The best restaurants serving British food in Meads Eastbourne South East

1st time here, opted for the veggie breakfast in the end, a nice choice and a good daily specials menu too! Have to return to try more. Nice friendly staff and good layout inside. Would have given it 5 stars but the kitchen was fairly smokey and that ended up inside where you eat! Maybe best to eat outside if you don't want to smell of cooked food.

We booked a table for 5 for lunch midweek, The service was excellent, food good quality traditional pub style, my 89 yo mum felt she was treated very thoughtfully throughout the visit. A lovely experience Thank you Angie, Karen and Chef Glen.

It was £15 for 3 courses, what can you expect, but seriously it was even worse that you could imagine! Buffet style, self service, we had supposedly leek & potato soup like dish water packet soup, never been near an leek or a potato, leather pork chops, yellow veg curry, frozen soggy mixed veg and clumpy white rice, no potatoes were main course options. Desert was some kind of apple cake or a bright pink cheesecake, no cream, custard or ice cream, so very dry. Everything was tasteless, but I guess it filled a whole

Beautiful little pub, awesome food what else do you need.

Visited with friends for dinner. Lovely atmosphere and attentive service. We all enjoyed the food. The pace of service was perfect. The wine list is well curated with something for all tastes and budgets. We will return.

Great food and drink always go in for there fish and chips when down Eastbourne with great staff too

Hi all, I went for a drink in Eastbourne Witherspoons with 6 friends tonight before a curry night we had planed. We had 4 rounds and that was ok but the service was a little slow then. After curry all 6 of us went back to Wetherspoons hoping to have a good few more rounds, but the bar staff by that time was a shambles. We waited 20 min or more and after when the barman just served the pretty girls who just turned up after us, we all left to drink else where. Shame as would of spent quiet a bit of money. I think your head office needs to sort things out they are loosing money and custom. Well to be fair I don't blame the young barmen serving the pretty girls 1st, but the waiting time does need serious addressing as I will think twice now going back their with my friends. Breathtaking views. No words, just beautiful.

I used to come here 50+ years ago when it was a steak house... prawn cocktail, steak n chips, then Black Forest Gateau for about £2.50!. My oldest sister had her wedding reception in the upstair function room!!! Now a lovely pub / gastro pub. Good real ale selection. Had to have Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter. Madge had a local wine, only £11 a glass. Casta should take her home to Spain.
