When it comes to customer service this cafe offers none. Everything is wrong with the older lady who appears to own the business. Her tone, mannerisms and general way of speaking to customers comes across as rude. We put the parasol next to our table up as it was baking hot and got shouted at to put it back down again - apparently because of the wind. We ordered off the menu board and were told very abruptly that there was no hot food and to order something else. Both of these points are absolutely fine - it is the way she went about telling me! All snarly and aggressive. I also asked for some tap water for my dog and was met with another shouty response that they did not do water for dogs. We decided to buy a bottle of water for our dog but still she was not happy to help with a container of any description! Bearing in mind half of this business is an ice cream parlour, who presumably have empty ice cream tubs almost daily, the lack of containers puzzled me. Furthermore, when you read previous reviews all saying the same about dog water, as a business owner, would it not be wise to hold onto a tub or two to keep the customers happy and wanting to return? Clearly not at Surf n Sail, they like to be as rude as possible and leave customers as unhappy as possible. On a positive note, the location is fab and the ice cream is great. Such a shame all classes on customer service appear to have been missed by the owner!

Called without prior booking to this quaint pub/restaurant in the centre of South Wraxall. Old building with low ceiling, but nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Delicious fish pie with butter mash and seasonal greens. Large pieces of fish 4 different varieties.

Oh my word! Having been pulled in by the kerb-appeal of all the delicious-looking delights in the window, my partner and I hoped to find something nice for lunch. How disappointed we were....... This verged on a blend of Fawlty Towers and a Karen's Diner. There are warning-galore, all written on paper bags stuck over the walls and on the display areas. "Do not touch, this is not self-service, don't fiddle with the toaster settings, children and knives don't mix, we are not trained fire-fighters, no toilets here.....", all headed up by a small, rather stroppy and officious tyrant of a woman! I wondered what we had stumbled upon so headed for Tripadvisor and all was revealed! The reviews don't lie! I then amused myself over a bowl of mediocre soup and unremarkable bread, by reading the words of previous customers. I CONCUR! We ate our lunch squashed onto a pew with other equally bemused/ confused/ amused diners and made a speedy exit - my partner more speedy than me as he didn't want to risk her wrath at the till, heaven-forbid he did something wrong! I'm still not quite sure what we experienced and I don't think I'll return. Go for a nosy if you have broad shoulders and fancy taking on Miss Trunchbull of the bakery world!

Nice spot, lovely staff but!! Building in need of updating, and the food is of very low quality, and overpriced, also waited a long time and then part of the order we placed was not ordered by the staff member taking orders! This is a historic venue but sadly it was probably at its best in 1965 😢

Had actually planned to eat elsewhere while visiting the needles because the reviews seemed so bad but we decided to pop in and see what the place was like anyway It was actually absolutely fine! Clean, organised and the food was very reasonabley priced. We did only get chips so can’t vouch for the other bits but it all looked tasty. Also the amount of chips was HUGE! Don’t let the bad reviews put you off.

Great coffee and lovely lady running the place. Good bacon sandwich and egg sandwich - really fresh in a perfect setting.
