King's Country Bar & Restaurant in Winchester

We were given a gift voucher at Christmas for afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco. What a pleasant surprise it was when we went inside, the owner immediately welcomed us and showed us to our table. Our large glass of Prosecco was very enjoyable, it was clear all the sandwiches were made as we were sat down, very fresh and tasty. Warm scones and a choice of various cakes on show. The service and atmosphere was wonderful, I wish the owner all the best in making a go of her business.

Myself and a friend enquired about booking a table for an evening meal and was interrupted by a grumpy man at the end of the bar who said that the kitchen was closed. The surprise on the bartenders face led me to believe that she was unaware of this fact. After reading other reviews I can safely say that this was probably the owner who has been referred to as miserable and have now come to the conclusion that we had a lucky escape. Glad we didn’t hand any money over to him and not surprised the place was empty! Would recommend the Horse and jockey down the road!!

First impressions, table and chairs were rough, disorganised and clearly not looked after. Greeted my an unenthusiastic Bar staff, who was dressed very inappropriate to the normal standard expected. Order from menu which was fine. Food came out and everything was deep fat fried. Soft drinks were flat. Some of the food was inedible. Birthday lunch greased out.!!! We did wonder why no one was there. Explains a lot. Never again

Disappointed to be honest, miserable man taking orders wearing a ridiculous face covering which cannot adhere to current regulations, he moved sauces from one table to the other without sanitising. Burgers horrible had been deep fried not grilled. Used to be great here, won’t be returning.

Exquisite meal. Fresh monkfish scallops and king prAwns. All cooked to perfection. Followed by homemade cheesecake. 20/10

Am very surprised at the previous review as the lunch today was excellent. As it was quiet there was just one member of staff who couldn't be faulted. Can't wait to return

We booked a table of 11 for my fathers 81st birthday. We chose Kings as my father has Alzheimer’s and the atmosphere has always been perfect for him. When the booking was made my husband forgot to mention we had two not very mobile members of our party, my father in a wheelchair. Our table was set on the raised area of the restaurant so I asked the waitress if we could change tables and she moved us without any problem, which was great. Once seated the waitress took our drink order. When the drink is arrived they were incorrect, things like this happen so it wasn’t such a big deal. We then ordered our meals, some of the party choosing starters as well as a main. I asked what the pie of the day was and the waitress didn’t know so hadn’t to go ask. 10 mins later the waitress came back and said someone hasn’t ordered a meal, we all looked confused. In the end I had to do the old school hand up scenario so she would work out where she had gone wrong. The starters came to the table, well apart from a sharing bowl of chilli Nachos. When the bowl finally arrived the waitress plonked it between the two people that had ordered it and said that’s to share and walked off. The size was exactly the same as the normal size that my son hadn’t ordered for himself. I went to the bar and explained the problem and the lovey bar assistant said the waitress had ordered two normal size and she would sort it. She came over to apologise and said she would serve us from now on. I explained absolutely the drink situation when we arrived. The nachos came shortly followed by the mains. I ordered a rare fillet steak which arrived medium /well, tomato missing off the plate. The hunters chicken was swimming in grease, the chilli con carne was the same chilli that was on the nachos, basically fried mince which contained 1 yes 1 kidney bean. No onion etc, we sent that back and I think it wasn’t chucked in a pot kidney beans garlic and chilli power added and put back on the plate. We had pulled pork burgers which the teenagers had ordered, they couldn’t even bite through it wasn’t so tough. Gherkins were ordered as an extra, which the waitress wrote down as she has to be reminded by a member of the party before she took the next order, they were missing. The waitress then came over with 3 portions of extra chips, we all said we had not ordered them so she took them back, within minutes she wasn’t back and said the chef said you can have them for free.... Overall I was not happy with the service of quality of food. When we were finished I went to the bar to speak to the manager before the bill Wes bought to the table as I was not willing to pay full price for our meal. The manager came over, I believe his name is Paul. I said I would like to speak to him before I have the bill as I was unhappy and not willing to pay the full amount, they reply was “what cuz you didn’t get gherkins in your burger, and the were an extra anyway that the waitress forgot to write down” as you can imagine being spoken to like this by management and myself a woman, an upset customer I was shocked. He then said “I’ve taken a fiver off your burgers, the chilli has been taken off, what else was wrong” I invited hi, over to the table so I could tell him all the issues with the meal, obviously he refused. He asked me what I wanted to pay and I said I had not even had the bill yet. He printed it off, slammed it on the bar. I explained all of the problems I had had from the minute I arrived and also because of he vile attitude, that may I add would have been very intimidating to a lot of women, I said my I would pay 50% of the bill. He still proceeded to come at me by saying that would not cover the drinks, which was all 8 sort drinks and 2 alcoholic. That would have been no where near the £100 I was willing to pay. In the end he gave me the card machine and I paid the 50%. This restaurant was alway top notch it is nowhere near the quality Previously was, but with management like I have witnessed I am not a surprised. I would like to say on leaving I made a point of thanking the young lady waitress on leaving for her help and apologies earlier, to which she again apologised. I have never had an experience like this nor had to refuse to pay the total of a bill. I will not be returning to this restaurant whilst under the current management. I was such a shame as it was the one time our family meet up as we do not live local to each other.

