This was a great find. Don't let the small entry way deceive you. There is a lovely courtyard at the back. Really friendly welcome. Beautiful food and generous servings.

Excellent restaurant with great service in a cool setting. This is a Michelin star restaurant that has a tasting menu of either 5 or 8 courses. It's set in an... Old bank... They've kept some of the old fittings and the atmosphere is great. The vault is now the wine cellar. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the food was excellent.

Great pre dinner drinks. Celebrating daughter’s birthday. Ladies all had cocktails. Lovely staff and bar.

My partner booked this for a night. I've previously been but not since the refurb a few years ago. I was amazed at how different it is....it's very friendly for one thing but the decor and interiors, the fantastic food! Breakfast options were very nice, rooms, comfortable and the staff go out of their way for guests. Our room was really comfortable and clean and there was sloe gin that we could help ourselves to in our room, so we did! A lovely place, can't wait to go back!

We visited Kent to adopt a dog from a rescue. We drove down the night before and wanted to stay close so we could have an early start in the morning. The 4 hour trip took us nearly 8 due to the M25. As we were arriving the hotel were calling us to let us know arranged to should we arrive after the main doors were shut. Checking was friendly yet quick and efficient. I have cancer in the majority of my bones so being on the 1st floor was a bonus. I get the impression that if the staff. Ould facilitate anything for you then they would. We had a couple of glasses of wine in the bar. Again the staff were friendly, the bar was relaxed and perfect to wknd down after a stressful day. We had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. The room was well equipped with a tv, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. We had breakfast the next morning for a very reasonable small additional charge. The buffet was fresh and good quality with the hot food coming out quick, hot and delicious. Check out was quick, with the (I think) manager remembering the reason for our journey and wishing us luck which was lovely to be made to feel valued as a customer. This building is lovely and has a feeling of history about it. The rooms we slept, ate and drank in were spotless. There is a need for a little bit of TLC in some areas. For example the carpet in our room was a little faded however this is being picky and the bargain price more than makes up for it. In summary - amazing value and well worth a stay!

Excellent pie (big chunks of steak), mash and various veg, piled high, with thick gravy. Ribeye steak succulent, coming with big fat chips. Desserts well worth going for too. All this with real ale, a view from upstairs over the village green, and the romance of a 700 year old pub. Visit!

Visited Chartwell house for the first time and ate here for lunch. Lovely spot outside to sit in the sun and have lunch. I especially really enjoyed the tasty homemade sausage roll and my husband enjoyed the sandwich and flapjack. Tea and service very good, all very clean and I thought for under £20 well priced.
