Is ok , sometimes staff good , other times not so much. However , the main point is this has got to be the earliest closing fish and chip shop in Wales if not the whole of the UK!

We booked a table for 2 for a Valentine's day dinner and we enjoyed a marvellous meal. The table was nicely decorated and with a sweet little box of chocs for the ladies. We ordered a glass of Prosecco for my wife while I ordered a good bottle of red and started on that. For a first course I chose the smoked salmon which was served with the classic side dish with toast, neatly cut into triangles, capers, sour cream and diced red onion. The portion of salmon was massive and the quality excellent. My wife enjoyed her prawn cocktail which she said was very good indeed. We both ordered sirloin steak - medium rare for our main course. It was delicious, tender and tasty and served with a fine red wine gravy. The accompanying French fries were first class. The portions were so generous that we could not manage a pudding. The service was very good and the cost came to about £100 and we left a tip of £10 for the service which was all very reasonable. My wife was presented with a red rose before we left which made a fitting end to a wonderful evening at Illtud's.

Rang today at 5pm on a busy bank holiday whilst in full VE celebration. Super singer put on the entertainment and he was good. ! I Asked if they had any tables over the phone , staff member thought they might be closing for 6 but yes we could come straight down . Drinks within 5 minutes and food -fish and chips twice and a small plate arrived within 10mins Hot , crispy freshly cooked large cod and chips which are delicious ! Fantastic portions . Lovely salad on the side . beats any fish and chip shop around . Well done to the chefs and waitresses . The manager is due to move on in two weeks . She has done a fantastic job and we wish her well and hope that the food continues to be just as good when they are under new management .

Lovely, tasty food and great service! Often eat in/takeaway and it’s great that I can take my dog in now, so I can combine my visits with a dog walk!

Best cappuccino in Llantwit. Other cafes just don't seem to know how to make one. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

On Saturday the 5th of April. I attended The Old Swan Inn in Llantwit Major for some lunch around 1:30pm after a nice trip down from Lancashire to see some relatives. When I entered the old swan inn I thought wow what a beautiful building amazing atmosphere lovely beer garden. But when it came being served I was so shocked at the way I was treated by the gentleman I asked about the pie filling and what sort of ales were available and other questions about the building. He gave me a weird look then didn’t give me any eye contact for the rest of the time being served felt like a hostile environment with both of the ladies on shift was high spirits laughing and joking and speaking to everyone with respect. When the food came to my table by that same gentleman he placed food down on the table unprofessionally and also did the same with my wife and two children food I asked for sauces for the table and a jug of water and it took him 10 minutes to come back with them by that time we was finished with our food. He just left the sauces and didn’t take our empty plates I looked over towards the bar and he was telling one of the ladies to come to clear our table. And when it came to asking for the bill he almost over charged me and didn’t apologise for mess up. I spoke to some locals before we left and apparently he was a supervisor. I was shocked that he was allowed that title. Not going to mention names but it was the worst service I have ever experienced and I have been in worse places. I will be in shock if he remains in that job. Totally unprofessional behaviour. I did leave a £10 tip for the two ladies who deserves it after putting up with him on shift

Fab service from lovely staff, who provided coffee, ice cream and cake even though we arrived after closing time! Will definitely visit again.
