A small family friendly cafe serving a varied lunch menu plus teas and yummy locally homemade cakes. There is a great kids menu and they serve mini hot chocolate 'A Chapalino' and child size milk shakes. The only shame is that its not open after 3.30pm. There is a baby change, high chairs and even children's cutlery readily available to. Run by a team of volunteers for YFM charity group, as well as the Café, it is a children's toys and clothes charity shop.

Our panini and toasted sandwich came quickly and was served beautifully on lovely little wooden chopping boards with a side-salad and crisps. The service - welcoming yet professional. Laura esp is friendly, grounded and helpful. It's very well priced. I've been on my own before and felt comfortable enough to just sit for a while. The mix of customers - It's child friendly but there have always been lots of people (Young and old) with no children.Other things - it's always been clean (no coffee rings or unwelcome toilets when I've visited), there is an area to buy things and that the children who come in quietly play with the toys for sale.

A refreshing change from the predictable nature of Costa Coffee and the like (and I do have a Costa loyalty card!), this is a new venture housed in an old chapel in a residential part of Totton near the local college and about 1/2 mile from the village centre. It is run by a local charity and offers very keenly priced and freshly made drinks, sandwiches, soup etc and cakes. A lot of hard work has been put into modernising and re-decorating the old chapel building The décor is very light and informal, and its a really nice, friendly place to go for a light lunch. Definitely worth supporting!

While you are waiting for your food why not browse the items they have on sale in the charity shop (at the front of the building). It has a toilet, free wifi and is clean, bright, and charming. Proceeds go towards the Youth and Families Matters programmes locally so its a really good cause. When I called in some older people were enjoying a chat with their friends and I believe some students from Totton College have discovered it too so I really hope its long-lasting and successful.

I rarely write reviews as they are subjective - an individual's feeling from their own frame of reference. Everyone experiences moments in different ways. However, on this occasion I can't keep quiet and I'm right! Annette and Paul have created an absolutely wonderful place to eat, stay and relax. Phenomenal food, a lovely room and incredible service by everyone we met, all set in the peaceful village of Whitsbury. A special stay and one that will stay in the memory for a very long time. Thank you x
