diner. Food costs as expected. Beer prices off the scale. A larger at the equivalent of £11 a pint. Please wake up and "smell the coffee" that is ridiculously expensive. We won't be returning.

Extremely overpriced for the quality of the food. The restaurant is very unclean also, dirty floors and toilets. It feels like it needs a good clean and an inspection! Service slow also and the restaurant was also freezing cold.

We love this restaurant. If what you want is high satisfying but definitely naughty food. This is your place. I’m all about the ribs n wings combo, and my partner loves the dirty burger. Every time we go there we leave feeling full and happy.

Amazing food! The portion sizes were generous and the food was so good. It’s very rare to find a burger place that has both halal and gluten free options so it was really appreciated. Will definitely be coming back.

Food was average, but the service was shocking. Took over 25 minutes to bring the food out to us, when the food came the server bought it to the table next to us, also incorrect order as we had asked for items to be removed. Food also didn't come out in one go, we had to ask for the rest of our order to be bought to us.

Went here after finding it on Maps. So glad we did. Fantastic food, great service and awesome thickshakes. Highly recommend.

This spot is a quick walk from Windsor Castle, and extremely convenient for my family, as we were in town for the tour. Made reservations in advance, though on this Friday lunch in August, we wouldn’t have had trouble finding a table without. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind, were incredibly helpful with making sure my gluten allergy was accommodated and that my son was well taken care of. The burger was delicious, fries extra crispy, and chicken fingers (my son tells me) were quite good. We would definitely recommend to anyone in the area for a tasty meal and excellent service!

Had a table booked at 7.45pm for 3 people on a Friday eve. Took half an hour to get drinks and waited for food for over 40mins, whilst I appreciate it’s not fast food it did seem excessive and no explanation or communication on the delay. At 8.30pm we were told it was last orders for drinks - I did say we have no idea as we haven’t hd any food yet. When the food arrived it was tasty. Just the experience ruined by the wait and lack of communication. The staff were pleasant when they did interact but it seemed like there was no skill in the management of bookings/ordering in order to space the orders for kitchen etc.

Wing wednesday is an absolute blast, great value for money and tasty BBQ chicken wings are a recipe for success

A great restaurant serving burgers, ribs etc. We visited with two adults and three kids ranging from 4 to 12 years old. All kids enjoyed the food. The kids menu portion size was perhaps a little too large for our youngest, but was perfect for the older two. The adults had burgers, chips, a side of ribs, all very good. A good selection of drinks. Location was ideal, in the town centre and a short walk from the car park across the river. Staff were friendly and helpful, they even sang happy birthday to our youngest and gave him a brownie with a candle. Value was good, we got a discounts for having visited Legoland that day. We visited on a Sunday evening in the school summer holidays. We'd booked, but it was pretty quiet anyway so could have walked in. I would recommend this restaurant.

Made our booking for our sons birthday, on arrival the restaurant was empty and we were told to sit anywhere, I said we have a booking for a birthday, don’t know why but I thought there might be something done with the table seeing that the website promotes birthdays. We sat and ordered, the food arrived after 30 minutes and was wrong, I told the waiter and he didn’t seem to care but having just driven 2 hours we were all hungry so ate it. The food was ok but feel the whole experience could have been better. This was our second visit but definitely our last as was not impressed this time.

Very quiet on a busy Saturday in Windsor, service was quick and food was lovely. Very good value for money. Drinks, sides and mains for £20 each.

We were the only guests! The burgers were delicious and the service very attentive! However, still managed to give me gherkins even though had asked for none. Waiter was very conscious of other allergens though.

Chicken Parmy burger was great, but the wing and rib combo was AMAZING!

Food was outstanding, burgers was cooked to perfection, our waiter was friendly and attentive. The location itself is great but doesn't offer much of a vibe/ or a view. The toilets weren't in great condition but they were clean, but the hand dryer was out of order. Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and my husband really enjoyed the Wing Wednesday special for £17! I recommend the pistachio milkshake! Overall great experience!

