Great place, and the food was lovely especially the Sunday lunch. I can't wait to go there next summer and use the garden with our grandson.

Came here as a big group for my brothers 40th. Food was lovely, I had the vegetarian wellington which was lovely and everyone else enjoyed their food too. Staff were friendly and had a laugh with the gentlemen serving our table. They have a huge garden with a play area. Highly recommend a visit.

My daughter, small pup and I were warmly welcomed and had a lovely mid week meal by the fire. We shared the rack of lamb with dauphinois potatoes l, greens and a rich, sticky gravy. Sublime. We were both beaten by the hazelnut, chocolate mousse which was lovely and rich. Highly recommend and book at weekends or you will never get in.

We were given a gift voucher at Christmas for afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. What a pleasant surprise it was when we went inside, the owner immediately welcomed us and showed us to our table. Our large glass of Prosecco was very enjoyable, it was clear all the sandwiches were made as we were sat down, very fresh and tasty. Warm scones and a choice of various cakes on show. The service and atmosphere was wonderful, I wish the owner all the best in making a go of her business.

Having had our daughters wedding at this venue this weekend and after all the trials and stress that goes with planning a wedding I had to write this review while still reeling in the the overwhelming success that was largely due to the staff at Wickam Estates. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole day was marvellous. The setting is superb. Not the cheapest venue by far but worth ever penny. I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue to anyone. Thank you so much.

The food at the Farmers home is very good service very good my only criticism is you have to pay for everything separately ie if you order a Salmon all you’ll get is a piece of Salmon no veg no potatoes for £19 I expect a meal other than a piece of meat

£26.50 for a day pass, although asked for £30 which includes donation. Our party was made up of 5 adults - we didn’t donate. To put into context, my husband and I have been members of Marwell in our days before our children. It holds a special place in our hearts. We moved away but always managed to make at least 2 visits a year as the children grew up & still do - the kids are now into their 20’s and often visit with us. Sadly the experience over the last 10 -15 years has progressively gotten worse. Every time we go we hope it will be better. Marwell was always at the forefront of conservation and education & had an extremely successful breeding program for the rhinos and giraffes. Much money has been spent on enclosures that didn’t work, the snow leopards, the cheeta, the walkway over the persian leopard, now cloud leopard, the new tropical house, the gibbon enclosure, kids play areas. Now it is a shell. Few animals, lots of paddocks full of weeds, & plastic bottles & little or no information. The annual membership is a steal but place feels more of a kiddies play area than a serious home for conservation and education. It’s expensive and disappointing. Bit on context - The Cotswold Wildlife Park is £19 for an adult. A much smaller facility but full of animals and information & staff happy to help and answer questions.

Please rethink. We are here during half term. Busy? No. One other table only yet service took too long. The higher prices don’t match the quality of the bland food. Everything we had was dry and chewy.. we did complain and got one meal refunded as it was pork belly with no pork! The kids meals were ok to be fair but the main menu was awful, pizza was bought in and dry, ham crumbled upon touch. The greens with the mains were undercooked and spikey. The menus were laminated plastic like a cafe which doesn’t match the £29 price tag for some meals. No music, weird atmosphere. Breakfast was ok, basic and warm but left a lot to be desired sadly

Not a great experience. Went along for the carvery but on arrival the serving area was very messy and didn’t exactly make me want to eat the food. My first mouthful of beef was gristle and fat. The whole meal was cold and the veg either rock hard (peas) or mushy. Roast potatoes were also very soft with zero crisp. Plenty of crisp on the sausages tho!!! Thought I’d make up for it with a chocolate sundae, but they were off the menu!! Won’t be going back. Will revert to The Chairmakers who do a great carvery.