Went to Kings for a Christmas party, I’m always a little apprehensive when ordering Christmas turkey dinner en mass but I have to say the food was superb! Hot crispy roast potatoes, large portions and the staff even brought out an extra dish of pigs in blankets, winner! All of our party enjoyed the meal, and service.

Went here for the first time recently, specifically wanted a carvery. Booked and was taken to a table, water glasses on the table but none offered. Asked if we wanted a drink from the bar so asked what cider was available, the waitress didn't know but did go and ask. Were presented with the a la carte menu with no mention of the carvery we had just walked by so she said OK just go up (no explanation of prices of what was available or how it worked ie pick one meat or some of each) In fairness, the carvery was very good although we had to find out prices and whether we could help ourselves to the vegetables. It was very good and fresh but once we had our plates we didn't see that waitress again, had to take salt and pepper from another table and still no water or offer of another drink or was there anything else we would like. We were just left until we had finished then presented with the bill which was for a different table so that was whipped away and ours given which we paid and left. On the way out we passed the waitress at the exit who was happily chatting to another girl, not even a thank you or goodbye. Let down by some staff, and it wasn't even busy.

Visited today just for some breakfast. The breakfast was lovely, with all you could expect from a classic full English. The venue has a fantastic patio and lawn area. With wide views across the fields and stables. And also tables along side the horses training rings. Being a stables it goes without saying you can't take dogs...so peace is assured. We will certainly be back

Came up here with friends recently for lunch and nothing could not be faulted. The service was amazing, we had José serving us and the service was superb, nothing was too much trouble and all of my guests felt extremley welcomed by him and we will definatley be returning very soon! Amazing place to eat and definatley worth the experience. Thank you!

Having returned to Kings after bit of a break, my husband, brother in law and myself enjoyed a delicious breakfast, my husband is in a wheelchair and Jose (so pleased to see him back working at Kings) had remembered us and arranged for the the chef to cut his meal up as they have done in the past. The only issue is the coffee.! They only serve instant decaf coffee, in the past all the coffees were available in decaf. (Paul, maybe this could be something to think about changing?) but we will definitely go back. Wheelchair access is brilliant, plenty of room to move around.👍#M&MSom

Poor management. Waitress forgot to order one of our meals and said replacement on its way after 30 mins still no meal. Sent over a waiter who hasn’t served us to apologise who proceeded to walk out mid shift. Told we would get a free drink and meal off but never got the drink so complained. Owner Paul would not speak to us and when he eventually did he was very drunk and squaring up to my friend (20y/o girl) and when she politely asked him to move back he refused then threw us out. Ruined our night out and will not be returning as a result. Do not recommend to anyone if owner will treat a young woman like that then I do not want to give him a penny of my money.

Had a lovely meal we really enjoyed the singer who added to the whole atmosphere hope to go. Again food was good service good

Had a lovely Fathers Day Roast lunch with family, great food & service, it was also nice to have a lovely lady singer, which added to the atmosphere.

Treated to a late Sunday lunch here , a lovely setting , my grandsons loved watching the horses ...the whole restaurant and bar area, very well presented, good atmosphere , clean and welcoming ... but the food was very disappointing, I had the carvery, the pork gammon and turkey was great , beef a little under done for me , very rare.... the vegetables and potatoes excellent. We had wondered why the Yorkshire puddings had gone back uneaten from other dinners , then realised they were like cardboard when we tried ours! .. they also do not serve de-caf coffee and ran out of sparkling water....

Despite having made a booking for 3 people there were no tables available. We were then offered a choice of tables that seat 6, either right in front of the bar or under the singers speaker! We ordered drinks at the bar and our order was taken for the carvery.