Food and atmosphere was excellent, servers were very polite and accommodating throughout. Only slight negative I could say was having to wait to catch a servers attention for extra drinks / the bill. But that was overshadowed by their speed and politeness

We just love eating at this restaurant and so happy that it’s open everyday again. We have always had the best service, and of course the best burgers in town.

We were welcomed on arrival and seated near the air con (it was a really hot day). The food was served quite quickly and was very freshly cooked and well presented. It was delicious and exactly what we had ordered. The meal was great value and we would definitely recommend The Flaming Cow.

was a little disappointed with my visit. The food was OK, but not as good as I was hoping. The milkshakes went down well. Food was served on a flimsy plastic tray which gave the place the feel of a takeaway joint. The music was unnecessarily loud - and no, I'm not that old, meaning that people were almost having to shout across tables to each other to be heard.

First time visiting and will definitely be going back. The service was a bit slow to start, but as soon as they realised they were on form and I couldn’t fault them. Wing Wednesdays is 100% worth the money. My partner well and truly made the most of it and enjoyed every bite. The burger I had was delicious and cooked perfectly. Can’t wait for our next visit.

An outstanding experience at the Flaming Cow last night, was so impressed with both service and food. Tamoor and our waitress looked after us beautifully, great great service and excellent food. My first time visiting and I will be back again and will recommend far and wide.

Great food and good service. Dining maybe a little cramped with tables quite close to each other and the music, whilst an excellent mix of tunes was a little loud. That said great burgers and friendly staff so will definitely visit again.

Staff less than attentive; always seemed in a hurry to just dump drinks and food on the table to rush back to have a chat with each other. Only 5 tables in (including us) 3 other tables arrived after us yet our meals served after them. No urgency or interest taken to customer service.

So disappointing. We have been here before and loved it but this visit was awful. Slow service, misheard orders, cold food, chips tasted of fish and not especially helpful staff when we complained while paying the bill. Won’t be returning sadly.

I was violently sick upon returning home. Their bacon and beef were not right, and were immediately rejected by my body. I will not be returning at all

Great venue for quick food. Milkshakes are ridiculously good. My only slight complaint is the opening hours. We booked a table for 8.30, and they shut at 9, so whilst we were accommodated, everything felt very rushed. That said, I should have checked the closing time before booking - so the complaint is not really with the venue itself. All in all, great value for freshly cooked food.

Great food for adults and children. Good service and location.

Started off good and went down hill. Such a shame just wasn’t our evening. Starters were good. Onion rings and honey chicken wings. However the mains (burgers) came cold! And then took for ever to get replacements and all came at different times. Our son ordered his with no sauce but sadly this wasn’t achieved. sadly I think most of the service goes to deliveroo and Uber drivers and those in the restaurant suffer.

We all enjoyed our burgers. You can’t taste the cheese on the cheese fries they should use American cheese. The Nutella doughnuts are like chewy bullets so not worth the calories! They had no white wine when we went. There were quite a few items crossed off the kids menu too.

When visiting Slough my partner and I were looking for a good burger place because they are one of our favourites. We were greeted by Jeffery who seated us and waited on us. He was friendly and the whole evening went perfectly. Other staff seemed very nice too. The service, friendliness and food (we had burgers, sweet potato fries and Oreo milkshakes) were amazing. We highly recommend Flaming Cow to anyone wanting to try, and we will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Disappointing. Booked for two people on a Saturday night. When we arrived there was three four seater and one two seater tables available. The two seater table that was offered was so close to an occupied four seater table we would pretty much be sat on their laps eating. You couldn’t walk between the two tables they were that close to each other. We weren’t offered a four seater table even through three were available. The waitress also said they don’t usually like to use that table because of it being so close, so why is it there?? We chose not to eat at this restaurant due to seating arrangements. We looked online to see if we could book a table for four - we could! So unsure why we couldn’t sit there if it clearly wasn’t booked. Not recommended unless you like sharing your table with others or sitting on a strangers lap to eat.
