The best restaurants serving British food in New Forest South East

The best place for breakfast. We travel from Southampton each time to enjoy it. The quality of food, the service and the whole place is amazing. We absolutely love coming back and we have reassurance that the food will as superb as each time . Coming back tomorrow for a lunch and cannot wait.

Lovely panini, fresh and tasty, plus a great cup of tea and tasty fresh flapjack. Lovely service and great place on the Lymington Quay front.

La selección de comida y bebidas es genial y lo que sea que tengamos ya sea dulce o salado, siempre es delicioso. Supposedly, a birthday treat for my wife. No such luck. The greasiest and most undercooked chips I have ever had over my many decades of chippies throughout the British Isles. None were remotely crispy. I couldn't eat them, but my wife was quite hungry, though not impressed. The onion rings were so greasy, we had to place them onto kitchen towel and attempt to pat them dry, to no avail. The mushy peas were average, at best. The battered cod and haddock were definately on the small side and the batter VERY soggy, which is a shame as the crispy parts (about 40%) were good. All this on a Friday night, and cooked to order too :(

Having had a ploughman's at another pub in the week, this was a breath of fresh air. Served on a sensible sized plate with a good choice of main items such as Pork Pie, Scotch egg, Cheeses but it was enhanced by a choice of bread, Branston or local chutney, silver onions, gherkins and a sensible sized piece of butter. Everything had so much flavour and was good value for money. A+ and will visit again.

This is amazing little Cafe but unfortunately we only get to go when we are on holiday 🥲 The owner is so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. And the food is extremely good and always fresh. We always have a chat and are made to feel most welcome. Love it ❤️

Sensational - possibly one of the best pub lunches we have ever had. From the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the friendly and attentive service. We could not fault it. Great beer too.

We didn’t stay. It was empty, there was no music. We took our drinks into the garden, drank them and left. Dog friendly

A great evening with friends for a last minute work do and it did not disappoint! Food was amazing and staff were friendly. What a lovely atmosphere and great pub. We will be back soon! Thank you!

We dine here most months, always taking the full tasting menu and it changes completely each month which is remarkable considering the size and complexity of the menus and - I assume - a small kitchen! A few days ago we ate the 12 days of Christmas menu which was absolutely amazing, every bite was delicious and the dishes were so imaginative. Stand out dishes were “French Hens” and “Calling Birds”!

Having read the negative review, I felt compelled to share our experience after visiting yesterday. We had booked in advance and may have been seated near the table mentioned in the review. While the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming, I did notice that the table next to us was quite crowded. At one point, I found it a bit tricky to navigate past the chairs to access the ladies' room. That said, our overall experience was amazing! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was outstanding, and the staff made every effort to ensure we had a fantastic time. It’s clear that a lot of hard work and care goes into making guests feel welcome. We can’t wait to return and enjoy another wonderful visit!