We had a family meal here and the portions were very generous. The food and service was very good. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal here, the roast was lush, and the cabbage and leeks were especially nice!!! They also had a singer who was fab, great voice, really added to the atmosphere!!

Acabamos de regresar de nuestra segunda visita a Kings. Comió el domingo con una selección de 4 carnes y muchas verduras frescas. Fue todo cocinado increíblemente y muy sabroso. Había un cantante solista que se sumaba al gran ambiente dentro del restaurante. El servicio fue muy atento y no puedo esperar a volver.

Had a lovely lunch at Kings with the family . They also had a singer there also which was an added bonus added to the relaxed atmosphere.

All of my family have been coming to kings for years. The food is excellent and the setting is gorgeous! You are always made to feel very welcome and the staff and super efficient and extremely friendly! I would recommend this place to anyone

Was disappointed with my meal as I brought my family there for their new “fine dining experience”. Couldn’t enjoy my meal as I was surrounded by rowdy crowds of drunks, including a drunk owner who attempted to show off his bar (Didn’t work as he was very drunk). Poorly managed and couldn’t enjoy our meal. Very disappointed. Feel sorry for the chefs as they are managed by a poor owner.

My partner and I visited this pub on a Sunday on mothers day. We were not with our Mums so we looked a bit out of place but the staff made us feel very welcome from the get go. Nice place with great vies of the horse training. The food was delicious, we were on a day trip from London to the area and were quite famish when we finally got to the restaurant. I had the pan friend sea bass and my partner had the carvery beef. I can report that both were excellent having also dig my fork into my partners plate. The service was prompt and very polite notwithstanding the place was very busy with loads of groups with Mums. Stop by if you can. We don't live in the area but will definitely come back next time we visit.

I was with my family for my Nan’s 82nd birthday and all we wanted was a nice, peaceful evening. As soon as we walked in we noticed that the landlord was intoxicated, the food was cold and it was very overpriced. I heard a lot of inappropriate language which Nan was not impressed with. Will not be going back again, do not recommend.

Seemed like a really nice place, however we got there and there was a large group of rowdy men at the bar that the staff and owner seemed to love! Finally got sat down but received little attention due to the apparent excitement of the men at the bar. Food was poor and over cooked considering how pricey it was. Staff were not forthcoming and unsure to whether this is a rowdy locals pub or another overpriced ‘fine dining’ restaurant. We’re very dissapointed as the language used at the bar was highly inappropriate and as we had kids with us we were shocked, and this language was not just from the men at the bar but also I assume the man who is the owner, who always seemed to have a large glass of wine beside himself no matter what

Best place around for a good roast dinner. Great atmosphere and friendly Staff. Love the meat draw won 2 out of 3 !! Look forward to returning very soon

Was looking forward to our meal, but as soon as we walked in we could tell the owner was drunk. He tried to talk to us but could immediately tell he was heavily intoxicated as we watched him proceed to go through 2 bottles of wine in the space of 2 hours. Very dissapointed

A few friends and I came in for a few drinks on my 18th birthday and the owner was a disgusting man, stayed there drinking until he was drunk off his head and stayed there speaking absolutely unamigineably disgusting things about my friends family which were completely inappropriate and was drinking and being rude to ourselves and other customers all night. Unacceptable will never be visiting again and would recommend everyone stayed away from this place at all costs. Food was also horrific and I struggle to think of anything that could warrant anything good about this place. DO NOT VISIT

Excellent Sunday lunch. Great choice of meats and veg. So close to homemade roast. Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Great value.

Last weekend my son and I had a joint celebration for our 50th and 70th Birthday. We could not of had a more wonderful evening. Food excellent, service excellent, staff wonderful. A special thank you to Paul, Kevin and all the staff. Well done

We took our grandchildren after school, as this had always been a good place to eat, but the staff were more interested in the men sitting at the bar, we had to ask if they were serving food. The chef said yes, so we had two of the specials, but one was sold out, so both had lasagne, the children had chicken gougons. These were overlooked and brittle. The lasagne was dried up and reheated from lunchtime, with a little watery tomato sauce and thin slices of garlic bread. This was not cheap food and was really disappointing so we will avoid in future, would not recommend.

Very welcoming atmosphere and polite staff, food was served hot and tasty would recommend to friends. Overall a lovely meal out.

We went as a group of about 20 for a Christmas meal. There was another larger group there along with a number of others and a few locals at the bar.

Had heard good things about this place for a long time but it closed earlier in the year before we had chance to try it out. When looking for someone who still served food mid afternoon on a Saturday we though we would give this place a go, having found it had reopened under new management.

