Lovely lunch on our return Brockenhurst and Britannia Thai. Friendly service, lovely dishes including lamb massaman. Really glad we returned to this lovely restaurant.

This is a lovely place...we had breakfast here...the food was all cooked fresh and the service was swift... it's quite a large place but feels quite intimate... spotlessly clean and very well run...we will return..

Ate here as part of our stay here. Warm decor in the restaurant. Was given a warm welcome by our waiter who provided great service throughout the evening. Enjoyed tasty small Barbacoa Beef Tacos to start, a great Battered Haddock & Chips with a salted caramel to finish. Recommended if in area or staying at hotel.

We recently stayed at Forest Park Country Hotel to celebrate my birthday, and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully set in a large garden surrounded by trees, with a wide open green just outside where wild horses roam freely – such a magical sight to wake up to! Our room was tastefully decorated to match the country charm of the hotel, yet felt modern, fresh, and very clean. As a lovely surprise, the staff had left a birthday card in our room upon arrival – such a sweet and thoughtful gesture. We were also greeted with a welcome note from housekeeping, which was a lovely personal touch. The hotel is incredibly dog-friendly. We stayed in a ground-floor room with a back door leading straight into the garden, which was perfect. The room was well-equipped for our dog too – with bowls, a blanket, and an adorable welcome pack that included a toy, treats, and poo bags. It really made us feel that dogs are genuinely welcome here, not just tolerated. The staff were warm, friendly, and fun to chat to. They were very accommodating and offered helpful recommendations for the local area. We especially loved the Inn bar, where we could enjoy meals and drinks with our dog by our side. Breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and the food at the restaurant was outstanding – beautifully presented, high-end quality, and reasonably priced. We ended up dining there both nights because it was just that good. The location is also ideal for exploring nearby villages like Beaulieu and taking in the natural beauty of the New Forest. Highly recommend this hotel – especially for dog lovers looking for a relaxing and welcoming countryside retreat!

My brother and my son were very impressed with this establishment, as was I. Friendly and helpful service, delicious food and a welcome atmosphere. I have already recommended them to more family members and friends. Parking outside was very much appreciated, as my brother needs a wheelchair.

We had a fabulous breakfast enjoying the continental and hot food , the staff made us feel very welcome and took photos for us nothing was too much trouble . We will definitely stay here again , great hotel.

I booked this as a special birthday meal for my partner. We booked for 8:30pm on a Friday night. It was the only slot available. So we knew it was going to be busy. We were very much looking forward to this. Having read the reviews it really did have potential. Unfortunately it was a real disappointment. When we arrived the restaurant had only three occupied tables, so we were very surprised. The atmosphere was non existent. We could only hear the conversation of the group of gentlemen in the front of the window. We ordered two soft drinks, and some sparking water. The water was poured. It was still. The starters arrived and were expensive, tasteless and massively lacked flavour. Prawn cocktail was bland, and terribly sad looking. We ordered pork belly, and a steak med/rare. No steak knives were given. The pork was massively over cooked, the steak was unseasoned and well done. We returned the steak and were offered a replacement. It came with a bowl of what looked like lettuce. My partner politely asked what it was, we really didn’t have a clue. The waitress confirmed it was a side salad. Wow! The second sreak came up rare, unfortunately this was also tasteless and unseasoned, and what looked like the same fries from the first steak. The waitress was so kind and helpful. We felt embarrassed for her. She apologised and we left the food and asked for the bill. When the waitress returned. She’d removed my partners steaks and only charged us for the pork. I was too embarrassed not to pay, but we did, albeit without the steaks. Such a waste. Maybe the chef was ill that night? We aren’t fussy, or awkward but this was lacking in everything.

We ate in Monty’s tonight and the food and service was lovely. I had the trout and my husband had the pie both dishes were delicious, the service was very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Lisa Chelsea and harry.

After playing laser tag for a colleagues leaving do, 17 of us spontaneously decided to try our luck at this pub for lunch today. Not only was the (assumed) manager very polite, he managed to seat us all together in the marquee, and not only was our food served in record time - it was delicious. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area

Great place to stop off in the New Forest for a meal snack or afternoon tea etc It looked as though it had closed down last time I was in Brockenhurst

A thoroughly enjoyable stay in the Hotel, all the staff were most friendly and helpful, the rooms were warm, there was a lovely open fire in the reception area and lots of places to sit and relax. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and our meal in the Thai restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed the SenSpa very much and look forward to visiting again. We chose to stop here specifically as there was a rapid charger for our EV. The grounds are relaxing and quiet. The conservatory restaurant had a good atmosphere and the service friendly and courteous. We had the Gnocchi and Ploughmans for lunch. Both were very tasty and well presented. Puddings were light and refreshing. Prices are not cheap but good food is worth paying for. Having tried out the restaurant and general ambience we are very likely to arrange a weekend break here soon.

Spent an enjoyable 3 nights at Balmer Lawn but not sure we'd stay again. Hotel is quite local to us and a place we are familiar with and in lovely location in heart of New Forest. Staff were very friendly and attentive, breakfast was good with plenty of choice, dinner in the restaurant was very good, use of local produce always a bonus. However, we thought our room on the top floor was very drab and certainly not what we would expect from a 4* hotel. It was also noisy as above the outside terrace area and facing the very busy through road. Housekeeping was very good but there was no mini fridge to keep drinks cold or safe for valuables. The bathroom was small and having to climb into a bath to shower is not acceptable or safe. I did raise the issue of poor quality pillows and having a nice fluffy pillow would add to sleep quality.

Wonderful experience! Food was brilliant. Argentinian asado cooking with an asian twist. We want to do it all again next year!

There were 3 occupied tables inside when we arrived. We were told they cooked freshly to order. Not an issue. The issue 40 minute wait for 2 cooked breakfasts. No contact after our coffees. Food was average. Luke warm. Young waitress was apologetic for the wait. Female Owner was rude when we paid the bill and commented about the long wait. Beware I asked if I could have eggs poached instead of fried. Charged £1 because it was an amendment which is on the menu but not pointed out by the male owner who took our order. I mistakenly thought amendments were swaps or additions not changes to the way eggs are cooked.
