The best restaurants serving British food in New Forest South East

The best place for breakfast. We travel from Southampton each time to enjoy it. The quality of food, the service and the whole place is amazing. We absolutely love coming back and we have reassurance that the food will as superb as each time . Coming back tomorrow for a lunch and cannot wait.

Lovely panini, fresh and tasty, plus a great cup of tea and tasty fresh flapjack. Lovely service and great place on the Lymington Quay front.

Absolutely fantastic service and without doubt the best battered sausage and chips I’ve ever had, never tasted batter like it words can’t explain. Well done will be back next time we’re down.

Having had a ploughman's at another pub in the week, this was a breath of fresh air. Served on a sensible sized plate with a good choice of main items such as Pork Pie, Scotch egg, Cheeses but it was enhanced by a choice of bread, Branston or local chutney, silver onions, gherkins and a sensible sized piece of butter. Everything had so much flavour and was good value for money. A+ and will visit again.

Great cafe, lovely owner who's always up for a chat even when she's busy. Reasonably priced, well made food. Had very nice bacon sandwich last time I was there. Highly recommend popping in if you are passing.

Amazing farm grade food and a great price

Sensational - possibly one of the best pub lunches we have ever had. From the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the friendly and attentive service. We could not fault it. Great beer too.

Just wanted soup before our walk. It was superb on such a cold day!

We dine here most months, always taking the full tasting menu and it changes completely each month which is remarkable considering the size and complexity of the menus and - I assume - a small kitchen! A few days ago we ate the 12 days of Christmas menu which was absolutely amazing, every bite was delicious and the dishes were so imaginative. Stand out dishes were “French Hens” and “Calling Birds”!

Lovely to be back at the RAT. Great service, lovely meal, as good as it always used to be. Friendly service, great vibe. Looking forward to returning again soon.