Amazing carvery. Great value for money. Staff extremely friendly, helpful, polite. Have visited twice in 2 weeks!! Cant wait to go back!

Cinco de nosotros visitamos para el domingo almuerzo de asado. Dos eran vegetarianos y eligieron las tartas de puerro, que dijeron que eran excelentes.

Mi esposo y yo visitamos ‘Kings’ para cenar el sábado por la noche. Estaba hermosamente decorada para Navidad y estábamos sentados junto a la chimenea abierta, que era preciosa en una noche húmeda / fría.

Como primera impresión, cuando entras, es hermoso y adornado para Navidad, pero huele a caballo, a pesar de estar separado de la escuela de equitación. Hacía frío ahí dentro, así que si estás pensando en ir, usa algo abrigado. Dos de nuestros amigos tuvieron la oferta de bistec del jueves, (el bistec era muy fino y espeluznante, y no se veía apetecible en absoluto), que ahora se ha cambiado a un miércoles, pero aún aparece en su sitio web por un jueves, pero lo respetaron. . Pedí la grupa de cordero con papas nuevas y me comí una costra de cordero con papas rebanadas. . . No me informaron que no tenían mi primera opción, ¡solo se la dieron! ! Todo el lugar carecía de ambiente, desafortunadamente, pero con mucho pensamiento, podría convertirse en algo mágico con las personas adecuadas para manejarlo. Para un jueves por la noche, fue muy tranquilo con solo otra mesa de 6 personas comiendo allí. Definitivamente lo evitará en el futuro, ya que hay muchos otros lugares encantadores para comer cerca.

Visited with the new management for a family birthday meal - everyone was so accommodating and welcoming. The service was exceptional good and the food was delicious. It lovely to see this business up and running again! Will be sure to revisit here again!

A unusual venue set in a riding school, the kids loved this! The restaurant and service are good , the food was average but the venue did make up for this. We will go again

We came into King's for a spontaneous lunch.

We chose Kings to host our 25th wedding anniversary party. Everything about the service they gave was Perfect, from our first meeting with Jose to view the venue and discuss the details, right up to the night where Adrian and his team looked after us and our guests superbly. Nothing was too much trouble.

Met up with some friends for breakfast, we were the first people in the place. Breakfast and drinks were soon ordered, drinks arrived promptly but the meals to a bit too long for an empty restaurant and when the did arrive some of the items were served on the wrong plates. Fortunately, we're all pretty easy going and sorted out what was supposed to go where ourselves. The quality of the meals was so so, from good quality sausages to tinpot has browns, bare in mind it's a good price being commanded here too. Eggs Benedict was ok despite the poached eggs being slightly over done. The bill took a while to get paid too.

Another visit to one of our favourite restaurants and again were not disappointed! This time it was for Jose’s Thursday Steak Night - 2 steak meals with a choice of drink (from beer, lager, house wine or soft drink) and it was delicious, a brilliant offer. Jose as always the perfect host!

Visited on Sunday with my family I must say there is not a better Carvery in Southampton Fresh good food And excellent service throughout, especially a young girl called Leah who was happy to help with everything we asked for Would highly recommend Eve

Ordered the king prawn linguini as a starter. Wish I had ordered it as a main it was delicious. Husband had prawn cocktail. Also very good. Both ordered steaks for main course. Both cooked to perfection. Lovely onion rings. Not the factory made battered rubbish but home made with tempura batter. Another delight was to ask for horseradish and it not be cheap rubbish but really good quality creamy horseradish with a kick that clears the bronchial tubes. My husband declared the London pride as a really good pint - he would know he has drunk enough of them. Thank you for a lovely evening

We can’t belueve we only live a couple of miles up the road and have never been here before! We’ve been meaning to visit and now I think we might be regulars. Four of our party had the steak meal deal. Good value and the steak was one of the best we’ve eaten recently. A couple of us had crab which was lovely and fresh. My mum had the pork belly and in her words it was one of ‘the best meals she’d eaten’. She is always very effusive in her appreciation but this did seem justified! The owner is very welcoming and friendly. So all in all it couldn’t have been much nicer. Recommend you give it a try.

Very welcoming, staff friendly and food excellent and good value. Carvery was amazing. Burgers and fish and chips also good. Beautiful location and outside seating area very pretty. Young riders on houses and ponies lovely to watch.

asked for starter without mayo but turned up covered in it we asked for sparkling water and got still main course ordered duck it was very chewy and at best luke warm

Having been searching for a good carvery for a birthday celebration I was recommended this place. The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere is really good. Being a Sunday it was really busy but the staff were always attentive and very friendly.

