My second time eating here and what a disappointment. The food looked great but lacked seasoning and flavour. They had a table of 13 in for lunch and the kitchen seemed unable to cope with the service as our food took ages and was not of a standard that you would expect at the price that they charge. The head waiter is full of chit chat when you arrive but when you complain about the quality of the food or the speed of service he simply dismisses you and is totally uninterested. The fish course was like warm and lacked flavour. They add 12.5% service to the bill for poor food and poor service. I was not convinced the first time I ate here but after the second time it will define the last time. Really disappointing all round.

We visited the Golf Club for Sunday dinner at beginning of May and was pleasantly surprised just how good it was! The staff were really helpful and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed - just what we wanted, Food was amazing and will definitely be bringing more family back here

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had in a hostelry! The men's toilets are disgusting! They have a drug problem with some of the customers snorting in the toilet stalls! The bar staff are surly! The manager is an oaf who thinks he can talk to people like dirt! As for the Sunday roast? I like vegetables drained of water, gravy with something less like brown water and a slice of meat thicker than aluminum foil! Three years ago they had a polite, enthusiastic manager that kept the place well run and had a beer garden devoid of trash and toilets that had operating facilities and didn't smell! The ale selection was fantastic too!

Myself and the wife had a drive out to Westerham, saw a couple of pubs there but plumped for the Grasshopper. We weren't disappointed at all, nice warm welcome by the two bar staff as we entered, ordered two drinks and asked about food, a tab was opened and we ordered our food, nice selection of traditional pub grub on the menu. I had the steak and Ale pie with chips, veg and onion gravy, the wife had Chili chips. The steak pie had pieces of steak the size of your head!! And the flavour was really decent, nice size portions to boot. The Chili chips were very nice, too and lots of them. All in all a lovely pub, a warm welcome and proper decent food. We will be back to sample more of the extensive menu. On a side note, the bar has hooks, this is thing for me.

A very good cafe offering the usual very good standard National Trust menu (sandwiches, baked potatoes, other snack meals and cakes (one reservation is, on the cake side, there could more choice for Gluten Free diets)), served by friendly, helpful staff. There's plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and, a new innovation, there is now a room where dogs are welcome. A good place to drop into when you are walking round Chartwell.
