The best restaurants serving British food in New Forest South East

These guys accommodated 9 of us for lunch with 4 kids and a dog. Superb attentive service and delicious food. Healthy too 😀 Thankyou. Highly recommend

First time visiting for myself, my family have been here many times before. The interior has had a refresh and looks welcoming. Menus changing weekly based on seasonal produce. Really good experience and helpful/well informed servers. Really interesting dining experience having an ever changing set and tasting menu. Something for everyone. Will certainly be coming back for more!

Abysmal beyond words. The staff ignore you and ignore you. We had to find a waiter to order. Wrong drinks arrived - our fault apparently. When I voiced my displeasure it seemed to amuse the smirking young man who eventually came to see us. Food actually reasonable but literally ( and I do mean literally) the worst experience in a restaurant pub in my life. And as we speak I am chasing a coffee that never arrived - they can’t even get that right. Update - coffee cancelled as they couldn’t remember what we ordered. I summarise our visit as an experience of the worst service imaginable and staff that showed no concern whatsoever even after , half way through the stay, we expressed our disappointment. It did not get better at this point- it actually got worse.

We are fairly local, and I hadn’t been before. My friends had advised me that the landlord could be quite rude. When being served we asked him several questions regarding the ales, to which he kept silent and blanked us. What a strange way to treat customers. Very odd behaviour, and frankly off-putting. Why you would purposely be standoffish and rude is just bizarre. Anyway, the pizza van outside was great, which also had nothing to do with the pub. Unlikely to go again

Delicious food and excellent atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Perfect for a walk through the forest, plenty of outside space to enjoy and dog friendly to boot. Absolutely wonderful service from Chloe, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Thank you for accommodating our large group. Highly recommended.

The food was nice enough albeit very expensive. I don’t agree with ‘service charges’ it’s just restaurants helping themselves isn’t it. If you want to tip you tip - by choice…. There were very few patrons for a Saturday night, speaks for itself.

Visited for Easter Sunday lunch. 3 course set menu with a few options for all courses. Fantastic food, the roast beef was exceptional along with the gravy. Service was fantastic. Very good value.

Always a treat to have to have an evening here and never disapppoints, which is why I keep going back. Peter's food is delicious and beautifully presented and Nicola and her front of house team always give a very warm welcome and excellent service. This restaurant has been in business for many years and there's a very good obvious reason for that .Would highly recommend

Lovely lunch on our return Brockenhurst and Britannia Thai. Friendly service, lovely dishes including lamb massaman. Really glad we returned to this lovely restaurant.

Quick and attentive service. We had cake and tea which was really nice. However, prices were at the high end. Good stopping off point in New forest.

Ate here as part of our stay here. Warm decor in the restaurant. Was given a warm welcome by our waiter who provided great service throughout the evening. Enjoyed tasty small Barbacoa Beef Tacos to start, a great Battered Haddock & Chips with a salted caramel to finish. Recommended if in area or staying at hotel.

Had Sunday lunch with the family at this hotel. The staff were friendly, the meal was good, very good, but the service was appallingly slow. The drinks at the beginning took 20 minutes to arrive. We had to cancel our coffee order as it had not arrived after 30 minutes, pay and leave. We felt completely ignored. It's a shame because that was poor, and we left feeling a bit fed up.