Very nice meal, and slightly unexpected given we were the only people in the restaurant (yes, I made a mug of myself by booking!). Restaurant had a nice decor Catered well to vegetarians, the horse manure smell from the next door stable complimented by dinner with a real depth of flavour. Not being sarcastic!

Back to our favourite restaurant for a birthday meal. Food still amazing! Husband had sirloin steak - best steak in town! I had the fish and chips which was lovely - would order again! Great atmosphere, open fire very welcoming on a cold day like today and waited on by the lovely Shannon and Carlos! Can’t wait to go back!

We found King’s by complete accident, our daughter was attending a horse riding party.

Had a nice roast dinner here a couple of weeks ago. The food was good, but as a carvery, we would have to preferred to choose the veg ourselves.

We just love this place! Jose and Shannon make you so welcome - my husband says they make the best Irish Coffee outside of Ireland! Warm and friendly - lovely log fire. Had the lamb and liver dishes today - fabulous! Can also recommend the steak - melt in your mouth! Apparently their meal and band/singer evenings are great too. Also nice to see the horses and riders going through their paces through the glass window. Without doubt our regular eating place but book to make sure you get a table.

Kings Country Bar and Restaurant provides the best quality carvery compared to anywhere I've been to, with the service to match. Yesterday (14 Jan 2018) we had a family get together, which is an event we have after Christmas every year. This year was my turn to organize. There were 17 of us altogether and I chose Kings having eaten there a few times before, I can confirm that all left extremely impressed and very satisfied. Kings have set a very high bar for my sister who has the responsibility of organizing next years event near Biggin Hill. Thanks to Kings for a great afternoon, Straight A's all the way.

Good food prices reasonable. First time here in over 4 years living in area wish I'd been here before. Nice to watch the horses through the glass doing dressage. Only slight flaw would be the slight smell of horse wee.

Popped out for a drink and a bit of live music, thought we would be out for an hour- 3 hours later we headed home. What can I say, live music brilliant, atmosphere friendly, bar service fantastic. You also need to try the food here as it's fab. Great night- thank you Kings xx

Visited with a party of 60 for our Christmas Choir meal . everything really spot on for serving this many people in one go , very resonable price and a really good Disco to follow . well done all the staff at Kings for looking after us . have a good new year .

Last night, on December 16, me and my partner dined at Kings and despite having always had good experiences last night they exceeded all my expectations: Impeccable service, fast and efficient, my first dish was Creamy garlic and mixed forest mushrooms, simply delicious , as main course we both took Farm reared turkey and home baked gammon with all the trims, it was the best Christmas turkey I have eaten in a restaurant, as a dessert we both ate Apple, cinnamon and gingerbread topping crumble, excellent !!. I recommend the Sancerre Rose.

Breakfast is the best locally - well cooked quality food all at excellent value. Have also eaten dinner in the restaurant and they accommodated our son who has severe food allergies and couldn't do enough for him. Excellent food at a good price.

Went last night, 15th December, for works Xmas party, food was top notch, couldnt fault it. Jose and crew all very helpfull, dj played some great tracks, warm and friendly atmosphere. All in all, a fab night, will most definatley be heading back!!!

We attended King's for our annual work Christmas lunch and can say we were all wonderfully pleased with the food, service and atmosphere. Firstly the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and with the real log fire going it made for a beautiful ambiance. When we arrived we were promptly shown to our table which was dressed for the occasion with crackers etc. After a drinks order our pre ordered food was immediately served and what a meal it was. Three courses of great food all of which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Everything was well presented and tasted great. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone. Last night was the 3rd time I have eaten at this restaurant, once last year and twice this year. All have been Christmas functions. Each time the food has been excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the resident DJ on top form.

Visited today for Christmas lunch with friends ..and thought the starter and lunch was delicious..service good too and like to add the crackers,were great...but a little disappointed when coffee arrived...no mince pie!!!!

Kings has become a firm favourite for us especially for their Sunday lunch where, among other options, they serve up a fantastic carvery. We’ve never yet been disappointed. Aside from the food being consistently very good, their service is always very good. Very attentive and welcoming. Simply a lovely place to relax and enjoy good food & drink & excellent service not to mention lovely surroundings.Our favourite for sure.

Visited Kings for the first time on Sunday having seen it recommended on Facebook. We were not disappointed. My friend was celebrating his birthday and wanted a carvery. The restaurant is spacious and airy, with large windows where you can watch riding lessons in the indoor school next door. We were greeted promptly by very attentive waiter who checked on us several times during our meal. My husband had the chicken pie which he loved, and the rest of us had the carvery - delicious tender lamb, pork and beef and the veggies were hot and fresh. Roasties were crisp and fluffy. Nom nom! Pudding was a lovely crumble. Decent sized portions, good value and we will definitely be back soon!Many thanks to all the team - excellent and caring service.

This was the second time I have used Kings, to Host a private function, I was a little worried as the original guy I dealt with last time had left. Any concerns I had were vanished very fast once I met Jose, the new manager he was very professional , he made sure we had a super event, I organised it with him he was very attentive he listened and understood all our requirement the place looked amazing on the night, and the food was lovely. Every Body that attended Bishops Waltham cricket clubs awards night was full of praise for Jose, Carlos and the team well done guys you were the winners on the night I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a meal or hosting an event thank you once again for making it a remarkable event .

We come here regularly for our Sunday lunch, the food is always of the highest quality and plentiful. All staff are very welcoming and friendly.

A regular lunch stop for us and the first visit since a change at the top. A warm welcome and excellent attentive service from Shannon. All the old favourites on the varied and extensive menu, plus some new dishes and a specials starter and mains board. The Pinkney gammon ham melted in my mouth, so tasty, with crispy ,real chips ,two eggs, tomato and peas. My wife's lasagne was delicious, no "ding" meal here. A nice touch this month and into December is music on a Sunday afternoon.

We haven't been back for a while, but chose to do so last night - coinciding with the launch of their new menu - and it was rather fabulous: we were hosting a guest, and they, being first timers, were enthralled with the venue, and, thankfully, the service was every bit as good as always, and the food was spectacular: who would of thought it possible to cram that much flavour into a chicken pie? So, it's still great in every possible way, and I would heartily recommend a visit!

Visited here on Sunday with my family and it was fantastic. Everything from the setting (my daughters loved watching the horses whilst dining), from the staff who are so friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely fantastic, we cant wait to go again. Highly recommend.

We went to King's on a Saturday evening for a family birthday. There were 14 of us, and the service and food were excellent. We were surprised it was uncrowded. Other reviewers had mentioned stable smells, but we didn't notice anything. The car park is a trifle tricky to find in the dark, as it is down a narrow lane, but once you get there, it is a great place to eat.

Restaurant/bar in an unusual setting - large windows down one side so you can watch people having riding lessons. Excellent food - we aim to work our way through the menu! The steak is fantastic and they also have a good children’s menu. Extremely friendly staff. Can’t wait until our next visit!

Unusual place as you overlook the horse arena. Can be a bit smelly. Food was served quickly but very average.

Our first visit , a bit of a gamble as we were treating friends for lunch.We were not dissapointed , excellent food, with very good unhuried service from the staff..Would recommend and will going back again.

We visited on a Sunday with friends. The service is great and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We all had the roasts which were delicious, you can have up to three meats each but we just had beef which was cooked perfectly. Roasted potatoes and Yorkshire puds etc are served for you and they bring vegetables and gravy to the table. Desserts were lovely also, washed down with a nice Shiraz. We will be back, fab place.

This is a lovely bar and restaurant. While eating lunch you can watch the children riding in the equestrian centre.

My husband's father loves this restaurant and requested to come here for his birthday lunch. As usual he had fish pie. I had pie of the day, chicken and Ham, and my partner had the curry. The food is good quality. With two beers and pot of tea, total cost £41. The staff are very pleasant and attentive.

Visited here with some friends and both our 2 year olds. The service was excellent the whole way through, couldn't fault it. Great kids menu, the girls really enjoyed their dinner. My husband particularly enjoyed his curry which he said tasted like a proper curry unlike some you can get at non Indian restaurants. We really liked the relaxed atmosphere to this place. If we're ever in the area again we will defiantly be returning.

We ate here after a family member had a horse riding lesson at the centre. It is a nice big dining room, plenty of friendly and efficient staff and the menu is quite extensive. The sunday lunch was lovely and very, very reasonably priced. I went for the 2 meat option and was surprised at how full my plate was. No complaints from anyone at our table and all the plates were clean. I will definatley be back. Thank you for a cracking lunch.

A very rare 5 stars from me.This place is brilliant for meeting family and friends and very different. The location next to a riding school is a delight and the windows into the riding school from the bar a a great and different idea . The food is good quality traditional pub food but the service is brilliant. A very nice and different place. Visit
